EXCLUSIVE: Daily Star headed down to All Points East festival in Victoria Park for a day of fun in the sun to see what all the hype is about and noticed something very unexpected…
All Points East festivalgoers should be aware of this one thing before enjoying their weekend at Victoria Park.
On 16 August, Daily Star took a trip down to the iconic London location to catch APE’s stacked lineup, as Chase and Status headlined while huge names like Sammy Virji, Nia Archives, Dimension, Shy FX, 4AM Kru, Serum and Inja performed throughout the day.
Chase and Status put on an incredible show as always, smashing out their chart-topping hits mixed with classic tunes only dedicated fans will recognise. We had high expectations for Oppidan and she blew them out of the water, the perfect set to get the crowd hyped for Sammy Virji who played as the sun set over the capital city.
Victoria Park is a huge venue decked out with food stands galore so hungry ravers don’t have far to walk from the dance floor. If you’re feeling thirsty, bars are dotted about the place with beers and ciders starting from £6.50, wines and fizz starting from £6.90 with non-alcoholic options also available – we decided to skip the hard seltzers which were priced at an eye-watering £8.25 each, but luckily the water refill stations are completely free.
Bar staff are very friendly and more than happy to answer any questions you may have and if you’re lucky, you might get some dance moves thrown in while you wait. Shout out to the super lovely bartenders that made our day and sent us off with a smile.
We also spotted groups of people chilling on the countless benches dotted about, handy for those who needed a well-deserved break after dancing in the heat all day.
However, one thing caught us majorly off guard – Victoria Park can get extremely, extremely dusty. We left the place with shoes a different colour than when we entered so be aware and if you’re planning a light-coloured outfit for the event, you may want to reconsider!
Even festivalgoers online have been commenting on the amount of dust, so if you’re heading down to All Points East this weekend to catch Raye, FKA Twigs, JADE, The Maccabees, Bombay Bicycle Club and CMAT, make sure you skip your favourite shoes and opt for those comfy trainers you won’t mind getting a little dirty (although easily fixed with a baby wipe or two when you get home).
Tickets for Saturday 23 August have sold out, but tickets for Sunday 24 August are still available – click here to bag yours.
