Warren Brown has quit hit drama Liar, Hot TV can reveal.
The actor was too busy to reprise his role as cop Tom Bailey.
He said: “Being part of Liar was a great job. But I won’t be in the new series unfortunately. I couldn’t do because of schedules and my availability.”
Hunky Warren originally signed up to return, but the show’s leading lady Joanne Froggatt is in such high demand that filming had to be delayed.
And when a production schedule was finally confirmed, it clashed with his commitments on the action series Strike Back. Warren said: “The second series was originally scheduled to be filmed in the early part of 2019. But because Joanne is so busy, it got pushed back and pushed back to the point where it clashed with Strike Back.
“That meant I couldn’t do it. This has happened to me before on other jobs.
“Sometimes you can make it work and do two shows at the same time.
“But because Strike Back is filmed abroad, it just didn’t work out.
“We did look into the idea of me doing Liar for a little bit, but in the end it just wasn’t possible. Strike Back is so full-on.”

The 41-year-old actor added. “You don’t do a few days and then have some time off – it’s relentless.
“So there wasn’t time for me to go back to film for Liar.”
Bosses were forced to write out Warren’s character for the new series, which starts on ITV on March 2.
Over the years, Warren has been in a string of other hits including Luther and Shameless.
He said: “I’m super lucky. It’s been non-stop for me the past few years and I’m very grateful for that.”
Strike Back returns on Tuesday at 9pm on Sky One.
