  • Jacob Tremblay Recounts Justin Bieber's Past as Tween Pop Star in 'Lonely' Music Video

The minimalistic music video and the simple arrangement of the song capture the raw emotion of the lyrics that convey the Canadian superstar’s struggles as he navigated fame at early age.
    Oct 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Justin Bieber has debuted the music video for his new song “Lonely”. Made in collaboration with producer Benny Blanco, the song reflects the “Baby” hitmaker’s struggles to navigate fame at early age as he rose from a YouTube sensation to a global pop superstar.
True to the simple arrangement of the song and the poignant lyrics, the minimalistic music video stars SAG Award-nominated actor Jacob Tremblay as young Bieber who sits alone in a backstage room. Sporting Bieber’s iconic side-swept hair and purple hoodie, the 14-year-old actor perfectly depicts the raw emotion of feeling isolated under the spotlight.
He is killing his time playing hockey, which is Bieber’s favorite sport to play, while waiting for his turn to appear onstage. Toward the end of the video, the real Bieber is seen as the only person in the audience, looking back at his own past.
“What if you had it all, but nobody to call? Maybe then you’d know me. ‘Cause I’ve had everything but no one’s listening, and that’s just f**king lonely. I’m so lonely,” the “Where Are U Now” crooner sings over piano tunes.

The 26-year-old singer also makes references to his problematic past as singing, “Everybody knows my past now, like my house was always made of glass. Maybe that’s the price you pay for the money and fame at an early age. And everybody saw me sick, and it felt like no one gave a s**t. They criticized the things I did as an idiot kid.”
Blanco, who previously teamed up with Bieber on his 2015’s hit “Love Yourself”, talked about how Bieber opened up his feelings through the song. “He was real nervous. He was like, ‘S**t. Should I be putting this out into the world?’ Because he’s like, ‘People know me for this thing and it’s like I’ve never been this raw,’ ” he said of the song.
“He’s raw on this song. This song brought us so much closer together. And it was just he’s really opening up on this and he’s super vulnerable,” Blanco added. “There’s this weird stigma and this thing where men are supposed to be this. And it’s like, ‘No, I want to be vulnerable. I want to cry. I want to have a good cry.”
Bieber is set to perform “Lonely” on “Saturday Night Live” with Blanco this week, October 17 on NBC.

  • Phil Collins Blocks Donald Trump From Using His Song in Campaign

    WENN/Joseph Marzullo/Instar

The Genesis singer has issued a cease and desist letter after POTUS played his hit song ‘In the Air Tonight’ at his rally in Des Moines, Iowa on Wednesday, October 14.
    Oct 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Donald Trump has done it again. POTUS has recently been slapped with a new cease and desist order after he played Phil Collins’ hit song “In the Air Tonight” during one of his rallies in Des Moines, Iowa on Wednesday, October 14.
Representatives for the Genesis member confirmed the report through a statement, stating that Trump’s team did not have permission to use the song in the rally. “Yes we are well aware of the Trump campaign’s use of this song and we have already issued a ‘cease and desist’ letter via our lawyers who continue to monitor the situation,” so his reps said in the statement made to Consequence of Songs.

With that said, Collins has joined a long list of musicians who issued a cease and desist letter to Trump in an attempt to stop him from playing their music during his campaign. The list included Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Linkin Park, and the estate of Tom Petty.
Meanwhile, Trump himself has been receiving criticism for using “In the Air Tonight” at his rally, with many pointing out that his song choice could be perceived as tone deaf since a lot of maskless people gathered in the city where COVID-19 cases continue to rise. “They’re playing ‘in the air tonight’ at the #Trump rally. Do they ever play anything that isn’t dripping with irony?” an individual mocked him.
“Bruh they were playing In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins at Trumps rally that no one was wearing masks at. oh the irony,” another echoed the sentiment, while one other was being sarcastic, “Another song for Trump rallies, Can you fill it coming in the air tonight? Can you fill it COVID-19 coming in the air tooo-night??? Can you fill it, can you fill it coming in the air tonight??? SBJ.”

  • NBC Accused of Censoring Demi Lovato's Anti-Trump Performance at Billboard Music Awards

    NBC

The Peacock has seemingly censored the ‘Commander In Chief’ performance by the former Disney darling as the original footage makes its way out on the internet.
    Oct 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – NBC officials appeared to censor Demi Lovato’s plea for fans to vote in the upcoming U.S. election during her performance at the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday (14Oct20) night.
The 28-year-old star took to the stage to perform her latest song, “Commander in Chief”, which takes aim at incumbent leader Donald Trump, with lines like, “Do you even know the truth? / We’re in a state of crisis, people are dyin’ / While you line your pockets deep.”
In footage obtained by TMZ, the word “vote” was splashed up on the stage behind her after she concluded the song but, in the final broadcast, the camera cut to a close up of the singer when the music stopped.

Sources told the outlet bosses felt that, because “Commander in Chief” was an anti-Trump song, the “vote” message was too clearly a call to vote against him. The network is also set to host a town hall with Trump on Thursday evening.
Lovato hasn’t held back in her criticism of the president and, while the track prompted an intense response on Instagram, with some fans slamming the star and suggesting her political stance could “ruin” her career, she insisted she “literally doesn’t care.”
“This isn’t about that. My career isn’t about that,” she told fans on Instagram. “I made a piece of art that stands for something I believe in. And I’m putting it out even at the risk of losing fans. I’ll take integrity in my work over sales any day.”

    Oct 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – It’s heartbreaking news for those who are looking forward to Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s rumored collaboration. After reports of their collaboration emerged online this week, someone who claimed to be close with the “Bodak Yellow” raptress has revealed that the speculations are everything but truth.
The so-called source tells TheJasmineBrand, “This is false.” The source, however, claims that it’s not because the two musicians are feuding with each other. “There’s no beef, but there’s also no song either,” the informant explains.
Speculations that a collaborative song from the former enemies, who previously joined forces for “MotoSports”, is coming first started after a possible snippet of the said joint song was leaked on the Internet earlier this month. Titled “Lavish”, the song is allegedly produced by Mike WiLL Made It. The 7-second snippet simply found Nicki and Cardi shouting out their signature lines without going into the female emcee’s respective verses.

Fans also believed that Cardi teased the rumored collaboration when she was feuding with both her own fanbase and Nicki’s, who were infamous for taking a jab at each other. “Since ya mad ..imma give ya something mad to be about …..This next single and coll- ….Gonna have ya sick ….since ya here,” the “WAP” hitmaker wrote on Twitter.
People later speculated that she was talking about “Lavish”. “Is it Lavish?! Because I REALLY NEED A CARDI AND NICKI Collab!” one person said. “Like sis I know you guys are living your best life and y’all just doing your shit and Nicki doing her shit. But imma barb and a bardi…..AND I NEED A BARBARDI COLLAB NEOW throw some MEGAN IN DAT TOO.”
Further adding fuel to the rumors, the song has been listed on Genius before being removed from the music site. However, it was said that a fan of one of the artists uploaded a fake song title to Genius.
