Beyonce branded 'rude' as she and Jay Z 'snub' Demi Lovato's US national anthem at Super Bowl

Singer Demi Lovato performed a stunning rendition of the US national anthem at the Super Bowl this evening in front of millions of viewers.

Fans took to social media to confess that Demi’s rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner left them in tears, but it appears that not everyone was impressed.

According to TMZ, Beyoncé, Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy remained seated while Demi belted out the American anthem.

The Carter clan were at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday as the San Francisco 49ers took on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Blue Ivy, 8, sat together a few rows back from the field and were clearly unbothered about standing during the National Anthem while other fans were on their feet.

In a video posted by the US site, the famous family stayed sitting down as Demi took to the pitch.

The family’s decision to stay seated raised eyebrows as Jay-Z’s company Roc Nation holds a partnership with the NFL giving him a say in what performers plat at major NFL events – including the Super Bowl.

Jay-Z’, 50, and Beyoncé’s decision to stay seated have not gone down well with fans.

Taking to Twitter, one fan said: “This behaviour is how they thank American. Rude.”

A second moaned: “They became prosperous here but disrespect the hand that fed them.”

While a third said: “This is disgusting.”

Beyoncé, 38, dressed to the nines for her visit to the game wearing a green power suit and a pair of mini white sunglasses.

The Single Ladies singer headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2013 and appeared on the same stage alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars in 2016.

Mrs Carter just relaxed this time though and watched Jennifer Lopez and Shakira perform during the iconic Pepsi halftime show slot.

The Latin duo performed a host of songs from their back catalogue including Hips Don’t Lie and Jenny From The Block.

As well as wowing viewers by performing a medley of their hits, the superstars both wowed fans with their skimpy outfits.

Jennifer, 50, in particular, added the sex factor by entering the stadium on a pole.
