Labubus are the latest toy craze, with shops now offering a lottery system just so customers can win a chance to buy one as demand is so high

It seems even celebrities are in on the Labubu craze, as Pixie Lott has announced a special gig and fans must bring one to be allowed in. The toy, or fashion accessory for many, is a furry little monster with big ears and eyes, and a toothy smile. The demand for them has been so high that Pop Mart, the store who sells them, was forced to withdraw them from shops and introduce a lottery system to give customers the chance to buy one.

A number of celebrities are fans of the creepy but cute little monsters, including Blackpink member Lisa. And it seems Pixie Lott is, too.

The singer is back with her new single Coming Of Age, marking a new chapter in her music career.

The gig is free, but limited to 75 people, and to get into the event fans must bring their Labubu with them.

Fans have reacted to the news, with one saying: “Labubu tax? Yas queen, take my money!”

Another said: “Labubu season, time to secure the bag.”

A third wrote: “Labubu as entry? That’s a quirky twist.”

Meanwhile, others were left confused.

One said: “Rich people doing rich people things. Gatekeeping the poor.”

Another wrote: “‘Coming of age’ while having a party where you need a Labubu to enter.”

Someone else said: “I really want to know what the correlation is between Pixie and Labubu because this just seems so random.”

Pixie’s new song Coming Of Age debuted on Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show on August 21, with the music video being released later this afternoon.

It looks at Pixie’s journey as an artist, as well as a mother and woman taking control while spinning the many plates that life brings.

She said: “It’s about embracing change, owning your story, and stepping into the next phase of life with strength.

“I’ve always been stuck in the past but becoming a mum changed everything, and I can’t wait to be a ‘mother of another’.

“This track is the beginning of a new chapter – musically and personally.”
