Lewis Capaldi kicked off the gongs at tonight’s BRIT Awards 2020, as he scooped the award for Best New Artist.
The BRITs crowd excitedly chanted “Lewis, Lewis, Lewis!,” as he got set to head to the stage.
Lewis, 23, held a can of Red Stripe beer, as he went to collect his award.
But the audience and viewers at home were left disappointed, as Lewis’ speech was completely muted, so fans weren’t able to hear his eagerly-anticipated acceptance speech.

Fans flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the muted moment.
One social networker said: “Sorry what did Lewis Capaldi say in his acceptance speech?”
While another continued: “I only tuned in to see Lewis Capaldi and what would have been an amusing acceptance speech & you f*****g mute.”
A third remarked: “Why did you block Lewis Capaldi’s speech guys?!”
Some Twitter users who were at the BRITs said Capaldi’s speech was muted due to him dropping the F-bomb.
Lewis reportedly said, while swigging from his can: “Thank you very f*****g much!”

Lewis’ memorable BRITs appearance comes after he shared a brutal rejection text earlier today.
The popular singer took to his Instagram page to share a message he received when he was trying to make it back in the day.
He posted a screenshot of the message to his story, it said: “I’d like to give you some constructive criticism here as I’m guessing your new-ish to the scene. To be honest, you need to work on your approach here, the first line put me off, ‘looking for paid gigs’, and your whole profile shouts amateur.
“You’re trying to cover too many bases and there really isn’t a genre ‘singer/songwriter’… and we often have people up dancing to our stuff.

“And I’d have a hard time getting people interested in ‘Adam and Lewis’ so I’d sort that out too.
“Hope you don’t think that’s me being harsh, I’m trying to help you guys as playing live music is awesome and well done for having some balls.”
Good on you Lewis for proving them wrong!
