    Twitter

The ‘Jesus Is King’ rapper thanks God, fans, and his Christian friends as he is celebrating his multiple wins at the BBMAs, only weeks after he denounced Grammy Awards.

    Oct 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kanye West celebrated his Billboard Music Awards success with a video on his Instagram page.
The rapper, 43, thanked “God, fans and all of my Christians” after scooping four gongs at the awards show on Wednesday (14Oct20), including Top Gospel Artist, Top Christian Artist, Top Christian Album and Top Gospel Album.
Speaking while seated in an SUV, Kanye, who was unable to attend the awards show as he continues his U.S. presidential campaign, declared, “I wanted to just thank God for my nine Billboard nominations, it’s the most of the night… the four wins.”
“Thank the Billboard Awards, thank all of my fans, thank all of my Christians that’s been praying for me, praying for the day when I would serve the Kingdom,” he added. “You know, God just keeps showing up. The incredible increase and the favour.”

It will no doubt come as a relief to Billboard bosses that Kanye was happy with his awards haul, weeks after Kanye shared a clip of himself urinating on his Grammy Awards, after publishing screenshots of his contract with Def Jam Music Group, which is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group.
The rapper is fighting for the opportunity to buy back his masters from bosses at the company.
Despite Kanye claiming to get the most awards, Post Malone was actually the one leading the winners. The “Congratulations” hitmaker collected nine nods out of 16 nominations this year.

  • John Fogerty Slaps Donald Trump Campaign With Cease and Desist for Use of 'Fortunate Son'

In a tweet, the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman also voices his objection that the President uses his words and his voice to portray a message that he does not endorse.

    Oct 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Veteran rocker John Fogerty has become the latest star to send Donald Trump’s campaign managers a cease and desist notice over their use of his songs at the President’s re-election rallies.
The former Creedence Clearwater Revival star is appalled his song “Fortunate Son” is being used at campaign events and he wants it to stop.
“I object to the President using my song ‘Fortunate Son’ in any way for his campaign,” Fogerty tweeted. “He is using my words and my voice to portray a message that I do not endorse. Therefore, I am issuing a cease and desist order.”
The singer added, “I wrote this song because, as a veteran, I was disgusted that some people were allowed to be excluded from serving our country because they had access to political and financial privilege. I also wrote about wealthy people not paying their fair share of taxes. Mr. Trump is a prime example of both of these issues.”
“The fact that Mr. Trump also fans the flames of hatred, racism and fear while rewriting recent history, is even more reason to be troubled by his use of my song.”

John Fogerty announced that he is issuing a cease and desist order to Donald Trump’s campaign.
In the cease and desist letter, obtained by Rolling Stone, the rocker’s lawyers claim the use of “Fortunate Son” at the rallies and campaign events is “likely to cause confusion, mistake and deceive the public as to the affiliation, connection, sponsorship or association of President Trump by or with John Fogerty”.
“We therefore demand that you expeditiously abstain from playing ‘Fortunate Son’ or any other song written by or connected with John Fogerty at any political campaign rallies or events, and promptly notify us that the demand has been met. This matter is of great importance to our client, and we look forward to your prompt action.”
Fogerty’s action comes days after lawyers representing Phil Collins confirmed they had fired off a cease and desist letter to Trump’s campaign chiefs in an effort to stop them using his hit “In the Air Tonight” at political events.
The two rockers join the likes of Neil Young, Dexys Midnight Runners, Panic At the Disco, The Rolling Stones, Linkin Park, and the estate of Tom Petty among those who have urged the President and his team to stop using their music at re-election campaign rallies.

  • Demi Lovato's Ex Max Ehrich Admits to Feeling 'Afraid' to Fall in Love on New Song

    [embedded content]

The ‘Under the Dome’ alum reveals in a statement that he recorded the new song when he ‘was falling in love,’ adding, ‘It speaks of all the emotions that I was going through at that time.’

