  • Lauren Alaina Explains Why She Is Thankful Ex-Boyfriend Broke Her Heart

When appearing on ‘Good Morning America’, the ‘American Idol’ alum shares that her new album ‘Getting Over Him’ is about loving herself when someone else does not.
    Sep 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Singer Lauren Alaina has thanked her ex for breaking her heart, because it helped her come up with an album of great music.
Comedian John Crist and the country star broke up at the end of 2019 after he was hit with sexual misconduct allegations from a string of women, and at the time, Alaina admits she was rocked to her core.
But she picked up the pieces as she recorded new music for the album “Getting Over Him”, and now credits Crist for inspiring some of her best work.
“The last break-up was really bad and ripped me all the way down to the core of myself, and I feel like writing this music helped me heal and learn a lot about myself,” she tells “Good Morning America”.

“My last album was about learning to love myself and now this new music is about loving myself when someone else doesn’t. I’m thankful he broke my heart – I got some great music out of it. Boy bye!”

  • Soundgarden's Kim Thayil Describes Chris Cornell Tribute Concert as 'Sort of a Clusterf**k'

While he was happy to regroup with Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd for the ‘I Am the Highway’ show, the band’s guitarist insists, ‘The rest was a little bit uncomfortable.’
    Sep 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Chris Cornell’s Soundgarden bandmates had a tough time regrouping to perform at a 2019 tribute concert for their late frontman, because it was all a little too “awkward”.
Guitarist Kim Thayil reunited with drummer Matt Cameron and bassist Ben Shepherd in January, 2019 for the “I Am the Highway: A Tribute to Chris Cornell” show in memory of the tragic singer, who had taken his own life following a Soundgarden tour stop in Detroit, Michigan in May, 2017.
The Los Angeles bash also featured sets by the Foo Fighters, Metallica, Josh Homme, Fiona Apple, and Brandi Carlile, and although Thayil is glad to have taken part to honour his late pal, he still has mixed feelings about the event itself.
“The best thing about it was playing those songs again with Matt and Ben, and the next best thing was having our friends and guests join us,” he told Kerrang!. “The rest was a little bit uncomfortable. It was sort of a clusterf**k.”
“It was picking at an open wound, emotionally, and nobody was that thrilled to do it,” he shared. “We were thrilled to play the songs for our audience, and to play with each other onstage.”
“The takeaway was the band being together with our family, crew and friends. To see that family together again was love. Everyone was happy and teary-eyed. It was the Soundgarden family together, doing what Soundgarden does and honouring and missing our beloved, departed member. That was important.”
Touching on what he viewed as the negative aspects of the show, he continued, “The rest of it – the celebrity nature, promotion and focus – was bulls**t. And we knew it was bulls**t going into it. We did it for each other, to support Chris’ legacy. There was something awkward and un-intimate about it (sic). It’s hard for me to wrap my head around it, but I’m glad we did it for our friends and family.”
Soundgarden’s surviving members are still struggling in the aftermath of Cornell’s loss, and Thayil admits it will be a while before the trio gets back together to make new music.
“Matt still has his presence in Pearl Jam so he’s kept himself writing and recording, which is good,” the musician continued of Cameron’s other gig.
“I’m just trying to come back down and get back on Earth… We will definitely find our feet, move forward and do some original stuff again. Hopefully, I’ll do stuff with Matt and Ben.”

Sam Neill shared a video of him singing ‘September Song’ with Jeff Goldblum.

  • Blueface, Lil Durk and More Rappers Clown 6ix9ine Over 'TattleTales' Decreasing Sales

    Instagram

The recently released album has now been predicted to sell around 50,000 equivalent album units after being projected to sell 150,000 units and top Billboard 200.
    Sep 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tekashi69 a.k.a. 6ix9ine released his album “TattleTales” last week, and it looks like the sales are not going as well as expected. The effort was previously projected to sell around 150,000 equivalent album units and launch atop Billboard 200, but it’s recently been reported that there’s a large decrease in projected sales.
Report stated that the reason for the large decrease was because many of the album bundles had been deemed eligible by Nielsen Music. As a result of that, the album is now being projected to sell around 50,000 equivalent album units in its first week and will not top the music chart. Instead, Big Sean’s “Detroit 2” is said to be dethroning Taylor Swift’s “Folklore” next week.
While this is indeed disappointing news for Tekashi and his crew, a number of rappers are rejoicing over this report as they start to clown the rainbow-haired rapper. For instance, Blueface wrote, “Dam he would still be alive rn if nyggas ain’t gas him up. Dam 69 fell off.” Lil Tjay, on the other hand, simply left several laughing-crying emojis in the comment section of an article about that.

