Love Island host Laura Whitmore lands £1m deal to present upcoming series

Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore has reportedly landed a jaw-dropping £1million deal to host the next summer series of the sizzling dating show.

Laura, 34, is reported to be returning to the ITV2 reality show later this year, as well as coming back to host the spin-off show Aftersun.

The Irish babe took over hosting Love Island after former presenter and her friend Caroline Flack took her own life on February 15.

Caroline was aged 40 when she tragically died, months after being arrested and charged over an alleged assault last December.

A source alleged to The Sun: “Laura was an instant hit on Love Island, and when the winter series wrapped, the producers knew straight away they wanted her back.

“She’s a real professional, with a easy camera manner, and they love the combination of her hosting with her boyfriend —Iain Stirling — providing commentary.

“The package is worth £1million, which includes Laura’s salary and expenses for both the summer series of Love Island this year and the winter series next year. It is expected to be signed off in the coming weeks.”

The source continued: “Laura joined the show under exceptionally difficult circumstances, and had to carry on through her own grief after Caroline passed away.

“But she has handled everything with professionalism and grace, and at times really held things together. There is no one else they want to take on this role and Laura’s team know that so they have made sure the package is very generous.”

During the Love Island final, Laura made a heartfelt tribute to her dear friend Caroline after her tragic death.

She said in a moving piece to camera: “This week has been extremely difficult coming to terms with the loss of our friend and colleague, Caroline.

“We’re thinking of her family and everyone who knew at this time.

“Caroline loved Love Island. She loved love and that’s why tonight’s final is dedicated to her.”
