  • Kelly Clarkson to Get Personal on 'Therapeutic' New Album Following Split From Husband

    Instagram

The singer-turned-talk show host describes her upcoming studio album as ‘therapeutic’ following her separation from Brandon Blackstock after seven years of marriage.
    Sep 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kelly Clarkson plans to get “personal” on her new album.
The hitmaker, who recently split from husband Brandon Blackstock, reveals, in a preview of this week’s episode of “Sunday Today With Willie Geist”, it’s been “therapeutic” to revisit past situations while creating the album.
“This next record, this will probably be the most personal one I’ve ever released,” Clarkson shares. “The whole record is basically every emotion you experience from the beginning of a relationship, to the end of what it is now.”
“It’s been very therapeutic for me,” she adds. “It’s very honest.”
The “Catch My Breath” hitmaker filed for divorce from Blackstock in June (20), after nearly seven years of marriage. The pair share two children together – six-year-old daughter River and four-year-old son Remington.
Despite a number of the tracks being about their parents’ failed relationship, Clarkson adds that one song off her upcoming album has her kids’ stamp of approval.
“There’s one that my kids sing in the car. ‘Cause I’m going through mixes, and I’m just, like, ‘This is weird,'” she expresses. “Like, it’s your relationship. I’ve never written about my life to where my kids are, like, singing along.”
Although River and Remy like the song, they don’t know what it’s about, as Clarkson explains, “They’re four and six, and so, that’s a little different, but whatever. It is what it is.”
A release date for the new album has yet to be confirmed.

  • Ozuna Refuses to Talk Bad About Women in His Music

    WENN

The reggaeton star says taking aim at the opposite sex in music is off-limits for him as he refuses to follow the growing trend in the industry because women are his inspirations.
    Sep 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ozuna is “really careful” not to write music that offends women.
The 28-year-old singer has enjoyed huge success with songs such as “Criminal”, “Caramelo”, and “Mamacita” – and is considered one of the biggest stars of the reggaeton genre.
But one thing he’ll never do is take aim at the opposite sex in his tunes, despite growing up on urban tunes in which slamming women was the norm.
“Today, there is no room to offend women in music in general,” he told Rolling Stone magazine. “It’s a different time. Maybe I see it in other songs that aren’t mine, but I’m really careful about that. I mind my own business. I’m me. I know the urban genre is huge, and there’s a lot to take in, but I’m taking care of my part. I don’t agree with talking bad about women.”
“There are some playful, spicy things that we all like, but in a matter of tarnishing women, that’s not allowed on my record label. In fact, in the most successful songs I’ve ever had, women were my inspiration.”
As for what else inspires his songs, Ozuna explained that he bases his tunes on “situations,” adding, “Sometimes we complicate ourselves by looking for things and exaggerating. It must sound differently. I can’t tell you ‘this is the trick’, but kids, women, and older people like it. And I think that’s the result of how we do things, from the heart.”

  • Rolling Stones Sets New Record With Latest No. 1 Album in U.K.

    WENN

The Mick Jagger-fronted rock band have made history in U.K. chart as the first group to score a number one album in six different decades following ‘Goats Head Soup’ reissue.
    Sep 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – The Rolling Stones have set a new U.K. chart record after narrowly edging out singer Declan McKenna to snag their 13th number one album.
The reissue of the ageing rockers’ 1973 release “Goats Head Soup” took first place by just over 800 sales units, leaving McKenna to settle for second place with “Zeros”.
The achievement makes the Stones the first group in Official Chart history to score a number one album in six different decades, while the stars are now level with Elvis Presley and Robbie Williams in total chart-toppers.
Only The Beatles have more, with a current tally of 17.
Meanwhile, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are keeping things sexy in the U.K. singles chart, holding on to pole position for a second consecutive week as they lead an all-rap top three.
Hip-hop newcomer 24kGoldn climbs to two with “Mood”, featuring Iann Dior, and British MC Headie One takes “Ain’t It Different” with AJ Tracey and Stormzy to number three.

  • Miley Cyrus Filled With Gratitude as Stevie Nicks Allows Her to 'Borrow' From Her 'Anytime'

    WENN

The ‘Midnight Sky’ singer considers the Fleetwood Mac star one of her mentors, applauding her senior for being ‘so open and welcoming’ to younger artists.
    Sep 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Miley Cyrus is still in awe after receiving permission to “borrow” musical ideas from Stevie Nicks whenever she wants.
The “Wrecking Ball” hitmaker samples Nicks’ 1981 solo song “Edge of Seventeen” in her new single “Midnight Sky”, and reveals she personally reached out to the Fleetwood Mac star to seek her approval – and got a lot more than she bargained for with the rock icon’s reply.
“I sent her the song and I said, ‘I have an alternate melody, if you don’t want me to kind of like pay tribute to you and your greatness and how much you’ve inspired me,’ ” Miley recalled during an appearance on America’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”.
“And she said, ‘You can borrow from me anytime.’ ”
The pop singer previously saluted Fleetwood Mac at the 2018 MusiCares’ Person of the Year ceremony, where Miley performed a cover of their classic hit “Landslide”, and she is grateful to count Nicks as one of her mentors, alongside her godmother, country music queen Dolly Parton, and Joan Jett.
“They are so open and welcoming to the newer members, the younger artists coming up, and they offer their mentorship,” Miley marvelled.
“It’s just been really incredibly important in my career, having someone like her (Nicks) to look up to. You know, like everyone looks up to Stevie Nicks but having that direct relationship has been just, you know, kind of life changing.”

