Peter Andre has shared a snap of his family on social media for the first time since his explosive feud with ex-wife Katie Price erupted earlier this week
Peter Andre has finally spoken out on social media, sharing a poignant family photo just days after his fiery spat with ex-wife Katie Price.
The Mysterious Girl singer, 52, took to Instagram to post the picture following a tumultuous week in which Katie, 47, publicly labelled him a “fake saint”. The former lovebirds, who are parents to Junior and Princess, have found themselves embroiled in a new row over their daughter’s upcoming reality TV show.
Katie recently pointed fingers at Peter and his management team, accusing them of sidelining her from Princess’ career and even alleging that she was barred from her daughter’s 18th birthday bash. This comes on the heels of Princess Andre declaring her independence from her parents amidst the ongoing feud with Katie Price.
However, Peter hit back hard with a lengthy Instagram post, vowing to no longer keep mum. He penned: “For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.”
He continued: “The latest comments about my children’s welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight. For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never made this public before, out of respect for my children.”, reports the Mirror.
The performer continued by claiming Katie was rehashing debunked allegations that had already been thrown out by previous legal proceedings, stating: “Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months.”
Katie subsequently hit back via her representative, maintaining she was “at peace” and had passed the issue to her legal team. She also rejected any desire for a back-and-forth battle, declaring she would “no longer be gaslit and bullied as she once was”.
In his debut post since the row kicked off, Peter has uploaded a family photograph featuring his wife Emily and their three youngsters together. He shared the image of his clan strolling hand-in-hand along the shoreline with their backs turned to the lens on his Instagram story, simply writing “Cyprus”.
Peter and Katie initially crossed paths on I’m A Celebrity in 2004 and swiftly emerged as one of Britain’s most high-profile pairs. They tied the knot merely twelve months later, but following four years as a couple, their union crumbled.
Katie has persistently claimed Peter and his management circle have shut her out of choices regarding Princess’ professional path. The 18 year old has recently debuted her maiden reality programme, featuring scenes of her bonding with her dad, whilst her mum receives minimal screen time.
Katie has expressed feeling pushed aside from major moments in her daughter’s journey, alleging she was barred from Princess’ 18th birthday celebration and shut out of production. During her podcast, Katie confessed she was “very, very upset” about the circumstances, claiming that Peter’s team regard her as “trash” and wanted to exclude her from the programme.
She also expressed her heartbreak at being absent from Princess’ special moment, revealing: “Princess was like ‘I’m having a party’. And I wasn’t invited because it was for ‘filming’.”
