Katie Hopkins has been slammed for posting a “hateful” tweet about Caroline Flack’s death.
The former Apprentice star is well known for her controversial opinions and tweets, but social meda users said she was “scraping the barrel” this time.
Katie, 45, was blasted by social media users for tweeting: “Oh, how we all laughed. Will #CarolinesLaw just be for people you agree with?” above two pictures of her accepting a fake award next to YouTuber Josh Pieters.
The commentator was seeming to suggest that she deserves sympathy and protection for her treatment on social media.
But people were quick to call out Hopkins, with one person telling her: “Katie Hopkins makes a living writing and saying hateful things about people under the guise of ‘free speech’.

“People need protection against her not the other way round.”
Another user wrote: “No-one in their right mind is going to have sympathy for you over this, you’ve made your bed. Seriously scraping the barrel.”
“I think the difference Katie Hopkins is that #CarolineFlack did not spread hatred and bile against other people,” said another user.

Some, however, were quick jump to Katie’s defence as one user wrote: “I don’t find it the least bit funny. You have my sympathy. Humiliating people isn’t my thing but maybe you should think about how others feel sometimes”, while another added: “Who cares about them, forget about it… We Love You Katie.”
Katie was recently pranked into collecting a fake ‘C**T’ award in Prague by YouTube sensation Pieters.
She was invited to accept an award dubbed the Campaign to Unify the Nation Trophy – which Pieters said she was “delighted” to accept.

Following her suspension from Twitter, Pieters took to his own account to tell followers: “Now that Katie Hopkins can’t read Twitter, I can tell you that on Monday I made her fly to Prague to pick up a completely fake award. Video up shortly”
The ten-minute video clip included several of Katie’s controversial tweets as well as footage of her voicing her opinions.
In the video, Katie says: “I am not used to receiving awards, it is strange, and it’s strange to hear nice things said about yourself.
“You sit there and you think, ‘Wait a minute, are they saying that about me?’ Whereas normally it is an incoming deluge of fireballs coming my way so it’s kind of an odd thing for that to be tipped on its head, but I really do appreciate it.”

Caroline Flack, 40, was found dead in her east London home on Saturday after taking her own life.
The former Love Island presenter stepped down from hosting the show after she was alleged to have assaulted her boyfriend, Lewis Burton, 27, in their north London home.
An ITV spokeswoman said: “Everybody at Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news.
“Caroline was a much loved member of the Love Island team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends.”
