When explaining the meanings behind the wild visuals in the promo, the ‘Shallow’ hitmaker admits it is very personal for her since it highlights on her experience with mental health.
    Sep 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lady GaGa’s new music video for “911” is a nod to her mental health struggles.
The singer took to social media to explain the meanings behind the wild visuals in the promo, which dropped on Friday, September 18. Set in a fantasy desert, the scenes are revealed as a hallucination, with the video ending with footage of a major accident.
“This short film is very personal to me, my experience with mental health and the way reality and dreams can interconnect to form heroes within us and all around us,” GaGa wrote on Instagram on Friday. “I’d like to thank my director/filmmaker Tarsem for sharing a 25 year old idea he had with me because my life story spoke so much to him.”
Lady GaGa went on to thank her other collaborators and fans for supporting the creation of 911.
“It’s been years since I felt so alive in my creativity to make together what we did with ‘911’,” she added. “Thank you little monsters.”

“I’m awake now, I can see you, I can feel you, thank you for believing in me when I was very afraid. Something that was once my real life everyday is now a film, a true story that is now the past and not the present. It’s the poetry of pain.”

Lady GaGa also went into detail about the lyrics for her latest single release from the album “Chromatica”, revealing the song is related to the psychiatric medication she takes.

“I wrote a song on ‘Chromatica’ called ‘911’, and it’s about an antipsychotic that I take, and it’s because I can’t always control things that my brain does, I know that. And I have to take medication to stop the process that occurs,” she said during an Apple Music interview.

  • ACM Bosses Defend Entertainer of the Year Dual Winners Amid Backlash

    Facebook

The organizers for Academy of Country Music Awards stand by their decision to award both Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett the coveted title despite controversy.
    Sep 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Academy of Country Music Awards bosses are standing by Wednesday night’s (16Sep20) historic Entertainer of the Year Award tie at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, insisting both performers scored exactly the same votes.
Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett became the first-ever dual winners of the coveted prize in the ACM Awards’ 55-year history and both took to the stage to graciously accept the trophy and honour each other.
But country fans were seething and many took to social media after the televised ceremony to ask how there could be a tie for the biggest award of the night.

Academy CEO Damon Whiteside has now assured fans that everything was above board and the tie stands, telling Billboard in a statement, “We were as shocked as (ceremony host) Keith Urban when we heard the results.
“We have an independent third party accounting firm that tabulates our results based on nearly 5,000 voting members of the Academy. Our awards policy is that in the event of (a) tie both artists receive trophies. While the odds are highly unlikely for a tie, it has happened in the past in other ACM award categories and with other awards shows.”
He added: “Both of this year’s winners are so worthy, and we are thrilled that Thomas Rhett won his first Entertainer of the Year. Carrie Underwood’s record-breaking third win in that category is much deserved. This certainly was an exciting cap off to an unprecedented year, and we are proud to have created a spectacular, historical show.”

  • Jay-Z Called a 'Snake' Amid Kanye West's Dispute With Record Label

    WENN

After the ‘Follow God’ rapper shows his contracts with Universal Music, social media users come to the conclusion that Jay sold the masters to Kanye’s albums so he could get his own back.
    Sep 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jay-Z has been dragged by social media users amid Kanye West’s dispute with record label. Earlier this week, the Atlanta rapper shared screenshots of dozens of pages of his contracts with Universal Music Group as he expressed his frustration about not being able to own the rights to his music.
Apparently after making a close inspection of the binding contracts, a Twitter user came to the conclusion that Jay sold the masters to Kanye’s albums so he could get his own back. “Kanye contracts SUMMARY: Apart from the inducement which Kanye had to sign to get his advances. This shows that Jay Z sold the masters to first 6 @kanyewest’s albums just so he could get his own back. He did so knowing Def Jam won’t sell them back to Kanye in future,” the said user wrote, noting, “That’s BEEF!”

