Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper welcomes third child after dramatic harvest dash

Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper became a dad for the third time – but in true farmer style, he kept working in the fields before dashing to meet his newborn

Kaleb has become a dad for the third time

Clarkson’s Farm favourite Kaleb Cooper has become a dad for the third time but true to form, he was still out in the fields when the big news came through.

The 26-year-old farmer, who has won fans with his no-nonsense style on the hit Amazon Prime show, was in the middle of harvesting when he received the call that his fiancée Taya had gone into labour.

According to his boss Jeremy Clarkson, Kaleb didn’t panic or rush to the hospital. Instead, he calmly said he would head over once he had finished working the field he was on. Clarkson later joked that his young co-star was the ultimate professional for putting farming before everything – even a delivery room dash.

The former Top Gear presenter revealed the exchange in his newspaper column, praising Kaleb’s work ethic while also poking fun at the unusual timing. He even teased that the newborn should be named after the field where Kaleb was working at the time, which happened to be called “Deadman”. The tongue-in-cheek suggestion was quickly dismissed.

It marks the third child for Kaleb and his long-term partner Taya, who were childhood sweethearts. The couple already share two young children, Oscar, born in 2021, and Willa, born in 2023.

Kaleb, who grew up in Chipping Norton and began farming in his early teens, has become one of the standout stars of Clarkson’s Farm since it launched in 2021. His straight-talking advice, grumpy humour and fierce commitment to traditional farming have made him a favourite among viewers.

But while there was cause for celebration in Kaleb’s personal life, life on Diddly Squat Farm has been less cheerful. Clarkson admitted the summer’s drought had left their crops in poor condition, with the yield so small it could “fit inside a Hoover bag”. The disappointing harvest adds another challenge to the already unpredictable life of farming, which the show has highlighted in its behind-the-scenes look at rural life.

Despite the tough conditions, Kaleb has continued to put in the hours, even as his family grows. His story is another reminder of the unique pressures faced by farmers balancing work, weather and home life.

For fans of Clarkson’s Farm, it’s another glimpse of the down-to-earth young farmer who has managed to turn hard graft, quick wit and a love of tractors into an unlikely TV success.
