Journalist and TV star Julia Bradbury has posted a video of herself topless and issued a very important message to her followers after battling a serious health scare
Julia Bradbury has a very good reason for showing fans her breast implants.
She recently took to Instagram to share a video of herself topless and in the caption Julia wrote: “Why am I showing you my breast implant? Because I took a Polygenic Risk Score test after my breast cancer diagnosis and I want to explain why.”
Julia said that her diagnosis “changed her life” and left her with “questions about how to reduce the cancer coming back”. The PRS test “looks at small variations across your DNA to help assess your personal risk or recurrence of developing breast cancer”.
She informed fans that her results “showed a slightly higher genetic risk for recurrence” which helped her and her medical team “make more informed decisions” about her treatment going forward.
“If I had known I was at a higher risk of breast cancer, perhaps I would have proceeded differently when I first discovered my lump in my 50s,” she said before adding that she is an “advocate for making PRS and SNP testing more widely available on the NHS.”
She ended her post by writing: “Let’s give more people the tools to make informed decisions about their health. PRS tests for breast cancer are available privately in the UK through services like @preventbreastcancer partner @everythinggeneticltd. I’m not associated with this test and the test I did for my documentary Julia Bradbury: Breast Cancer & Me was done via Professor Gareth Evans lab by @antegenes.”
Fans rushed to her comment section to praise the journalist for raising awareness. One person wrote: “Excellent and proactive post! I’m off for a biopsy tomorrow,” while another said: “So true…thanks for your honesty and openness. By sharing more you save lives and advocate for positive changes in the health system, especially in regard to testing and screening.”
“The best ever on TV Julia, I have full respect, love you,” typed one fan as another said: “It’s good that you’re sharing this information.”
