Taylor Swift’s belly button is trending once again after fans noticed something “unusual” in pictures of the singer.
The 35-year-old singer recently announced that her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, is set to be released in October and album art shows Miss Swift dressed in a diamond-encrusted bra and knickers while showing off her washboard stomach.
One fan online wrote: “OF Swifties look at this in shock that Taylor is revealing her belly button. Reminiscing on the days we joked that she didn’t have one.”
The comment is referring to a trend back in 2015 when fans of Taylor jokingly tried to convince everyoen that she didn’t have a navel, until the popstar posted a bikini snap proving that she does indeed have one.
A fellow fan wrote: “Honestly such a funny memory from back in the day,” while another said: “Such a long running joke and then when she finally go on it and posted that photo proving she had one! Iconic.”
Back when the rumours started, Swift posed with friends while wearing a swimsuit and proudly showed off her belly button to debunk the bizarre myth. Someone wrote: “I’ll never forget the belly button reveal. She was with HAIM! Was it 2014?”
Another person chimed in: “One of my first thoughts was how wrong it feels to see her belly button,” and a third typed: “I think it’s Photoshopped tbh.”
Taylor even once spoke about the drama during an interview with Lucky Magazine and said: “I don’t like showing my belly button. When you start showing your belly button then you’re really committing to the midriff thing!”
“I only partially commit to the midriff thing. You’re only seeing lower ribcage. As far as anyone knows, based on my public appearances, they haven’t seen evidence of my belly button. It could be pierced. They have no idea.”
