Doja Cat Has Hilarious Response to a Fan Calling 'Say So' 'Boring'

    Instagram

The RnB singer/rapper performs a hard rock version of the chart-topping hit at the 2020 MTV EMAs, prompting a fan to wonder if she has other songs than ‘Say So’.

    Nov 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Doja Cat was among the performers at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Videos which took place on Sunday, November 8. For the annual event, the singer/rapper performed her chart-topping singer “Say So”, though she put a hard rock twist on the song.
She kicked off her performance by crawling out of a big screen while donning a white dress. Doja, who sported gothic makeup for the performance, then belted out the notes in a garden full of white flowers.

While the performance was nothing but great, one fan apparently wasn’t satisfied. “does she have other songs? rhetoric question. this getting boring,” the person wondered. Doja seemingly caught wind of the diss as she took to her Twitter account to indirectly respond to it. “im tired of say so too yall,” so she wrote.

Fans were loving her reaction as one joked, “The way she tired if it she had to change the flow.” Another fan added, “love her personality.” Someone else wrote, “this was dope though, Evanescence vibes.” Loving the song and each version of it, a fan said, “She kills it EVERY TIME though!!!”
One user, meanwhile, hoped that it was a hint of new music, asking, “She gonna make new music? Or sum?” Another comment read, “She got other great songs y’all just too busy cancelling her to notice.”
The last comment referred to several controversies that Doja was involved in, one of which was when she was reported to be participating in “racist chat rooms” and used racial slur in a song from 2015. That led #dojaisoverparty to trend on Twitter with people cancelling the singer and slamming her for being racist.
Doja addressed the controversy in a now-deleted Instagram post in May. “I’ve used public chat rooms to socialize since I was a child. I shouldn’t have been on some of those chat room sites, but I personally have never been involved in any racist conversations. I’m sorry to everyone that I offended,” the singer wrote. “I’m a black woman. Half of my family is black from South Africa and I’m very proud of where I come from.”

Darius Rucker Talks Struggles as Black Country Singer: I'm Still Trying to Get on the Radio

    WENN/Judy Eddy

Despite being more than 30 years into his career, the former Hootie and The Blowfish frontman reveals that he still feels like starting over every time he puts out a single.

    Nov 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Darius Rucker still struggles to get airplay on country stations that won’t play his music because he’s black.
The 54-year-old “Wagon Wheel” singer and former Hootie & The Blowfish frontman tells People he’s “still trying to get on the radio” – more than 30 years into his career.
“I’m begging (for radio play),” he explains, of having to work hard every time he releases new material. “You’re praying that it (song) does something, and it’s still the same thing. So, I still don’t feel like I’ve made it,” says the hitmaker, adding that “a lot of the bigger stars don’t have to call every radio station.”
“I still got to be on every radio station. I still got to do all the work, and do all the stuff that you have to do to get your song to move (in) the charts. So I just feel like every time I put out a single, I feel like I’m starting over.”

Darius also recounted some of the disheartening responses he has received to his records.
“The first time I walked into (a country radio station) – nobody said they wouldn’t play it,” he said.
“What was said was, ‘I don’t think my audience will accept a black country singer.’ Just like that. ‘I love the song. I think it’s country. Love it. I’m going to play it tomorrow, but I don’t think my audience will accept a black country singer’,” adds the “Come Back Song” star.
“I go, ‘Wow. Really? I thought music was notes and words and chords. I didn’t know music was colour. I found that out today.'”
It’s not all bad news for Darius, though. He and Reba McEntire will co-host the CMA Awards airing live at 8 P.M. ET on Wednesday (November 11) from Nashville, Tennessee.

Nicki Minaj Retracts Denial of Leaked Davido Collaboration

    Instagram

After a two-minute version of the song titled ‘Full Ground’ leaks on the Internet, the ‘Anaconda’ raptress tweets that the snippet going online isn’t the real version of the song before deleting it.

    Nov 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Davido’s highly-anticipated collaboration with Nicki Minaj has leaked online. The full version of the song titled “Holy Ground”, which features the Trinidadian-born raptress, made its way out on the Internet after a shorter two-minute version of the track had been earlier posted on social media.
Following the leak of the snippet, the Harajuku Barbie denied that the leaked audio was the real version of the song. “Chile that ain’t no d**n Davido song. And the others aint beats I used. Must’ve been miki minach,” she tweeted. However, she later deleted the post from her Twitter page.
While it’s a shame that fans had to first listen to “Holy Ground” in bootleg version before it’s officially released as part of his upcoming album “A Better Time”, which is due out on November 13, that didn’t dampen fans’ enthusiasm of the collaboration. Taking to social media, they have raved about the song.
“Real or not real.. This song is too dope abeg if you know sabi good song. Just go and stick to akanchawa,” one fan responded to the leaked song. Another exclaimed, “Davido is a fvckin better singer than MJ!! I agree with @nengiofficial on that one for the first time! Holy ground ft Nicki Minaj [fire emojis].”
A third person was excited for the whole new album of Davido to drop, “Nah just leaked song, but he dey swallow albums already. Wait what will happen when the main album drop.” Another gushed about the “Dami Duro” singer’s voice, “Even if davido sneezes ..I am downloading …it’s the frog voice for me.”

