Lewis Capaldi gives fan 'best night of her life' after inviting tot backstage

Lewis Capaldi gave one lucky fan a night she won’t forget ahead of his sold-out gig at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena over the weekend.

Known for his kind nature and amusing tweets, it’s clear to see that Lewis values those who support him and that was evident when meeting schoolgirl Charly Bisset.

Charly, 8, got the chance to hang out with her idol for 20 minutes before the 23-year-old took to the stage for his sold-out arena show.

Last year, Charly was battling acute lymphoblastic leukaemia when she suddenly received a surprise video call from the Someone You Loved hitmaker.

After singing along to his worldwide number 1, Lewis began serenading the schoolgirl.

Lewis invited his number one fan to his sold-out gig for a meet and greet

Niall Horan’s best pal promised his number one fan that he would arrange tickets for his SSE Hydro Gig on March 5th and kept to his word by phoning the Bisset family home, inviting them on a special trip.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Charly’s dad, Mark said: “Lewis kept his word after the initial video call when he promised to get her to his show and meet him in person.

“It was Monique, a nurse who looked after Charly, who started it all off, as she is a close childhood friend of Lewis.”

He continued: “My wife Kirsty got a call from Lewis and his manager to invite us up that night.

“It was a moment we’ll never forget.

“Charly got so excited she couldn’t breathe and we had to calm her down.

“Her older sisters were in complete hysteria.”

Charly and her family made the journey from their hometown, Peebles, to the SSE Hydro in Glasgow where they were escorted into a backstage carpet and then ushered into a backstage green room while she awaited the Scottish sensation.

Mark continued: “Two minutes later, he burst through the door shouting, ‘Hello'”.

Lewis stayed with the eight-year-old and her family for 20 minutes and happily posed for selfies with the group.

“He was asking Charly how she was getting on with her treatment and what’s been happening since he last spoke to her.”

The group were then escorted to their seats inside the packed arena and Rangers fanatic Charly was seated alongside Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths.

Her dad went on to say: “Charly said it was the best night of her life.

“She loved every minute of it and lost her voice singing along with every song.

“We can’t thank Lewis, his manager and the rest of the team enough for making Charly feel so special.

“And after the year she has had, she well and truly deserved it.”

Charly is now leukaemia free after a successful bone marrow transplant but still requires two years of further treatment.
