Love Island’s summer series could be shelved following Caroline Flack’s death.
ITV bosses are yet to make a decision surrounding the future of the show, which airs on ITV2, but bosses decided to not air Sunday’s episode out of respect to Caroline’s family.
The show will return tonightwith a tribute to the former Love Island presenter.
According to a source, ITV held a six-hour crisis talk over whether the show would continue after Caroline, who fronted five Love Island series, killed herself in her London home on Saturday 15 February.
“The tragic news about Caroline saw a last-minute meeting called,” an insider told The Sun.

“Love Island is commercially huge but those with vested interests are concerned about its effect.
“There was talk of resting it for a series and even taking it out of production for the foreseeable future.”
The popular dating show, which launched in 2015, has been previously been linked to three deaths, and has come under-fire for their aftercare policy.

Love Island bosses faced mounting pressure from viewers and social media users who have called for the show to be axed completely.
Following the death of a Jeremy Kyle contestant last year, which saw the programme shelved indefinitely, many pleaded with ITV execs to rethink carrying on Love Island.
After the death of Mike Thalassitis, more aftercare was introduced including compulsory one-to-one therapy sessions and money management training.
