Louis Theroux has once again set the internet buzzing – but this time for a supposed hidden talent of his.

Instead, the documentary king had fans convinced he was secretly a drumming maestro after a slick new clip surfaced online.

The journalist, 55, who is best known for his BBC documentaries and accidental foray into the charts with My Money Don’t Jiggle Jiggle, shared a reel to his 2.3 million Instagram followers that left many baffled.

In the video, Louis appears to be sat behind a full drum kit, sticks in hand, casually knocking out a faultless rhythm as if he’s been touring with rock bands. With his trademark glasses on and a calm, focused expression, the star looks every inch the seasoned musician.

The caption teased fans further, with Louis writing: “New hobby unlocked.”

One stunned fan commented: “I knew Louis was talented but this is next level. Drummer goals.”

Another follower said: “Okay but when is the world tour starting? Jiggle Jiggle with live drums incoming!”

A third joked: “You’ve done it all Louis, documentaries, rapping, and now you’re a rock god.”

However, as many eagle-eyed viewers quickly realised, all was not as it seemed. Louis had actually been using a drumming simulator filter which had cleverly synced visuals that make it appear as though he was performing in perfect time, when in fact no real drumming was taking place.

That didn’t stop the comments from pouring in, with some fans admitting they were fooled at first. “I legit thought this was real for a good 30 seconds,” admitted one. “Louis you got me.”

Another commented: “Doesn’t matter if it’s fake, I’d still buy tickets to see this man on stage.”

The lighthearted moment comes after a busy year for the broadcaster, who recently confirmed a new run of Louis Theroux Interviews is on the way, featuring another round of A-list guests.
