    Post Malone, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, Khalid Lead 2020 Billboard Music Awards Nominees

    The ‘Congratulations’ hitmaker collects the most nominations at this year’s Billboard Music Awards while Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, Khalid, and Lizzo follow with more than 10 nods each.

    AceShowbiz – Post Malone leads the nominees for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards with 16 nominations while Billie Eilish garnered a respectable 13 following a stellar debut album.
    The “Congratulations” hitmaker has picked up nominations in a number of categories, including top artist, top male artist, and top Billboard 200 artist. He also earned two noms in the top rap song category.
    Other multiple nominees include Lil Nas X with 13, Billie Eilish and Khalid with 12 a piece, Lizzo with 11, and Kanye West with nine (including four in the gospel song category). Lil Nas X, Lizzo, and Eilish are first-time nominees along with Harry Styles and Jonas Brothers.
    Post also could break Drake’s record for the artist with the most wins in a single night if he takes home more than 13 awards.
    Elsewhere among the nominations, Top Male Artist sees Post compete against Ed Sheeran, DaBaby, Khalid, and Lil Nas X, with Top New Artist nominees also including DaBaby, Lil Nas X, Lizzo and Roddy Ricch.
    Five singles that reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 are vying for Top Hot 100 song. They are Eilish’s “bad guy”, Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved”, Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road”, Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts”, and Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Senorita”.
    Meanwhile, alongside Malone’s “Hollywood’s Bleeding”, the other Top Billboard 200 Album nominees are “thank u, next” by Ariana Grande, Khalid’s “Free Spirit”, Eilish’s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”, and Taylor Swift’s “Lover”.
    Originally slated for 29 April (20), the awards were postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. It’s not yet clear how the 2020 ceremony, set for 14 October, will work, but Kelly Clarkson will continue her hosting duties for the third year in a row.

    AceShowbiz – Halsey enjoyed an outdoor feast from her award plaques as she celebrated three billion Spotify streams on Monday (21Sep20).
    The two-time Grammy nominee, who recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of the release of her debut studio album “Badlands”, took to social media to share her latest achievement.
    In her post, the star ate snacks and candy from two of her Spotify plaques – one for one billion streams of the 2016 Chainsmokers song “Closer”, on which she’s featured, and another for her 2018 single “Without Me” – each of which featured a round silver dish with the Spotify logo.
    As the camera panned up from the table, the hitmaker was seen enjoying a glass of rose wine as she said, “And they owe me one more too,” seemingly referring to her 2018 track “Eastside”, on which she collaborated with Khalid and Benny Blanco, which also surpassed a billion streams.

    The “Manic” star captioned the video, “2 outta 3 of my billion plaques received. Check mate @champagnepapi thank you @spotify.” Her mention of Drake comes after he posted a similar video of himself eating pasta out of his Spotify award for a billion streams on his 2018 single “In My Feelings”.

    He captioned his clip, “We drank out of Grammys now you need a BILL to eat off the plate @spotify.”
    The “Hotline Bling” hitmaker became the most-streamed artist of the decade on Spotify last December, with more than 28 billion streams, having released nearly 200 songs on the streaming platform since 2010.

Fans have been expressing their worry about the hip-hop musician due to the lyrics that he rhymed on the song, whose snippet was released through his social media account on Monday, September 21.
    The untitled song found Dex rapping about his struggles with drug addiction. Feeling he was too far gone to seek help, the “H**’s Mad” hitmaker spitted, “I’m gone, I’m gone, I’m gone. Can’t leave drugs alone, they tell me leave them drugs alone.”

    Listening to the snippet, fans could not help but worry over Dex’s well-being. “Y’all gone clown him but this man rlly crying out for help like fr y’all pray for him,” one person said. “People clowning Famous dex for Heavily Abusing drugs when Juice WRLD and Lil Peep did the same damn thing and y’all ain’t say nothing to them,” another similarly commented.
    Feeling bad for Dex, an individual wrote, “He really calling for help through a song damn that’s sad.” Someone else, in the meantime, had this to say, “Watch y’all clown him but bro really crying out for help his team need to do something ASAP before it’s too late.” One more online user chimed in, “Hopefully he goes to rehab or something. he needs help. honest to god.”
    Dex has been open about his issues with drug addiction. Last year, he made headlines when he suffered a seizure while performing in West Hollywood. His team later issued a statement that read, “We wish Famous Dex a speedy recovery after his epileptic seizure last night. He is currently in good spirits and hopes to return back to finishing his new album. He thanks all his fans for their prayers and well wishes.”

    AceShowbiz – Bruce Springsteen recorded tracks for his new album, “Letter to You”, on a guitar gifted him by a fan.
    The “Born in the U.S.A.” rocker recently revealed he knocked out the whole album with the E Street Band in just five days, and now he’s revealing a little more about the session, explaining his guitar of choice was one given to him after a Springsteen on Broadway performance.
    “It looked like a nice guitar, so I jumped in the car with it,” Bruce tells Rolling Stone, explaining he picked it up weeks later as he found a moment of inspiration after visiting old friend and former The Castiles bandmate George Theiss, who was battling lung cancer, in North Carolina.

