Telly star Jay Blades has pulled the plug on his website and his upmarket furniture firm, we can reveal.

His page chronicled his rise from furniture restorer to one of the most recognisable faces on TV, following his fame on The Repair Shop. It also gushed about his royal connections after becoming friends with King Charles through his work.

But following Jay being accused of two counts of serious sexual assault, Jayblades.co.uk has disappeared from the web. The 55-year-old appeared before magistrates in Telford, accused of two counts of rape.

And he has also called time on his furniture firm. The Repair Shop guru has stepped away from the fix-it show after his marriage collapsed in acrimony and he was charged with controlling and coercive behaviour.

He sold pricey new furniture costing thousands of pounds via his firm called Jay & Co Furniture Ltd.

Would-be buyers were told: “Designed by the main man himself Jay Blades, our core collection is packed full of colour, effervescent energy, and bold personality.”

But now the firm’s website is also no longer active and links to the page via his personal site are dead.

He has also been dropped from designing sofas and chairs for iconic firm G Plan where he had his own Jay Blades X range.

And latest accounts reveal his furniture firm was worth just £456 for the 12 months to 31 January last year.

The company also received a Corporation Tax rebate of £2,239 after failing to make a profit.

Jay started out upscaling furniture, and he said: “Restoring furniture is like restoring yourself.

“If you see a broken, knackered chair and you’re able to fix it, put stuff into it, paint it, glue it, screw another leg on it, put some fabric on it, give it that unique twist.

“Nobody should be put on the scrap heap. We all have a use. You just need certain things put into you in order to shine.”

Blades, who was awarded an MBE in the 2021 Birthday Honours for his services to crafts has three children – a daughter from his first marriage and two sons from previous relationships.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson had previously confirmed: “Jason Blades, 55, of Claverley in Shropshire, has been charged with two counts of rape. He is due to appear at Telford magistrates’ court on 13 August 2025.”
