    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Not only fans get to watch Beyonce Knowles’ much-anticipated “Black Is King” visual albums, but also a brand new music video. Just a few hours before the release of the effort, the singing-diva unveiled the visuals for “Already” featuring Major Lazer and Ghanian singer Shatta Wale.
In the music video, Beyonce is seen in a number of locations including a forest and an abandoned building. At one point, the “Crazy in Love” singer is relaxing on a tree as her body is covered in green paint to match the scenery. There are also scenes of her dancing to the song, before it changes to show Beyonce sitting on top of a motorcycle as she sings the rest of the song.
Based on the music from her “The Lion King: The Gift”, “Black Is King” arrived on Friday, July 31 on Disney+. The visual album highlighted “the voyages of Black families, throughout time” and told the story of “a young king’s transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identity. ‘Black Is King’ is an affirmation of a grand purpose, with lush visuals that celebrate Black resilience and culture.”
In a rare interview with “Good Morning America”, Beyonce explained how she hoped that the visual album would change the perception of what it means to be black. “It’s been a year in the making!” the singer excitedly said. “I worked with a diverse group of very gifted directors, actors and creatives from all over the world to reimagine the story of ‘The Lion King’. The narrative unfolds through music videos, fashion, dance, beautiful natural settings and raw new talent.”
Beyonce continued, “But it all started in my backyard. So from my house to Johannesburg, to Ghana, to London, to Belgium, to the Grand Canyon, it was truly a journey to bring this film to life. My hope for this movie is that it shifts the global perception about the word ‘black’. It’s always meant inspiration, love, strength, and beauty to me. ‘Black Is King’ means Black is regal and rich, and history and purpose, and lineage. I hope y’all love it and enjoy it.”

  • Billie Eilish Reflects on Self-Growth on Sweet New Song 'My Future'

In a statement talking about the song, the Grammy-winning songstress says that the tune, which she wrote during quarantine, is ‘really, really personal and special to me.’
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – It’s been a while since fans of Billie Eilish hear a new song from the singer. After much anticipation, the Grammy-winning songstress blessed her devotees on Thursday, July 30 with a brand new single entitled “My Future”.
Unlike her previous works, the new song features a softer sound and finds Billie reflecting on her self-growth as she keeps singing about how she’s “in love” with her future rather than other people. “I know supposedly I’m lonely now (Lonely now)/ Know I’m supposed to be unhappy/ Without someone (Someone),” the singer rhymes in a sweet, whispery voice. “But aren’t I someone? (Aren’t I someone? Yeah)”
The release of the song was accompanied with a music video, which featured an animated Billie wandering around a forest. At the end of the visuals, she gets her feet caught in a tree that later brings her towards the sky, as if indicating that she’s walking towards her budding future.

Billie said of “My Future” in a statement, “We wrote this at the very beginning of quarantine. It’s a song that’s really, really personal and special to me.” She added, “When we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at–hopeful, excited and a craaaazy amount of self reflection and self growth. But recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what’s happening in the world now. I hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves.”
“My Future” follows Bilie’s “No Time to Die”, which serves as the soundtrack to an upcoming Bond movie of the same name. She and her brother, Finneas, debuted live performance of the song at the 2020 BRIT Awards back in February, as the siblings were joined by the legendary composer Hans Zimmer and the Smiths’ Johnny Marr.

  • Kehlani's 'Can I' Music Video Will Not Feature Tory Lanez

    Instagram

Taking to her Twitter account, the ‘Gangsta’ singer announces that the music video for her single ‘Can I’, which features the Canadian rapper, will be released tomorrow, but with a twist.
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kehlani is making a measurement in the wake of drama surrounding Tory Lanez. The “Good Thing” singer took to her Twitter account to announce that the music video for her single “Can I”, which features the Canadian rapper, would be released tomorrow, but with a twist.
“CAN I. tomorrow 10 am pst. #HoneyShotProductuons #ItWasGoodUntilItWasnt,” so she said on Wednesday, July 29. In a separate tweet, she revealed that Tory wouldn’t appear in the clip for the song off her “It Was Good Until It Wasn’t” album.
“Full transparency cuz i believe in that with my following, his verse is still on the song, the video is solo. new verse on the deluxe,” the “Gangsta” singer added explained without dropping any names. “The album came out months ago i can’t remove it , doesn’t work like that. can only move forward.”

