The Season 12 Islander has just announced her next career move, and she has been flooded with support from her former ITV co-stars
Love Island favourite Yasmin Pettet has revealed her next career move following her villa exit, and she’s treading the same path as some major celebrities.
The Season 12 contestant finished third in the summer series with partner Jamie Rhodes, just behind runners-up Shakira Khan and Harry Cooksley. Meanwhile, Toni Laites and Cach Mercer claimed the series crown.
Now, the breakout star – lovingly nicknamed YasGPT by viewers – has disclosed her upcoming plans. Taking to her Instagram stories, she hinted that the “cat’s out the bag” as she shared a post revealing she had signed with a globally renowned modelling agency, reports OK!
Storm Management announced today (September 1) that they were now representing the ex-Islander, handling “Yasmin’s PR, social partnerships, branding and collaborations, television, modelling, licensing and creative strategy.”
Their statement declared: “Yasmin Pettet captured attention on Love Island before graduating the show with a groundbreaking editorial for the iconic i-D Magazine which subsequently broke the internet. Since then, she has already collaborated with major names including Marc Jacobs and Rimmel.”
“With passions spanning fashion, beauty, and fitness, Yasmin’s fearless, edgy aesthetic positions her within the new wave of British It girls; challenging conventions and breaking the mould.”
The modelling and talent agency is renowned for spotting supermodel Kate Moss at an airport, initially signing her when she was just a teenager. Although the star departed Storm in 2016 after 28 years, it continues to represent some of the world’s most celebrated and instantly recognisable models.
Her fellow islanders were swift to flood the comments section with their praise, with Love Island winner Toni simply writing: “Slayyyyyyyyyyy,” whilst runner-up Shakira chimed in: “You go baby.”
Meanwhile, Yasmin’s boyfriend Jamie shared a heartfelt message stating: “Congratulations darling,” paired with a heart emoji, as Shakira’s partner Harry commented: “Niceeee Yazzzyyy,” complete with a clapping emoji.
Gio Russo, who entered Love Island’s summer series as a bombshell, also offered his encouragement, posting: “Love it Yas, congratulations.”
Fans of the series were also quick to share their excitement at the announcement, as one commented: “She is so high fashion I’m obsessed,” while a second jumped in with: “As an Aquarius girl, KNEW she’d do it different [sic].”
