Eggheads legend Dave Rainford’s final Facebook post has emerged after the popular quizzer’s sad death.
The news of the 49-year-old TV star’s passing was reported yesterday, but it wasn’t made clear when he died.
His last Facebook post was on March 2, and it showed Eggheads star’s funny nature as well as revealing some of his health problems before his passing.
The star’s last post on the social media site read: “What a disgrace that the lift wasn’t working at the Palace Theatre last night.
“It was impossible for me to get access to my seat. The b*****ds upgraded it to a free box and gave us free drink all night.”

His friend Tim Shires reportedly told that this was typical of the quiz master’s sense of humour and optimism.
Tim said: “Dave Rainford was one of life’s genuine nice guys,” he wrote.
“Still can’t get over today’s news he has passed away. Just a few days ago he posted this on Facebook. He never let any obstacles get in his way and kept a sense of humour throughout.”
It didn’t reveal the cause of the star’s death but showed he had struggles with walking.

Dave was forced to leave Eggheads last year following an unconfirmed illness.
The quizzer was a regular on the show, and host Jeremy Vine paid tribute to the knowledgable tv star.
He said in a heartfelt statement on Twitter to his 723,3000 followers: “I’m very sad to hear that one of the Eggheads has died.
“Dave ‘Tremendous Knowledge’ Rainford, famous for being banned from pub quiz machines in Manchester, was the best company after a recording: always fun and sociable. I never saw him angry or ungenerous, not one. RIP.”

The Chase star Paul Sinha also took to social media to pay tribute to his quizzing pal.
He said: “Devastated at the loss of my friend, David Rainford. Egghead, great bloke, great friend. We had blindingly good nights out mate. X”
While fellow Chaser Anne Hegarty added: “Very sad to learn that Tremendous Knowledge Dave Rainford of #Eggheads has died. One of the nicest people I ever knew. Never a bad word about anyone.”
