The Chase star Mark Labbett is set to appear on this year’s series of Celebs Go Dating where he is set to be seen putting his love life in the hands of the dating experts
The Chase’s Mark Labbett is among the celebrity lineup for this year’s Celebs Go Dating series, and according to the programme’s agent Anna Williamson, he’s “one of the most fascinating” participants they’ve ever encountered. Mark is searching for romance once more after his split from Hayley Palmer last year, which occurred just after they’d celebrated their first anniversary together.
When questioned about his romantic situation, he revealed he’d been living “quietly” in Yorkshire following their separation and had been relishing his solo time. Nevertheless, Mark decided to step outside his comfort zone and entrust his romantic future to dating specialists Anna, Paul C Brunson, and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn.
Before his romantic encounters hit our screens, 44-year-old Anna revealed what working with the 60-year-old was really like throughout the experience. She explained: “Mark is probably one of the most fascinating celebrities we’ve ever had. Let’s just say, for me, he’s an appointment to view. He gives us it all!”.
Teasing some clashing viewpoints during production, she continued: “He has a few ups and downs with us agents, I will throw that out there. Mark is definitely a force to be reckoned with and I think he met his reckoning force in us. Let’s just say we don’t tolerate any clap back in the agency.”
When the dating specialists need to address the celebrity hopefuls about their behaviour, Anna emphasised it will “always [be] from a place of love”. She went on to clarify: “We run a tight ship at the agency and as professionals, we will always hold our boundaries.
“We are not there to make friends we are there to coach people,” though added: “We certainly become extremely fond of our celebs.”By his own admission, The Chase star said he is “terrible” at dating, though admitted he found the dating experts’ advice helpful.
The Chase star confessed that he is “terrible” at dating, though he found the advice from dating experts beneficial.
He revealed: “Well, I would say I was terrible, but apparently, according to the agents, I did a bit better than that. So I have a rule in life and that is when you chat to an expert, listen to them. Take it on board. And I will blow my own trumpet.
“I did listen to them and hopefully, I got a bit better at dating as a result of this.”
When asked about the specific advice he received, he mentioned there were “suggestions of flirting” which he admits “didn’t feel natural” to him.
“But the major one there was to really listen and take an interest and I have got to say that kind of worked,” he added during his appearance on Channel. The quizmaster stars on the show alongside celebrities such as Christine McGuinness, Kerry Katona, Olivia Hawkins and Jon Lee, who are all on a quest to find their perfect match.
