Bring me the Horizon and Evanescence Settle Lawsuit with Collaboration

    Instagram/WENN

The Oli Sykes-fronted band and the group led by Amy Lee team up in a new song for the former’s new studio project as they settle their legal feud over an illegal sample.

    Nov 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – Evanescence dropped a suit against fellow rockers Bring Me the Horizon when the Brits agreed to collaborate with singer Amy Lee.
Frontman Oli Sykes has revealed “One Day the Only Butterflies Left Will Be in Your Chest as You March to Your Death”, the band’s new song with Lee, only came about after she and her bandmates took legal action over an illegal sample.
“We got sued by them on our last record,” Sykes told NME.com. “On Nihilist Blues, we ripped off one of their verses. It was subconscious, but when it happened we were like, ‘We’re not even going to argue.’ ”
The band agreed to share a songwriting credit with Lee, and everything was quickly resolved.

“They (management) were like, ‘Amy really likes your band and would love to work with you’. That was the silver lining.”
Of the new track, Sykes adds, “The idea of the song is that I’m mankind and Amy is Mother Nature. It felt like the perfect thing to have the mother of rock singing it.”
The song “One Day the Only Butterflies” is featured in Bring Me the Horizon’s “Post Human: Survival Horror”. The first in a series of four EPs coming in the next year, the mini album was released in October this year.
Sykes said in a previous interview of their studio series, “They’ll each be totally different with their own sound and mood.” He continued, “That’s one thing we’ve never really done. There’s often been an over-arching theme on our records, but the music has always felt like a collage. That’s cool and I like it, but sometimes you want a soundtrack for a certain occasion and emotion.”

Village People Blast Donald Trump for Playing 'Y.M.C.A.' at Political Rallies

    Instagram

The band’s ringleader Victor Willis insists he and bandmates don’t support the Republican politician as they ask the POTUS to stop playing their music at his re-election campaign.

    Nov 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Village People leader Victor Willis has asked U.S. President Donald Trump to stop playing “Y.M.C.A.” and “Macho Man” at political rallies.
Trump’s use of the tracks was highlighted by social media users after videos of him dancing to the hits went viral online earlier this month (Oct20).
In an interview with BBC News, Willis said that the group have objected to Trump using their tracks – although he admits legally they cannot stop him due to licensing agreements.
“I don’t endorse Trump, I’ve never endorsed Trump, nor has the Village People,” he said. “Donald Trump does what Donald Trump does. I’ve never seen him actually put his hands up and make the Y.M.C.A. He’s changed it to M-A-G-A or something.”
The footage of Trump has become so widely ridiculed, it was highlighted by “Saturday Night Live” last week.

On “Saturday Night Live” last week (October 24), a Weekend Update segment focused on the subject of Trump – in a segment in which Keenan Thompson played Willis, singing a version of “Y.M.C.A.” that demanded he stops playing the song.
Other musicians who have objected to Trump’s use of their music include Elton John, Neil Young, and The Rolling Stones – with representatives of the estates of Tom Petty and Prince also raising objections.
Leonard Cohen, Linkin Park, Panic At the Disco, and R.E.M. also banned Trump and his team from using their songs.
R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe said, “Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign.”
PATD’s Brendon Urie issued a similar statement, “Donald Trump represents nothing we stand for…Dear Trump Campaign, F**k you. You’re not invited. Stop playing my song. No thanks, Brendon Urie, Panic! At The Disco & company.”

Beyonce's Fans 'Not Okay' After She Declares Goal to 'Slow Down' From Music

    Instagram

Social media users jump to conclusions that the ‘Drunk in Love’ songstress is retiring from the industry following her interview with British Vogue, in which she says that she wants to focus on her family.

    Oct 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Beyhive are not ready for a world without the voice of Beyonce Knowles. The R&B star’s fans have gone into frenzy after reading her interview with British Vogue, in which she shared her goals to slow down from music and spend more time with her family.
Thinking that the 39-year-old’s statement is a retirement announcement, people took to Twitter to express their grief over the news. “I’m not okay,” one person, who took the news hard, wrote, “Beyonce is my mother, if you gave birth to me, you can’t just retire like that.”
Another shocked fan tweeted, “Beyonce is retiring…. I can’t breather, someone check up on me.” A third one went as far as announcing the end of her/his Beyonce fan account as saying, “Hi everyone, this will be my last tweet. I guess beyonce is going to retire. I will leave stan twitter and focus on my school I really have so much fun, I am grateful for everything and everyone. If you give me your ig we can stay in contact+.”
Apparently having not read Bey’s new magazine interview, a confused fan asked, “why is everyone saying beyonce gonna retire stfu im gonna cry.” Another lamented how Beyonce’s supposed retirement has just made 2020 even more awful, “2020 done took Kobe (Kobe Bryant), gave us a global pandemic and these stupid mask, and now Beyonce wanna raise her kids and retire.”
Not ready to hear such news, someone else wrote, “I know it’s very selfish of me but I don’t want Beyonce to retire anytime soon. She gives me so much happiness that I feel like she was takes a break I’ll just be kinda sad without her doing anything.”