Learning of the Roc Nation founder’s sly move to get what he wanted, others have since dubbed him the bad guy in Kanye’s ongoing issue with Universal. “that’s some grimy s**t dude,” one reacted to Jay’s alleged involvement in Kanye’s contracts with the record label.
“What a snake!” a second person called out the husband of Beyonce Knowles. Another added, “Like I have been saying Jay Z was NEVER Kanye’s real friend. This goes beyond Kanye marrying Kim, Jay is a f**king snake. I understand why he did it but it’s still foul no matter how much I don’t like Kanye.”
“Who is surprised? This is Jay-z’s well known nature,” a fourth commenter claimed. “He’s a snake and always has been. Some people like snakes. I remember Diana Ross being okay with a snake until she found out that he took her money too.”
Someone else blasted the “Empire State of Mind” hitmaker, “JayZ is so immoral. Devil in the flesh.” Another similar comment read, “Kanye is unhinged but Jay Z is straight up grimey snake.”
Another acknowledged that “that’s some cutthroat s**t right there but that’s the music business.” Defending Jay for making such decision, someone else wrote, “I mean…if you have to make a choice between owning your masters and owning someone else’s…”
Kanye shared copies of his contracts with Universal on Wednesday, September 16 along with a series of Twitter rants. In one of his controversial posts, he shared a video of him seemingly urinating on his Grammy trophy. He also blasted “white media” for taking down Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby and R. Kelly.
Apparently noticing Kanye’s mention of the disgraced singer, R. Kelly’s lawyer Douglas Anton later reached out to the “Follow God” rapper and offered his help to solve his dispute with Universal. “Kanye. I’m R. Kelly’s lawyer. (For real) Please email all your contracts to me to [email protected] I’ll take a look at all of them. I can’t get them here off Twitter,” the lawyer tweeted, before Ye was temporarily banned from the blue bird app.

  • Ari Flecther Tearfully Begs MoneyBagg Yo to Call Her Back on 'Brain Dead'

    Instagram

Towards the end of the ‘Code Read’ track, the social media star says, ‘Call me the f**k back, drop your location, something, I’m gonna beat your a**, you got me f**ked up.’
    Sep 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – MoneyBagg Yo released his new album “Code Read” on Friday, September 18, and one song already stood out more than the rest. Titled “Brain Dead”, the song garnered attention due to the fact that the rapper included his girlfriend Ari Fletcher’s voicemails towards the end of the tune.
Following the last chorus, people could hear the answering machine voice before Ari started speaking, “Hey babe, I’m just checkin’ on you, see where you at, what you doin’. Call me when you can, love you, bye.” Not getting any answer from the rapper, the mom of one called again as she sounded pissed, “I’m not finna keep call your motherf**kin’ phone, like. Call me the f**k back, drop your location, something, I’m gonna beat your a**, you got me f**ked up. Call me back now.”
However, MoneyBagg still had not called Ari back and it made her so frustrated she started crying. “I’m sick of this s**t, like, I’m done, I don’t know why you always do this s**t to me. Like you waste my f**kin’ time, all the time,” she said. “All you have to do is call me back.”

MoneyBagg teased Ari’s feature on the song days before the release of the album. During a joint Instagram Live stream with his girlfriend, MoneyBagg shared a teaser of the song as Ari bragged, “I’m a rapper now.” However, before they got to her part in the song, she admitted to feeling nervous and shy.
Because of this, people were disappointed because they thought Ari would rap for real rather than having her voicemails included on the song. “thought this girl was gone spit a bar or 2 and she on there begging,” one said. “I’m mad bc they made it seem like she was gon rap all she did was cry on the phone,” another wrote.

  • Justin Bieber Gets Cozy With Ryan Destiny in Emotional 'Holy' Music Video

    [embedded content]

Besides the ‘Star’ actress, the nearly-five-and-a-half-minute music video also features Wilmer Valderrama who plays a soldier helping out both the Canadian singer and Ryan.
    Sep 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Justin Bieber is back with new music. Reuniting with Chance the Rapper, the Canadian singer released a song called “Holy” on Thursday midnight, September 17 along with its music video that featured Ryan Destiny and Wilmer Valderrama.
Ryan plays Justin’s love interest in the nearly-five-and-a-half-minute video, which starts with the singer waking up next to the “Star” actress. The scene then changes to show how the pair spend their days, with Justin working as a construction worker while Ryan works at a hospital as a nurse.
Things seem to be going well with the couple, until Justin’s boss sadly announces that he’s going to shut down the place. Ryan faces a similar situation at her work place, and to pour salt into their wounds, both of them get kicked out of their apartment with nowhere to go. Fortunately, when they’re walking on the streets wondering where they will be heading, the pair meet Wilmer, who offers them a warm meal in his house.
“Holy” itself finds Justin gushing over his partner. “That the way you hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me/ Feels so holy, holy, holy, holy, holy,” he sings on the chorus. “Runnin’ to the altar like a track star/ Can’t wait another second/ ‘Cause the way you hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me/ Feels so holy.”
Justin confirmed “Holy” serves as the lead single off his new album, which still doesn’t have a title nor a release date. It will be a follow-up to his fifth album “Chances” that was released in February of this year. Preceded by two singles, the record debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart after raking up 231,000 equivalent album units in its first week. Due to this, he became the youngest soloist to have seven US number-one albums at the age of 25.

