The 2020 Met Gala has been postponed indefinitely, chair Anna Wintour has confirmed.
The uber VIP event, which was due to be attended by some of the biggest names on the planet had been set to take place on May 4 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The evening was highly tipped as one of the first events Meghan Markle would make an appearance at after quitting the British Royal Family at the end of March.
Tickets for the annual event are reported to around $35,000 each, while a table at the event costs a staggering $200,000.
The New York Times report that a spokesperson for the museum has confirmed no new date or further plans for the party are in the pipeline.

The axe marks the first time that the Met Gala has ever been cancelled during Anna’s 25 years as chair.
Anna took over the role in 1995.
A source had previously told The Sun how Meghan has been keen to attend the event after her rocky time in the royal family.

“Naturally Meghan was one of the first names on the guest list, and Edward’s team are excited that the two will go together.
“Meghan is keen to step out occasionally without Harry so that she can establish herself once more in Hollywood.”
At the time of publication currently 1,543 people have tested positive for Coronavirus in the UK.

On Monday evening, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced new measures to protect the British people.
During a live press briefing, Johnson said: “We are now approaching the fast growth part of the upward curve without drastic action cases can double every five or six days.
“First we need to ask you, if you or anyone in your household has one of those symptoms then you should stay at home for 14 days, you should not go out, to buy food or essentials and other than for exercise, and at a safe distance from others.”
