Eamonn Holmes appeared frail in London, needing nearly 10 minutes and assistance to get into his car, sparking concern over the 65-year-old presenter’s health
Eamonn Holmes was seen appearing “frail” as he required “almost 10 minutes” to be assisted into his vehicle in central London.
The seasoned Irish presenter, 65, was photographed on Friday (September 5) near the rear entrance of Selfridge’s department store, where he was helped into a waiting car.
Images show Eamonn dressed in a casual blue cardigan, supported by another gentleman while leaning on a walking aid. His slow movements and visible reliance on assistance sparked concern among onlookers, with one witness describing the broadcaster as “very old and frail.”
The eyewitness added: “He looked like he was struggling and needed someone with him every step of the way. It took Eamonn about 10 minutes to get into the car with assistance.”
Holmes has openly battled health problems in recent years, including chronic back pain following slipped discs and ongoing mobility issues which have often required him to use a stick or frame. His health struggles have sometimes forced him to step back from presenting duties, though he has remained a prominent presence on screen.
Best known for his long stint co-hosting ITV’s This Morning alongside his now ex-wife Ruth Langsford, the Belfast-born presenter moved to GB News in December 2021, where he fronts the channel’s breakfast programme.
In May 2024, Holmes and Langsford announced the end of their 14-year marriage, confirming their separation in a joint statement. Despite the personal challenges, he has continued to appear in the public eye, though often sparking speculation and concern about his condition.
More recently, Eamonn has been linked romantically to relationship therapist Katie Alexander, 43. Reports surfaced over the summer suggesting the pair had grown close, though neither has publicly commented on the nature of their relationship.
Holmes, a much-loved figure in British broadcasting, first began his career with Ulster Television before becoming a household name fronting GMTV and later ITV’s daytime line-up. His health and wellbeing remain of great interest to fans, many of whom have expressed support and well-wishes following the latest photographs of him looking unsteady in London.