  • 6ix9ine Insists 'TattleTales' Doesn't Flop After Forcing Strangers to Take His Album

    Instagram

Comparing his latest album sales’ to the likes of Trippie Redd’s and Lil Durk’s, the rainbow-haired rapper points out that he still sells more than the other rappers.
    Sep 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tekashi69 a.k.a. 6ix9ine has finally responded to reports claiming that the sales of his latest album, “TattleTales”, keeps decreasing. Hitting back at all the rappers who make fun of him over the news, the rainbow-haired rapper insisted that his album is not flopping by comparing its sales to the likes of Trippie Redd’s and Lil Durk’s.
In a post shared on Instagram Stories on Friday, September 11, Tekashi pointed out that his album sold 29,000 units in pure sales. Meanwhile, Lil Durk’s only raked in 3,000 units as Trippie’s sold around 14,000 units. The “TROLLZ” rapper then claimed that his latest record was “blackballed,” while the others’ were not.
Earlier in the day, Tekashi also decided to turn the sales news into a joke. He shared on his Instagram account a video of him handing out his album to strangers as he told them to listen to it. “One way or another ima force ya to listen to this! Since ya ain’t want to buy it,” so the hip-hop star wrote in the caption of the post.

Tekashi became the butt of the jokes after it was revealed that “TattleTales” sales had been decreasing. The effort was previously projected to sell around 150,000 equivalent album units and launch atop Billboard 200, but decreased because many of the album bundles had been deemed eligible by Nielsen Music. As a result of that, the album is now being projected to sell less than 50,000 equivalent album units in its first week and will not top the music chart. Instead, Big Sean’s “Detroit 2” is now being predicted to top the weekly chart.
Many rappers then started clowning him over the news, with Blueface saying, “Dam he would still be alive rn if n***as ain’t gas him up. Dam 69 fell off.” Meanwhile, Trippie simply posted a video of him laughing out loud.

  • Doja Cat Denies Beefing With Nas, Is Grateful He Notices Her on 'Ultra Black'

    Instagram/WENN/Judy Eddy

During an interview on Instagram, the ‘Say So’ hitmaker claims that she can’t care less about the diss, alluding that she respects the ‘Patience’ star as an artist she grew up on.
    Sep 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – There are no hard feelings between Doja Cat and Nas despite him taking a jab at her in his song “Ultra Black”. During an interview with Fat Joe on Instagram, the “Say So” singer claimed that she couldn’t care less about the diss, alluding that she respects him as an artist she grew up on.
“I don’t know, I’m just glad he’s still putting out music, ’cause I love him,” she explained when asked how she felt about being addressed by one of her favorite rappers. “I grew up on Nas, so to hear that, I’m like, ‘Damn,’ but also, ‘Damn!’ I f***ing love Nas, thank f***g God he noticed me.”
She went on saying, “I love Nas. So, I don’t give a s**t. He can say whatever he wants. I really don’t care.” The “Like That” songstress also shared that the jab didn’t change her opinion on Nas, adding, “If I love you, I love you.”
“I made jokes about it, but other than that, you will never see me beef with Nas,” she continued. “He might want to beef with me, but you’re not gonna see me beef with Nas. You won’t see me respond.”
Nas himself also had the same sentiment in his previous interview. “I just really was saying a rhyme that rhymed with ‘ultra black,’ ” Nas explained his lyrics during his appearance on “Power 106” in Los Angeles back in August. “I didn’t even think of it. It’s all love. It was just like, ‘Michael Blackson black’… It’s bars, it’s lines. We play with words.”
Nas sparked buzz after he rapped, “We goin’ ultra Black, unapologetically black/ The opposite of Doja Cat, Michael Blackson black,” on the said song. It prompted fans to think that he’s referencing to the “Moo!” rapper’s past controversy after a video surfaced showing her joining a group chat full of white supremacists.
In response to the shade, Doja appeared to clap back at Nas by revealing that she’d be releasing a new song titled “NAS” next week. “If you know what I’m talking about, then you know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, you don’t,” she said in an Instagram Live session.
However, the singer made it clear that “NAS” is an acronym rather than a reference to the male rapper’s name. While Doja didn’t reveal what the title stands for, fans assumed that it stands for “N****s Ain’t S**t”.
