EXCLUSIVE: Radio heavyweight Nick Ferrari has turned down an eye-watering deal to take part in I’m a Celebrity, according to a show insider, wanting to ‘enjoy time with family’
Nick Ferrari has turned down a big-money deal to do I’m A Celebrity. The radio presenter was offered a whopping £200,000 to be a campmate on this year’s series, but it didn’t convince him.
Bosses were keen to get him to sign up because they are convinced he’d be TV gold. A show insider said: “Producers think Nick would be a brilliant campmate because he’s super smart and he isn’t afraid to say what he thinks. He’s also interviewed a lot of high-profile politicians, so he might spill gossip about what really goes on in Westminster.
“But even a massive offer hasn’t convinced him. Nick has just got married, so he wants to enjoy time with family.”
Nick, who is also a regular on This Morning, isn’t ruling out taking part in the future. The insider added: “There is a possibility Nick will agree to do the show another year, but it would need to be the right time.”
Show chiefs are splashing the cash to get a top-notch line-up for the new series. Stars tipped to take part include Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley, boxer Tommy Fury and former EastEnders actress Shona McGarty.
Ant and Dec will be back as hosts for the series, which will kick off in November on ITV1.
Previously, a Hollyoaks actor said she wanted to be the next soap star in the jungle. Chelsee Healey is ready to pack her bags and head into camp as a contestant on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.
Asked if she’d do it, Chelsee previously told Daily Star: “Oh for sure. That has always been one that I’d love to do, so yeah. I am game for a challenge!”.
By doing I’m A Celeb Chelsee would be following in the footsteps of pals Coleen Rooney and Tulisa who have been in camp in 2024.
Chelsee praised Tulisa before her jungle stint, revealing she hoped the X Factor judge would make it to the final with Coleen.
Speaking before the 2024 series kicked off, she said: “I obviously know Tulisa that’s going in so I’ll be supporting her, and Coleen. I hope them two both do amazing! They’re both fighters so I think they’re going to be fabulous.
“I wish them all the luck in the world. I think they’re going to be amazing. They’ve got that fighting mentality. I’m hoping that both of them will be in the final and I think that they will be.”
