Caroline Flack's boyfriend Lewis Burton shows off head injury that 'proves her innocence'

Caroline Flack tragically took her own life on Saturday aged 40, reportedly soon after it was confirmed to her that the CPS would be continuing with her assault charge.

Since, the CPS has defended pursuing Caroline’s case while dropping a similar case against footballer Nicky Butt.

But a newly released photograph of the alleged victim, her boyfriend, Lewis Burton’s head, is said to “show clearly there was no head injury”.

In the photo, Lewis, 27, can be seen parting his hair to reveal what appears to be some small scabs on his scalp.

A source told The Sun: “The picture shows clearly there was no head injury so there was no ‘violent attack’ with a lamp as claimed by the CPS – all the blood was from Caroline.”

The source claimed: “She was not well mentally, she was exhausted and had been drinking heavily and even warned officers at the time she would kill herself.

“But police and prosecutors ignored medical evidence.”

The source also claimed that despite prosecutors knowing the blood pictured in the bedroom was Caroline’s and not Lewis’, they continued with their questioning.

They said: “She was clearly unfit to be questioned and should have been given psychiatric help instead of a grilling.”

Since Caroline’s death, her management team have hit out at the CPS for pushing through with the trial.

However a spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service said: “Our deepest sympathies go to the family and friends of Caroline Flack.

“Given the tragic circumstances, we will not comment on the specifics of this case at this stage.”

An inquest into Caroline’s death was opened today.
