Peter Kay to make hosting comeback after two-year break from the spotlight

Peter Kay is making a comeback after two years away from the showbiz circuit.

The Lancashire-born comedian will be DJ’ing at a string of Dance for Life stage shows in April and May this year.

Dance for Life events are charity dance-a-thons.

Peter Kay’s Twitter page shared a post this morning announcing the exciting news.

The tweet read: “Peter Kay’s #DanceForLife is back! The charity dance-a-thon announces 2020 dates, including Manchester and London for the very first time. Raising money for Cancer Research UK.”

A follow-up tweet read: “Why not set up Dance For Life JustGiving page to get sponsored for their dance-a-thon, whether in support or memory of friends and family, or simply to help raise money for @cancerresearchuk. Further info and to join Peter’s fundraising team visit.”

The Dance for Life Just Giving page states Kay is “returning to the decks”.

Peter’s last stage appearance was when he spoke to an audience, who had come to watch a TV screening of his much-loved BBC show, Car Share in April 2018.

The three screenings of the programme were all held to raise money for The Lily Foundation, which supports children with mitochondrial disease.

The Phoenix Nights star was pictured for the first time in eight months on December 27.

Peter, 46, was all smiles as he posed with X Factor star Chico at the Crewe Lyceum Theatre, as he went to watch the Chico Time singer alongside Canon and Ball for a production of Peter Pan.

Chico shared the photo on his Instagram page, and captioned it: “When Peter Kay pops in to see us #panto with the legends that are Cannon and Ball life is complete.”
