Joey Essex among the latest stars to sign up for Celebrity SAS: Who Dare Wins

After a successful first-run on Channel 4 last year, the popular programme is set to return to screens in the coming weeks.

The first season saw 12 celebrities brave harsh conditions and tasks set upon them by Ant Middleton, 39, and Jason Fox, 43.

And now, Joey Essex is among the latest names to sign up for the Celebrity version of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

According to The Sun, the former TOWIE star, 29, is now believed to be gearing up for one of his biggest challenge yet.

Joey will reportedly join YouTube star Jack Maynard who was announced as one of the new cast members earlier this week by The Sun.

Sports presenter Helen Skelton and Rudimental’s DJ Leon Rolle are also both said to have signed up to take part in the popular new show.

The latest celebrity addition of SAS will help air with the aim of raising money for Stand Up To Cancer.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “It’s for charity, and a huge challenge, so there are celebs lining up to get on it.”

The newly-announced celebs will be joined by former Wimbledon footballer John Fashanu and ex boxer Tony Bellow.

Reality TV sensation and former glamour model Katie Price was also due to take part, but reportedly pulled out after two days.

Katie is said to have turned her back on the opportunity, despite the fact she would receive a £120,000 paycheque.

Speaking to The Sun back in October, a source revealed that Katie was banking on this show to “turn her life around”.

“Katie was relying on this to turn her career around.

“She wanted to show the public that she can reinvent herself in a similar way to how she did in the Jungle back in 2004.

“She had all her hair braided to enable her to get really stuck in, but when she discovered she was going to be in Scotland she lost all motivation.”

The source also confessed that the former Celebrity Big Brother star was “not bothered about the money”.

The star previously hinted she was taking part in a “top secret project,” as she shared clues on her various social media accounts.

“I’ve got five weeks to go for this particular thing I’m training for. Now today when I go to the gym there’s thing that I have to do like this training list.”
