EXCLUSIVE: One former Come Dine With Me contestant sparked panic among the filming crew with her bold outfit choice, which left them scrambling to call Channel 4 bosses for permission
One Come Dine With Me contestant’s outfit choice left the camera crew panicking.
37-year-old sales advisor Jade Barbie lives in Bristol and filmed her series back in 2021 during Covid-19 restrictions. Due to the rules, Jade and her fellow contestants were forced to film in a mansion rather then their own homes and the episodes were then released two years later.
She spoke exclusively to Daily Star on behalf of OLBG and said: “When they saw one of the outfits I was going to wear, the producers said they would have to call Channel 4 to check if I was allowed – they said they didn’t think it was suitable for TV!”
“They told me I had to put a safety pin in it. It was the sort of the stuff I wore during the interview, so I just said I was wearing it.”

Jade also revealed that the Come Dine With Me Crew edited out a lot of funny scenes that happened during her stint on the show: “Once when I was walking up the drive towards the house I fell over, I was laughing so much. I really hoped it would be in the show but they cut that.”
“There were a few funny conversations we had where we couldn’t stop laughing, but they weren’t in there. I think they could have edited it a lot better, it could have been a lot funnier.”
Jade said that her adorable pooch made an appearance on set and “was being so naughty, running everywhere” but Channel 4 producers decided to “cut all of that”.
She revealed: “There was so much drama that wasn’t on the show. There was so much they missed out…”
The former Come Dine With Me star admitted that she would “100 percent do it again” but would “do it so differently” as she was “nervous” in front of the cameras – but despite that she still had “the best time ever.”
She told Daily Star: “I didn’t know how to cook, I can cook a lot better now! I would take a bit more care over the food, but [at the time] I didn’t really care about that. I was more excited to just go and have fun, I was just there to meet new people and have a laugh.”
