Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been spotted for the first time since their engagement sent shockwaves around the globe.
Kelce proposed after two years of dating Swift, with the pair sharing the announcement across both their Instagram accounts alongside the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” – a nod to Swift’s track ‘So High School’.
Ed Kelce, Travis’s dad, has since disclosed that the engagement occurred around the period of the renowned New Heights podcast collaboration, whilst Patrick Mahomes revealed the duo contacted him and his spouse Brittany to break the news at roughly the same time.

On Thursday, the pair returned to the spotlight at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium – home to Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs – for a Week 1 college football clash between Nebraska and Cincinnati, where both Kelce and brother Jason previously played during their university careers.
Travis and Jason strolled the sidelines throughout pre-game preparations, soaking up the atmosphere for the Bearcats’ season kick-off, before linking up with Mahomes in a VIP box for the match. Shortly afterwards, Swift joined the group in their suite, with the delighted couple featured on ESPN’s coverage, reports the Mirror US.
Following their explosive Instagram revelation – which has garnered 28 million likes, 2 million reposts and 9.6 million shares – Kelce was beaming as he made his comeback to the football scene. Swift has been spotted at numerous Chiefs matches over the past two seasons, building relationships with players as well as their partners.
While Mahomes was already in the loop about the engagement news, it seems many others were completely in the dark, according to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.
Jones revealed: “I’m told via sources with the Kansas City Chiefs that this offseason Travis Kelce has seemed to compartmentalize a lot better to really kind of hone in and focus in a lot more on football, to kind of keep the outside stuff on the outside and the inside stuff on the inside.
“So much so Hailey [Sutton] and Pete [Prisco] that I can tell you that this came as a big surprise to a number of folks within the Chiefs organization. They found out off of Instagram and so this hasn’t been known over there and they weren’t whispering about it.”
Earlier this month, Swift appeared on Kelce’s New Heights podcast for a marathon two-hour episode where she chatted about her latest album and her growing passion for the sport since dating the NFL sensation.
She gushed about how much she relishes attending matches and her admiration for the game, with expectations she’ll be present at several Chiefs fixtures this season during her touring hiatus.
Swift was pictured sitting alongside Donna Kelce during a 2023 Chiefs clash with the Chicago Bears, following months of rumours swirling about the pair’s romance. She is expected to be present at several Chiefs matches this season, whilst she wraps up her new album ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ set for release in October.