    Oct 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Demi Lovato is not the only one who released a song after her breakup from Max Ehrich. The actor has recently unveiled a song entitled “Afraid” alongside an accompanying music video that finds him playing the piano while singing about his fear to fall in love.
He croons on the emotional ballad, “I’m afraid to give up my heart/ I’m afraid to lose against love/ I’m afraid, afraid to be broken apart/ So I play, I play safe/ Holding my guard.” He continues singing in the chorus, “I’m afraid to love you, love you/ Afraid to give in my all/ I’m afraid to love you, love you/ And love you with my whole heart.”

In a statement issued to Billboard at the same time of the release of the song, Max shares his hope that his song would help people “allow themselves to be vulnerable.” He continued dishing on the new tune, “I recorded this song as I was falling in love. It speaks of all the emotions that I was going through at that time. The simplicity of the piano totally brings it home for me. It’s beyond fulfilling to be able to release these feelings in a song.”
“Afraid” is most likely going to be featured on Max’s upcoming six-song EP that is set to hit the stores in early 2021. Further details regarding the forthcoming project are still scarce as of now.
Max recently made headlines due to his broken engagement with Demi that only lasted two months. Some messiness has since ensued after the “Under the Dome” alum claimed that he learned of the breakup through tabloids, though a source later alleged that the former Disney darling did tell the actor beforehand. The source then accused Max of trying “to stay relevant. Her family thinks he is crazy and is so relieved she has taken this step.”

  • Dua Lipa Denies Violating Covid-19 Regulations During Video Shoot, Threatens to Take Legal Action

    Instagram

The ‘IDGAF’ singer is quick to respond to the rumors suggesting that she violated Covid-19 rules while filming her new music video in London, sending her lawyer to warn British tabloid.

    Oct 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Dua Lipa has sent her legal team after British tabloid The Sun over allegations she broke COVID-19 regulations on the set of a new music video in London.
Sources told the newspaper police officials were called to the set of the promo after complaints from concerned locals in Shoreditch, east London, who reported an illegal gathering of people allegedly ignoring social distancing regulations.
“There were extras and what appeared to be dancers swarming around,” one insider said. “Some people looked as though they were drinking too, so it ended up being quite rowdy.”

The “New Rules” singer has now hit back, posting a message on her social media on Friday (16Oct20) and revealing she has set her lawyers on The Sun’s editors.
“A tabloid newspaper in the UK (who I won’t give free publicity to by naming), last night published a story about my video shoot in London and what they said was a flouting of Covid regulations,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
“This is completely untrue – absolutely all guidelines were complied with. This is one of many untrue stories published by this newspaper about me this year. My lawyers have sent a letter to the newspaper today. It’s a shame that some of the British press have more regard for selling papers than the truth or the feelings of the person they are talking about.”
“There have been far worse examples of this in the last year involving other British entertainment figures, but I am going to take my own small stand.”

  • Dua Lipa Gets Surprise Visit From Cops During Video Shoot for Allegedly Violating Covid-19 Rules

    Instagram

The filming of the ‘New Rules’ singer’s new music video has allegedly been raided by police following complaints from neighbors when they saw no social distancing among the large crowd.

    Oct 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Cops raided the set of Dua Lipa’s upcoming music video after complaints from concerned locals in London reported the star flouting lockdown rules.
According to British tabloid The Sun, the “New Rules” star was accompanied by a large crew on the set in Shoreditch, east London, on Wednesday (14Oct20) night for the filming which, according to onlookers, didn’t adhere to social distancing regulations.
“Dua and her entourage were having the time of their lives, but for those living around them it was a nightmare,” they said. “It looked as though the people on the shoot were breaking rules and social distancing was totally out of the question.”

“There were extras and what appeared to be dancers swarming around. Some people looked as though they were drinking too, so it ended up being quite rowdy,” the source added.
“People in the area are respecting the law, so to see a pop star openly break it was poor form. Someone called the police. It was late at night and deserted there but, ultimately, it’s a smack in the face for locals who had to listen to it going on.”
It’s not the first time the artist has been criticised for not following coronavirus rules – in August, the “Physical” hitmaker came under fire for attending a large social gathering in California during the pandemic.
The “IDGAF” singer hasn’t made any comments. Earlier this year, she talked about staying with boyfriend Anwar Hadid during lockdown. “We’ve made the most of the situation. I’d probably have been planning to go on tour, and thinking about when we’d be able see each other. Having all that extra time was really nice. We’re trying to see the bright side,” she said.

  • Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston Believed to Still Help Narada Michael in Recording Studio

    WENN/Ivan Nikolov/Avalon

The legendary musician and producer claims he still feels the presence of the late soul stars while making new music, revealing which of his songs were guided by the two.

    Oct 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston are still with their longtime collaborator Narada Michael Walden when he’s recording new music.
The legendary musician and producer admits he can feel the presence of the late soul stars in the studio, and Whitney actually led him to her version of “Higher Love”, which became a dance music hit last year.
“She channelled me and she said, ‘Go in the vault and let’s put Higher Love out’,” Narada tells WENN. “It happened many years ago, but I got it out of the vault and messed with it and put a new vibe with it and (DJ) Kygo put his vibe on it and bam, it was a smash.”
“I like being in touch with people I love and keep that feeling. It’s a psychic bond.”

Meanwhile, Aretha’s spirit inspired him to write “Aretha Dances In Heaven” for his new album.
“When Aretha Franklin passed away it was very moving to my heart,” he explains. “I’ll never forget when I first met her in the studio and looked at her – she was so alive and you could see the fire in her eyes.”
“She came to me in this song. I talk to her all the time as a matter of fact. I just got a vibe of what it would feel like for her to go into heaven and all the people who were in heaven, how they would love and embrace her and be happy to welcome her. And we on earth are keeping our connection with her and wanting to stay with her by playing her music and still loving her music.”
“The song is a dedication of love. I have a little thing (recording) of her saying, ‘I am a bad sista’ and I thought, ‘Let’s open the album with this’. The connection is so strong that no matter where she is I’m still loving her and I care about Aretha Franklin. I know she’s into everything I’m doing.”
“If I ask her, ‘What do you think about this?’ she’ll tell me. It’s my inner spirit hearing her and my inner spirit having a knowingness of what she would love and what she approves of and what she likes. And she likes me keeping her in my mind. She likes me talking about her.”

  • Drake Responds to Nicki Minaj Inviting Him to Playdate With Their Sons on New Song

Recorded when the ‘Bang Bang’ hitmaker was nine-month pregnant, ‘Whole Lotta Choppas’ remix finds her rapping, ‘To be honest, I hope one day we do a play-date with Adonis.’
    Oct 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Not long after Nicki Minaj gave birth to her first child, the rap superstar is already back in the industry. The new mom surprised fans on Thursday night, October 15 by hopping on the remix of Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas”, name-dropping Drake’s son Adonis on the song.
Recorded when Nicki was nine-month pregnant, the song finds her touching on several topics including the Black Lives Matter movement and her plastic surgeries. At one point during the tune, the “Bang Bang” hitmaker raps, “To be honest, I hope one day we do a play-date with Adonis/ Ooh, I’m ’bout my cake, get your bakin’ on.”

      See also…

Drake was quick to give his response, loving the ideas. In a post shared on Instagram Stories, the Canadian rapper said, “Play dates soon come [love emoji].”

This also confirmed that Drake and Nicki are back on good terms. The rappers used to be really close in the past, but their friendship started going south in 2015 after Drake began beefing with Meek Mill, who was dating the “Starship” rapper at the time. Drake and Nicki reconnected for a while after the latter broke up with Meek. However, their reconciliation was short-lived. In 2018, Drake and Nicki fell out again after the former made up with Meek, before both the “Hotline Bling” hitmaker and Nicki unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Furthermore, later in December of that year, Nicki seemed to take a jab at both Drake and Meek on her freestyle “Barbie Going Bad”. She rapped, “When you lose the Queen, n****s friendly, dawg/ It was just back to back like Wimbley, dawg.” Drake himself admitted in an interview that the drama changed his relationship with Nicki “a lot,” before adding, “Probably forever.”
