Dermot O'Leary to become dad for the first time as wife Dee falls pregnant

Dermot O’Leary is about to see his family grow, as he revealed he is going to become a dad for the first time.

The 46-year-old announced over Instagram today that his wife Dee Koppang O’Leary was expecting a baby.

He said: “Koppang O’Leary productions presents ‘new arrival’ coming soon.”

Before adding: “We’re pleased to announce that we’re expecting a little Koppang O’Leary…”

The X Factor host was bombarded with well-wishes from his celeb pals, delighted to hear the happy news.

This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford said: “How wonderful! Congrats both.”

Holby City star Lisa Faulkner added: “Congratulations such lovely news!!!”

And Holly Willoughby gushed: “This is just such wonderful news… love you both.”

Dermot and Dee broke the news over Twitter

Minutes after sharing the sweet post, the happy couple walked the red carpet at the British Academy Film Awards 2020 Nominees’ Party.

Smiling side-by-side, Dee’s baby bump was hidden by a retro black and white cocktail dress.

Dermot and Dee first met 18 years ago, with the TV personality popping the question on a trip to New York in 2011.

The following year, the sweethearts said “I do” at an intimate ceremony in St Mary’s Church in Chiddingstone, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

Speaking to Fabulous magazine in 2015, Dermot opened up about their plans to have children down the line.

He told the publication: “I definitely want kids, but I’ve got a very busy wife with a very busy life.

“It’s not fair for me to say, ‘I want kids now’. I do want kids with my wife, but I want them when we both think it’s the right thing to happen.”

Congratulations Dermot and Dee!