Lil Durk, who has been caught in a back-and-forth with Tekashi for some time, wrote, “This what happen when you go against the voice lol ima our sell him with my eyes closed.” In the meantime, Trippie Redd appeared to mock 6ix9ine by uploading a video of him laughing his heart out along with the caption that read, “B***h.”

These rappers seemed to be mocking 6ix9ine because the latter previously trolled them over their album sales. “Blueface 12k, Lil Tjay 17k, Smokepurpp 5k, Quandorondo 3,” he said last week. “Can’t be me.”

    Sep 7, 2020

  • Artist of the Week: 24kGoldn

One of this year’s standout new artists, the ‘Valentino’ rapper is poised to break into the top 10 on Billboard Hot 100 with his latest single ‘Mood’ featuring Iann Dior.
    Sep 7, 2020
AceShowbiz – After getting his first big break with “Valentino” last year, 24kGoldn makes a bigger splash with his new single “Mood”. Collaborating with Iann Dior in the track, the 19-year-old rapper croons about young love and toxic attachment, something that music fans could easily relate to.
The poppy song soon becomes a new hit. Receiving huge boost by viral dance challenge on the wild-popular platform TikTok, it made a big jump from No. 10 to No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists. It additionally debuted at No. 3 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and No. 11 on Hot Rap Songs.
On Billboard Hot 100, the song climbed up to No. 12 after initially leaping up from No. 84 to No. 26 with 15.1 million U.S. streams and 2.2 million radio audience impressions. If the trend continues, 24kGoldn is likely to break into the top 10, his highest-charting single on the hot chart.
“Mood” is also poised to become the next global hit as the fever spread across the pond. After rising six places to occupy No. 11 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart with 7.6 million video and audio streams, it rose up the ranking once again and reached No. 4 as the list recently refreshed.
On top of that, 24kGoldn solidifies himself as one of the new artists to watch this year as his name appears in XXL’s 2020 Freshman Class, garnering the most fan votes to land the 10th spot.
Reflecting on his journey to success, the rapper acknowledged internet played a big part in propelling his career. “This has given me the platform to spread my music and spread my music to the world,” he explained. Still, “everything comes from the music at the end of the day,” he said. “I can make really good music but I know how to get it in everyone’s ears as well.”

  • 6ix9ine Disses Nicki Minaj Following 'TROLLZ' Success

    Instagram

Fans quickly slam the ‘GOOBA’ hitmaker over his comments about the ‘Anaconda’ femcee, as one says, ‘THIS! Right here is why I did not want the Barbz to support this man.’
    Sep 7, 2020
AceShowbiz – 6ix9ine (Tekashi69) apparently thinks that the huge success of “TROLLZ”, his collaborative song with Nicki Minaj, is solely due to himself. In response to Lil Durk’s claims that Nicki was the one who brought the song to be at No. 1, the rainbow color-haired rapper quickly disagreed.
“I love that girl to death. When has Nicki ever had a No. 1 ’til this day?” 6ix9ine asked in a recent interview with Billboard. When the interviewer mentioned “Say So” which was the remix to Doja Cat’s record, Tekashi responded, “No, no no… I love Nicki. That’s my sister. I love her to death. Give me a Nicki single that’s been No. 1. Her record.” He went on to say, “Let’s not shy off. That’s my record.”

Fans quickly slammed 6ix9ine over his comments about Nicki. “THIS! Right here is why I did not want the Barbz to support this man. Everyone & their mother knows Nicki/Barbz are the reason it went #1 yet I knew the second it did he would turn on Nicki in a heartbeat. I didn’t want Barbz supporting it just bc of Nicki. Now look at the mess,” one commenter wrote online.
“He must be mad at her or something. He would have never said this. Lmao,” another user added. Someone else said, “I hate when he stresses that she’s his sister… how you gon do that to your sister mf? chile…”
A Barbz opined, “he’s not had a solo #1 either tho since he wants to go there. The barbz mass buying merch bundles and different versions of the song is the only reason the song went #1 in the first place, he should quite honestly thank Nicki.”
Echoing the sentiment that Tekashi should have been grateful for the “Anaconda” raptress’ involvement in the song, a person noted, “I don’t like Nicki but boy she saved both the song and the music video. Like the flow was awesome , she sounds and looks amazing ofc the song being #1 was because of her.”
