Reality show Destination X is set to return for a second series.
Execs at the BBC have commissioned another run after a top-secret meeting with producers.
They are planning to announce the news later this month.
A show insider said: “Everyone at the BBC thinks Destination X is a cracking show, so they want to bring it back in 2026.
“It’s a clear sign that they have faith it could become one of the biggest shows on TV.
Rob Brydon is due to be offered a big-money deal to return as host.
Bosses reckon he is “perfect” for the show.
Filming on the second run is due to start within months and producers are already discussing potential locations for it.
Destination X has become a ratings sensation since launching last month.
Episodes have been pulling in more than four million viewers.
It has been thrashing ITV reality show The Fortune Hotel in its slot on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
The format first aired in Belgium in 2023 and became a big hit.
Since then versions have launched in The Netherlands, Denmark and the US.
A contestant on Destination X has pointed the finger at a “dodgy” task for his defeat, claiming he was “cheated”.
Josh, one of the six remaining competitors in Rob Brydon’s BBC gameshow, is vying for the £100,000 prize in the reality show that’s been likened to a mash-up of The Traitors and Race Across The World.
