Singer Jessie J has been forced to cancel her upcoming US tour dates as she needs to undergo further surgery amid her battle with breast cancer, but her UK and European shows have been rescheduled
Jessie J has had to pull the plug on her US tour because she needs further cancer treatment. The 37-year-old singer, who disclosed in June that she underwent a mastectomy as part of her fight against breast cancer, shared on social media that she now requires a second operation.
While Jessie reassured fans that the surgery is “nothing too serious” it must be carried out by the end of the year, conflicting with her scheduled tour dates across Europe and the US.
In an Instagram video posted on Thursday the Price Tag hitmaker said: “As some of you may know I just had breast cancer surgery eight weeks ago, that’s the first thing.
“The second thing is unfortunately I have to have a second surgery. Nothing too serious but it has to be done by the end of the year and unfortunately that falls right in the middle of a tour I had booked.
“So I am living in the moment, I am embracing in the moment and I am flowing with the vibes.”
Jessie announced that her UK and European tour dates have been postponed until April 2026, but the US gigs have been cancelled due to rescheduling difficulties.
She added: “I haven’t been able to finesse the US dates yet so unfortunately that will be cancelled but I’m spending all my time trying to find time to make the venues make sense again in a slab of time next year.
“Please bear with us for the US tour, it is something I want to do but when the time is right. You guys know how much I want to do all of it but I just can’t and have to be realistic.”
The Domino singer is “frustrated and sad” about having to postpone the gigs, but believes it’s a necessary step for her wellbeing.
Jessie said: “I’m so sorry, I feel frustrated and sad. But also it is what it is. I need to be better, I need to be healed and this is the right decision to make so I am postponing the tour until next year.”
She added: “I am trying to be in the moment and compartmentalise all the different things that are happening in my life and where I have to give the energy.
“But I have to heal so forgive me. I am sorry this sucks, but I know you probably knew this was coming. I love you all so much, I’m going to go before I cry my eyes out.”
