Robbie Williams has begged Oasis to let him open for them at their upcoming gigs as part of their Live ’25 world tour. The Rock DJ star said he would be prepared to open for the Gallagher brothers despite their old rivalry.

Robbie, 51, said: “I’d open for Oasis. In this moment that they’re having right now, they are omnipresent. They are at the peak zeitgeist and I can’t compete with that, so I would open for Oasis.

“It would be funny if instead of Richard Ashcroft, it would be me opening for them. But Richard Ashcroft makes complete sense.”

The pop star, who found fame with boyband Take That, was involved in a feud with Liam and Noel Gallagher stretching back a quarter of a century. It kicked off in 2000 at the Brit Awards when Noel insulted Robbie and escalated when the singer challenged Liam to a boxing match.

The mega-successful Oasis reunion has had fellow indie icons Cast and Richard Ashcroft from The Verve in support so far. They have performed to packed out audiences across the UK and Ireland but are not joining them for their overseas dates.

Meanwhile, Richard praised Liam, 52, for avoiding Cigarettes and Alcohol on tour so that he is performing at his very best. The Drugs Don’t Work singer, 53, told Virgin Radio: “I’ve only seen Liam on stage and I’ve got so much respect for that because every night is an opportunity to sort of celebrate in a way, but the guy has been so disciplined on this.

“I think the fans respect that, they can hear that, they can feel that” Whatever he’s doing, whatever his method is, it’s working, and I’ve got 100 per cent respect for him.”

In his discussion with Chris Evans, Richard said that he has seen Noel a few times off stage instead. He added: “He seems to be in great spirits and in a good place, and enjoying it. I think it was quite overwhelming the first one, I think it passed a bit like a movie. It wasn’t really a gig, it was beyond a gig that first Cardiff for them, it was surreal and probably overwhelming.”

The news comes after we reported how Oasis fans are suffering from a massive emotional comedown after seeing their heroes. A top boffin has said the phenomenon – dubbed the Post Oasis Blues (POB) – is rife around Britain.

Hundreds of thousands of punters flocked to the must-see reunion gigs this summer, their first shows for 16 years after Liam and Noel Gallagher patched things up.

John McAlaney, a professor of psychology at Bournemouth University, said: “Post Oasis Blues appear to be a real thing.

“People who go to these momentous, one-off events are unable to maintain the huge high they experience and have to come back to the reality of getting up and going to work.
