Saturday Night Takeaway fans gobsmacked over 'expensive' Ant McPartlin blunder

Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway fans flocked to Twitter this evening after they were left completely shocked over a major gaffe Ant McPartlin made at the start of the programme.

Ant and Declan Donnelly got involved with X Factor star Ella Henderson’s opening performance to the show, and were onstage with hand-held cameras filming her performance.

Once Ella’s song wrapped, Ant went to throw the camera he was using back at the camera crew.

But chaos ensued, as Ant’s aim was completely off, seeing the camera smash to the ground, missing the hands of the awaiting film crew.

The camera team then did a close-up shot of the camera lying in pieces on the floor.

A sheepish-looking Ant joked: “Just screw it back together!”

While narrator Greg James remarked: “That looked expensive!”

And viewers were just as quick to remark on the awkward moment too, and flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One viewer remarked: “Er yeah if that was a real camera Ant just broke then that looked VERY expensive See-no-evil monkey #SaturdayNightTakeaway”

While another continued: “Did Ant mean to throw the camera?”

A third added: “I can’t believe Ant threw that camera like he was throwing a football back to someone and Dec’s scream is the funniest thing.”

While a fourth remarked: “No at Ant breaking the camera!”

Elsewhere in the programme the cheeky duo played the “Cringe” segment.

Viewers said they felt like “vomiting” after Rob and Anette had a very passionate French kiss live on TV, as their children watched on from the comfort of their sofas at home,

Their kids had to watch them lock lips without saying the word “cringe” to win a holiday for all the family, and they were able to get through the toe-curling moment.

Viewers took to Twitter to comment on the moment.

One viewer vented: “Watching the couple eat each other on #SaturdayNightTakeaway, just when the show couldn’t get more cringe worthy I can still taste the vomit #Eww #Disgusting”

While another continued: “Those parents going hammer and tongues (literally) at that snog didn’t just make their kids cringe. I’m a grown woman. I’ve been about. And that was rank. #SaturdayNightTakeaway”