    “All the songs from the album came out of it,” Springsteen says. “In perhaps less than 10 days. I just wandered around the house in different rooms, and I wrote a song each day. I wrote a song in the bedroom. I wrote a song in our bar. I wrote a song in the living room.”
    Springsteen tells the publication he recorded the songs into his iPhone and demoed the tracks with the E Street Band when he had an album’s worth.
    “When I demo, I start putting things on to see if it works and suddenly, I’m locked into an arrangement, and then the band has to fit themselves into an arrangement,” he adds. “And suddenly, we don’t have an E Street Band album. So I intentionally did not demo anything.”

    “Letter to You” will be released on 23 October.

    AceShowbiz – Bad Bunny stopped traffic on Sunday night (September 20) as he performed his first-ever virtual concert on a bus moving through New York City.
    The Puerto Rican star’s gig, which aired on the Uforia Music App and his YouTube channel, was his first of 2020, and ushered in a new era of performing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    “It was difficult for me to do a concert without an audience. I didn’t want to,” he said. “But I’m accepting the new reality and I hope people enjoy this. We need it.”
    The concert kicked off at Yankee Stadium and then took in sites such as the Bronx and Washington Heights, with Bad Bunny commenting that New York is the “city where I’ve performed the most during my career.”

    Over a million fans tuned in to watch the star perform tunes including “La Dificil”, “Pero Ya No” and “Vete”, as well as hearing the 26-year-old comment on various topics such as where his success has come from, and the importance of voting in the upcoming November election.
    “We must vote and raise our voices because it boils down to giving ourselves respect as people and as Latinos. That’s why you have to go vote,” he said.
    The bus came to its final stop outside a local hospital, where Bunny performed “Yo Perreo Sola” and paid his respects to the frontline workers who have been tirelessly helping others during the pandemic.
    “Respect and thanks to those people who have sacrificed their lives in this city,” he said. “With a lot of faith in God, I sense that good things are coming. I know we are going through very difficult times. I have made thousands of mistakes, but my only mission is to try to be a better person every day.”

    “I just want you guys to know the DNA (Doja, Nicki, Ariana) collab is completely a fan made rumor and there wasn’t any plan for it to happen but it sounds like a great idea and i’d love to do it,” she wrote on Sunday, September 20. “Just wanted to debunk it all for you guys cuz i see you all in the comment section buggin out about it.”

    Doja Cat addressed the rumor of her collaboration with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.
    Her tweets come after Ariana revealed back in May during an interview with Zane Lowe that she had teamed up with Doja on a new tune.
    “I was able to work with her earlier this year on this song that I want to save for whenever it’s time again to drop,” the “Thank U, Next” songstress teased at the time. “I remember when I first wrote it and sent it to her, she was in the shower and she was like, ‘B**ch, I love this’.”

With that said do think I he’s a good lyricist? Yes. Do I think he’s the best lyricist? No. Do I think it’s lyricists that are better than him? Yes. Is he a better artist than me? Yes,” he said.

    Kanye recently made use of his social media account to rant about wanting to acquire control of his master recordings. He also talked about bizarre economic structure of the music industry and brought up the “In My Feelings” hitmaker in his tweets. “WE’RE GONIG TO TRANSPARENTLY CHANGE EVERY ALBUM DEAL EVERY PUBLISHING DEAL EVERY MERCH DEAL EVERY TOURING DEAL EXCEPT FOR DRAKE’S DEALS,” so Kanye tweeted on Saturday, September 19. “JUST KIDDING … I LOVE DRAKE TOO … ALL ARTIST MUST BE FREE.”
    Although the husband of Kim Kardashian shared that he was “just kidding,” it didn’t stop Boosie for coming at Kanye in Drake’s defense. “@kanyewest WHY U CANT KEEP DRAKE OUT YO MOUTH BRA,” Boosie tweeted. “IM GO SAY IT #stophatin #stophatin smh YOU SHOWING STR8 JEALOUSY N YOU AINT EVEN GOTTA DO THAT.     While Drake has yet to respond to Kanye name-dropping his name, he seemed to approve Boosie’s reaction to Kanye’s online rants. He expressed his feelings about the whole thing by liking an Instagram post by DJ Akademiks featuring a screenshot of Boosie’s tweet to Kanye.

    This is not the first time for Kanye to tweet about Drake in his Twitter tirade. On Monday, September 14, The hip-hop star called out not only Drake, but also J. Cole, demanding a public apology from the two rappers. He first started his rant by vowing not to release any new music until his contract with Sony and Universal is “done,” before calling out both Drake and Cole. “I need a publicly apology from J Cole and Drake to start with immediately … I’m Nat Turner … I’m fighting for us,” so he said on the micro-blogging site.
    Kanye also involved Jay-Z in his online rant, saying that he wanted to meet his longtime friend. “I’m not industry bro … I don’t care… I’m in service to Christ … we need world healing … I miss my brothers… I refuse to argue with black men on labels we don’t own… even twitter,” he said in a separate tweet. “I have the utmost respect for all brothers … we need to link and respect each other… no more dissing each other on labels we don’t own.”
