South Korean pop sensation Kim Chaewon has caused a stir online after sharing videos of her pet Pomeranian licking her mouth and lips.

The K-pop star, who is part of the girl group Le Sserafim, posted the controversial clips on the Korean social media platform Weverse.

In one video, the 25-year-old lays back while her pet Shiro enthusiastically licks her face. Chaewon can be seen puckering up and gently stroking the dog’s ears as it continues to lap at her mouth. Another clip shows the Le Sserafim singer making kissing noises as Shiro attempts to lick her tongue.

Once the videos hit other social media platforms like X and Instagram, they sparked a wave of criticism from hundreds of K-pop fans who labelled Chaewon’s actions as “gross and weird”.

One user commented: “She loves her dog a little too much,” while another bluntly stated, “Damn, that’s disgusting”, reports Mail.

One particularly outraged fan wrote: “That video of Chaewon and her dog is FOUL and no, people are not overreacting!

“She let her dog lick the inside of her mouth, touching tongues at one point, for a whole 20 seconds.

“That’s a whole make out session with a f***ing dog you will not convince me it’s not that weird and disgusting.”

Another pleaded: “Please stop putting that disgusting video of Chaewon and her dog down my timeline, I can’t take it anymore!”

Earlier this year, a group of researchers from Penn State cautioned that domestic dogs are “overlooked spreaders” of zoonotic pathogens, advising against dog owners smooching their pets.

This includes antibiotic-resistant Salmonella, which can lead to symptoms such as diarrhoea, fever, abdominal cramps and in severe cases it can even be fatal.

Meanwhile, a woman who had sex with her pet pug hailed herself a “proud full-time mummy” on Facebook as pictures of a new mystery dog emerge.

Paige Reaney, who was spared jail earlier this year after pleading guilty to having sex with a “poor, helpless” pug named Charlie, previously posted photos of another dog on her social media. There is no suggestion she committed any sex acts on this particular dog, which appears to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Reaney, 33, was sentenced in February alongside her partner Graham Marshall, 39, whose “perverted” sexual fantasies drove the abuse of the pug at their home in Sheffield, South Yorks.

Judge Jeremy Richardson KC said he accepted there was a “level of coercion” when Marshall made Reaney engage in a range of sex acts with their pet, but she still retained some culpability. He told her: “You never refused any of those requests.”

Reaney admitted bestiality and animal cruelty at a previous hearing, and was given a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