Davido previously revealed how he took a chance at offering the collaboration with Nicki via DM. “Before this song, I had never spoken with Nicki. We were in a club in Abuja and I was really drunk and I had also just recorded this song. I was like ‘Nicki will kill this song,’ ” he recalled in an interview with Gbemi and Segun on Beat FM.
He went on sharing, “So I took my phone and DMed her. I said, ‘Nicki, I got a song for us. It’s gon’ go number one, I promise you’ in those exact words’. The next morning, [I saw a message from her which read], ‘send it.’ The next day, she sent it…”
Her collaboration with Davido aside, Nicki, who recently also appeared on “What That Speed About!?” with Mike Will Made It and YoungBoy Never Broke Again, is said to be working on another collaboration with some hot hip-hop stars. According to Daily Tea Talks, the 37-year-old femcee has a song together with Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch and DaBaby and they were shooting a music video for it on Sunday, November 8.

The news arrives as Nicki posted on her social media page a video of her getting her hair and makeup done, hinting that she’s working on something. The mother of one sported pink hair with blonde streak while looking at herself in the camera.

AceShowbiz – Ty Dolla $ign is back with new music. The project is a star-studded affair that brings together the rapper’s famous friends from various genres like R&B, rap, and EDM. Not afraid to take a dig at himself, he names the album “Featuring Ty Dolla $ign”, seemingly referring to his numerous works as a featured guest in the past.
The 38-year-old hip-hop star has hundreds of credits to his name as a feature artist, collaborating with the likes of Zendaya, Post Malone, Christina Aguilera, Nick Jonas, Fifth Harmony, Little Mix, and Bhad Bhabie. “Many people have said that when you see a song that says, ‘featuring Ty Dolla $ign,’ you know it’s gonna be fire,” he said. “As humbled as I am when I hear that, I can’t say I disagree.”

“My approach to music has always been about frequencies, emotions and energy. When I collaborate, whether it’s for my project or someone else’s, it’s always about marrying frequencies. When I create a project and have artists featured on my songs, I don’t pick who the hottest artist is or what’s going to get the most streams, I choose which artist’s frequency is going to work best on the song. I use featured artists with the same precision that I would use any instrument.”
Coming out three years after 2017’s “Beach House 3”, the album reunites him with Malone, Kanye West, Kehlani, Quavo, Nicki Minaj, Lil Durk, Big Sean, Skrillex, Young Thug, and Future. It also boasts collaborations with Anderson .Paak, Roddy Ricch, FKA twigs, and Kid Cudi.

    Nov 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Eddie Van Halen was saluted by his music peers in a special tribute during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame virtual induction ceremony on Saturday, November 7.
The Van Halen co-founder, who lost his battle with cancer last month, was remembered for his legacy in a special In Memoriam segment by his fellow guitar greats – Slash, Kirk Hammett, and Tom Morello.
As old footage of Eddie played onscreen, Slash told viewers: “Eddie Van Halen was a tremendously gifted musician. His style and his sound were completely unique to him. He had a massive impact on guitar playing. I don’t think there’s anybody that’s picked up the guitar since 1978 that hasn’t been touched in some way by Eddie Van Halen’s influence.”
“I’m going to miss his playing and I’m going to miss him as a friend.”

Meanwhile, Rage Against the Machine’s Morello declared Eddie the “Mozart of our generation”, stating, “He had the kind of talent that maybe comes around once a century.”
“Eddie Van Halen inspired me to play 20,000 hours, to try to get within 100 miles of his inspired mastery of the electric guitar.”
And Metallica star Hammett added, “Not since Jimi Hendrix had there been a guitar player that had so much impact, and was so inspiring to me. He just explored the most simplest thing – a harmonic on his string – and brought it into this realm of technique that no one even thought was possible. He was just, like, from a different planet.”
Van Halen were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
Saturday’s ceremony honoured 2020 inductees Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., Whitney Houston, Depeche Mode, T. Rex, and The Doobie Brothers.
