Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy marked what would have been his 32nd birthday with touching new photos and videos of the late singer.
The former One Direction star tragically passed away aged 31 on October 16 last year, after plunging from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires.
Influencer Kate posted a heartwarming video montage featuring their most cherished moments together, with Liam captured laughing and messing about in most clips. The footage included snippets from their getaways, romantic evenings, relaxed moments at home and much more.
Kate wrote a poignant caption alongside the emotional video: “8.29.93. A special day for the most special soul. I miss you so much. Happy Birthday, Liam. I wish we could celebrate together. In the next life I guess.”
Supporters rushed to offer their comfort, with one person commenting: “Sending you so much love, light and healing your way.”
One devastated fan expressed: “I literally crying my eyes out right now. It’s so unfair. Liam should celebrate his 32 Birthday with you here on earth. I hope he is celebrating in heaven until you guys meet again. Love to you.”, reports the Mirror.
Another wrote: “Thinking of you and sending so much love.”
Hours later, she returned to her social media to post a collection of photographs of the pair. The opening image showed a beaming Liam leaping across the grass.
She also featured pictures of them at a counter purchasing doughnuts and sprawled out in the snow. In one tender photograph, Kate had her leg draped around him as she cuddled him close.
“My dearest Liam, It breaks my heart being that I can’t hand you a physical birthday card today,” the model penned. “That I can’t hear your laugh, or tell you all the things I wish I’d said a thousand more times.
“I’ve been struggling to find the right words, but I’ll start with the most obvious, happy birthday. Today, you would have been 32. In your 31 years here on this earth you brought so much joy, happiness and hope to so many- especially to me.
“I hope you know how brightly you still shine, even from up there. I would give up years of my life just to give you a few more. I miss making memories with you. I miss having things to look forward to together.
“But today, my birthday gift to you is my strength. I promise you I will celebrate you extra today, honour your life, and cherish the beautiful times we’ve had. August 29th will be a date that sits in my heart for the rest of my life. I love you so much. Yours, Katelyn.”
Liam and Kate’s romance spanned nearly two years, with the couple stepping out together on the red carpet for the first time in 2022. Following his passing, Kate disclosed they were envisioning a future together and had even broached the topic of marriage.