      See also…

However, some others thought that those who think Beyonce is retiring were making false assumption. “Why some streets say, Beyonce is going to retire, when still there’s two Netflix deals in the pipeline?!” one person pointed out.
“Y’all really think Beyonce would announce a retirement through a magazine lmaooooo and the fact y’all think Beyonce would retire is beyond me lmao,” another argued. Someone else thinks that Bey’s fans confused the Grammy-winning artist to another popular female star, “Not y’all thinking Beyonce gonna retire must got her confused with Rihanna.”

In the said interview, Beyonce explained how she has “absolutely changed” amid the coronavirus pandemic. “I truly cherish this time with my family, and my new goal is to slow down and shed stressful things from my life,” the mother of three shared, explaining how works have consumed most of her time since she was a teen, “I came into the music industry at 15 years old and grew up with the world watching, and I have put out projects nonstop.”
“It’s been heavy and hectic,” she added. “I’ve spent a lot of time focusing on building my legacy and representing my culture the best way I know how. Now, I’ve decided to give myself permission to focus on my joy.”

    Oct 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift has given U.S. politician Eric Swalwell permission to use her music in a new ad aimed at boosting voter turn-out ahead of the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
The pop star’s track “Only the Young” features in the latest ad for the Democrat’s Remedy PAC organisation, which also features a quote about voter suppression from vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
The video includes a montage of powerful social and political scenes that took place within the past four years under current President Donald Trump’s first term.

Taylor has yet to issue a comment about granting Swalwell access to her song, but he took to Twitter to thank her for the thumbs up.

“Up there’s the finish line. Our future is worth our fight. Thank you, @taylorswift13, for voicing what #OnlyTheYoung can do. Let’s run!” Representative Swalwell wrote on Friday (30Oct20).
Harris was also impressed, adding, “Thank you @TaylorSwift13 and my friend @EricSwalwell for showing young people what’s at stake in this election.”
Taylor also contributed a cover of Tom Petty’s “American Girl” to a video package for the Democratic National Convention, but “Only the Young” marks the first time she has authorised her original music for political use.
The singer became openly political in 2018 and most recently endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala in the U.S. presidential race, making it clear she was fervently anti-Trump.
“Everyone deserves a government that takes global health risks seriously and puts the lives of its people first,” Taylor said in her endorsement, published in V Magazine. “The only way we can begin to make things better is to choose leaders who are willing to face these issues and find ways to work through them… I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election. Under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs.”

Kanye West Unveils 'Nah Nah Nah' Remix Ft. DaBaby and 2 Chainz

    WENN/Instagram/WENN/Instar

The remix, which was first teased by the ‘Follow God’ rapper last week, marks Ye’s first collaboration with the ‘Rockstar’ hitmaker who has announced that he’s voting for West in the presidential election.

    Oct 30, 2020
AceShowbiz – DaBaby has sealed his endorsement of Kanye West with an appearance on the latter’s song “Nah Nah Nah”. The original song was released on October 16 as part of his planned album “Donda: With Child”, and he announced two days later that DaBaby did a remix version of it.
“DABABY TURNED THIS VERSE AROUND SO QUICK ITS INSPIRATIONAL TO SEE HOW FAST WE CAN MOVE AS A PEOPLE,” Ye gushed on Twitter about his collaborator last week. He included a 16-second snippet of DaBaby’s verse in the post, writing, “I HAD TO GIVE YALL AT LEAST A SNIPPET.”
In the original song, Kanye raps about his presidential run, his contract dispute with Universal Music Group, and his appearance on Nick Cannon’s podcast. Meanwhile, in the remix which also features 2 Chainz, DaBaby expresses his hope to make it big like the Yeezy designer as spitting, “Tryna make some shoes with Yeezy and Billion Dollar Baby clothing.”
DaBaby isn’t only keen on working with Kanye musically, but he has also shown his support for the “Gold Digger” rapper’s political ambition. Back in August, the “Rockstar” hitmaker announced that he’s voting for Ye in the upcoming presidential election. “Ima let y’all finish…. But you got me f**ked up you think I ain’t voting for Ye,” he tweeted while paying homage to Kanye’s infamous 2009 VMAs moment.

Kanye was recently reported to have spent $3 million on his presidential run. Reports stated earlier this month that he’s polling at 2 percent nationally, as he was deemed ineligible to get his name in the ballots in a number of states.
His White House run aside, Kanye recently hinted at the launch of his own Yeezy Christian Academy. The 43-year-old star tweeted on Wednesday, October 28 a video appearing to promote the institution.
It featured his daughter North and son Saint, his two elder children with wife Kim Kardashian, as well as their cousins, Kourtney Kardashian’s kids Mason and Penelope Disick, wearing blue T-shirts and pants, with the school’s initials, “YCA,” branded across the chest, as they gathered in a classroom, and run around outdoors.
“Dear Future, I still believe in you. We still believe in you. We believe in our families,” they chanted in the clip. “In our future, we will heal. Our future has homes for everyone. Our future has food for everyone. Our future has love. Jesus loves everyone. Let’s lead with love! Our future is waiting on us!”