  • Michael Stipe Pledges to Donate Proceeds From Solo Singles to Charity

    Instagram

The R.E.M. frontman will not be pocketing any money from the singles he releases as a solo artist as he vows to donate the proceeds to non-profit organization.
    Sep 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe has pledged to give the money he makes from singles to charity to help organisations he believes in.
The “Losing My Religion” singer has revealed he won’t be pocketing any money he makes from the first year of his releases, because he made enough as R.E.M.’s leader.
“Because of R.E.M. and because of all the fans across the years, I’m able to take all the money I’ve made for the first year of the release of every single that I’m putting out as a solo artist, and donate it or dedicate it to organisations and movements that I feel very strongly about,” he tells U.S. late night host Seth Meyers.
Some of that cash will go to groups in Athens, Georgia, where Stipe formed R.E.M., to help coronavirus crisis management.
“(Athens-Clarke county), the smallest county in a very large state, now has the highest two-week total of new cases for any of Georgia’s 159 counties, and one of the highest per capita in the nation, and it has seen the number of deaths due to Covid-19 more than double in just the past six weeks,” he wrote in a recent piece for The Guardian.
Stipe laid the blame at the feet of college students at the University of Georgia, who are defying common sense and partying without face coverings and ignoring social distancing guidelines.
“As has been widely noted, young people do not live in a bubble, and so they serve as a danger to their older and more vulnerable teachers, the custodians who clean their classrooms, kitchen workers who cook their meals – and that is just on campus,” he added. “Their impact off campus, in the town of Athens, is alarming.”
“In addition, the 14,000 primary and secondary schoolchildren in Athens will have to stay away from their needed academic and social supports because of the reckless environment that our state has enabled for the university community.”
The singer also attacked Georgia’s Governor, Brian Kemp, accusing him of being “slow to order safety measures and quick to lift them.”

  • Damon Albarn Plots Blur Reunion

    WENN

After focusing on Gorillaz in the past few years, Damon Albarn is now ready to reunite with his Blur bandmates as he’s keen to hit the road with them for another tour.
    Sep 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Damon Albarn is ready to reunite Blur again for another tour.
The British rocker has been focusing on his other band Gorillaz since Blur last toured in 2015 but the group did briefly get back together for Damon’s Africa Express festival in East London last year (19).
In a new interview with Music Week, the “Song 2” hitmaker says he’s ready to get the band back together again as he can’t wait to belt out their hits.
“I love doing those gigs, they’re great, but it’s not something I need to do,” he says. “I only do it because there’s a joy in doing it. It’s an absolute treat. I can’t wait to sing Parklife again.”
The British musician isn’t abandoning Gorillaz, however, who have kept people entertained during the pandemic with their “Song Machine” series of online releases – tracks that will be compiled into an album, due out next month (Oct20).
However, he says for new material, he might seek out less well-known stars than the big names who have contributed to Gorillaz in the past.
“Maybe we’ll do a season where it’s just completely unknown people because I’d love that,” he explains. “In multiple languages, all over the world. It would be nice to distil all that into a Gorillaz project; disparate, obscure folk artists, somebody in Paraguay or Iceland, someone in South Korea… North Korea even. I don’t know how that would go down but hey, anything is possible now.”

  • Kelsea Ballerini Keeps Looking for New Way to Grow as Musician

    WENN

The ‘Miss Me More’ singer will ‘never be content’ when it comes to her music as she continues to push herself and figure out a new creative way to make a better record.
    Sep 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kelsea Ballerini will “never be content” when it comes to her singing career, and is always finding new ways “to grow.”
The 27 year old performed at the ACM (Academy of Country Music) Awards on Wednesday night (15Sep20), belting out her song “Hole in the Bottle”.
And in an interview with People magazine at the ceremony about her hopes for the future, Kelsea explained she just wants to “keep making good music.”
“I want to keep looking at whatever’s next and thinking that it’s better than what I did before,” she said. “That’s been another good part of this year – having the time to write and figure out other ways to get creative. I just want to keep pushing myself. I’m never content, which I probably should get better at, but I’m always wanting to grow. Hopefully, I just make a better record.”
Kelsea’s performance at the event came from an empty Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, with the ceremony looking vastly different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But taking to the stage without a crowd to perform to was equally nerve-wracking for the “Miss Me More” star.
“I haven’t been on stage in a long time so I was rusty. Even with no audience, I still had the jitters,” she smiled. “All three venues for this show – the Opry, the Ryman and the Bluebird – they all have such significance and such legendary ties to them. To be able to highlight these venues that haven’t had a lot of live music in them recently is special.”