Tory was initially arrested and charged for possession of a firearm after he was pulled over by police on that fateful day. He is currently under investigation as police believe he pulled the trigger and injured his rumored girlfriend and fellow hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion. He remains mum on the allegations.
Meanwhile, on Monday, July 27, Megan got emotional on Instagram Live as she revealed that she got shot in both feet in the July 12, shooting incident. “I had to get surgery. It was super scary. It was just the worst experience of my life and it’s not funny,” she admitted, slamming people who made a joke about her shooting.
The “Savage” hitmaker was relieved because the bullets “didn’t touch the bones. They didn’t break tendons,” adding, “I know my mama and daddy, my granny had to be looking out for me with that one because where the bullets hit at, it missed everything, but the motherf***er was in there.”

  • Rihanna Promises New Music Will Be 'Worth the Wait' Amid Rumors of Eminem Duet

    WENN

The Fenty beauty boss says she wants to put out something she’s proud of as she explains the reason why she hasn’t released a new album since 2016’s ‘Anti’.
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Rihanna has reassured her impatient fans they won’t be disappointed when she finally gets around to releasing new music, promising it will be “worth the wait.”
The 32-year-old singer hasn’t dropped an album since “Anti” was released back in 2016. And while her followers are desperate to hear what Rihanna’s been working on, she’s been concentrating on the launch of her Fenty Skin skincare line. But Rihanna told Entertainment Tonight in a video chat that she’s determined to make sure she puts out something she’s proud of.
“I am always working on music,” she said. “I am always working on music and when I am ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it’s gonna come out. And you’re not going to be disappointed when it happens. It’s going to be worth it.”
“I’m not just gonna put it out just because people are waiting. It’s taken this long, I’m gonna make it worth it.”
Rihanna has a huge string of hits under her belts, including “Umbrella”, “Diamonds”, “We Found Love”, and her debut single “Pon de Replay”. And asked what she thinks of when reflecting on her career, she smiled, “I’m 10 years older, I’m 15 years older. I thought that was just a few years ago, now it’s like a decade plus. THAT is what I think about!”
“But I’m also really grateful to still be here and being able to expand into other ventures. I’m grateful. It’s been fun and I can’t even complain.”

  • Taylor Swift Praised by Black Artist for Resolving Plagiarism Accusations Over 'Folklore' Logo

    WENN

Amira Rasool expresses her gratitude after the ‘Cardigan’ singer agrees to remove ‘the’ from the merchandise of her new album following complaint from the owner of a website with the same name.
    Jul 30, 2020
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift is not letting her creativity interfere with another artist’s business. The singer has agreed to change the name and logo design of her “Folklore” album merchandise after she was called out by a black-owned fashion label over similarities with the name of the website.
In a statement issued to “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, July 28, a representative for the 30-year-old star stated, “Yesterday, we were made aware of a complaint that the specific use of the word ‘the’ before ‘folklore album’ on some of the ‘folklore’ album merchandise was of concern.” Making sure that the plagiarism allegations have been taken under control, the rep stressed, “Absolutely no merchandise using ‘the’ before the words ‘folklore album’ has been manufactured or sent out.”
The rep went on explaining, “In good faith, we honored her request and immediately notified everyone who had ordered merchandise with the word ‘the’ preceding ‘folklore album’ that they will now receive their order with the design change.”
Artist Amira Rasool, the owner of The Folklore, a website for African apparel and accessories designers, has since expressed her gratitude for Taylor’s good faith in handling the issue. “I commend Taylor’s team for recognizing the damage the merchandise caused to my company @TheFolklore’s brand. I recognize that she has been a strong advocate for women protecting their creative rights, so it was good to see her team is on the same page,” she said on Twitter.
Amira previously explained the issue over the similarities between Taylor’s logo for her album merchandise and the website’s name. “The main thing was having ‘The Folklore’ when the album was just called ‘Folklore’,” she told Women’s Wear Daily. She also pointed out that the way the word “the” is positioned vertically in the logo is too similar to her own.
While the “Cardigan” singer’s team responded immediately to Amira’s complaint, she added, “I commend them for removing that, but I think there’s a larger conversation that needs to be had. It’s not just damaging to one Black woman, it’s all the brands that we work with.”
Amira additionally said that Taylor’s fans had attacked her for speaking out, “calling me a b***h and a liar” and accusing her of being merely an attention seeker. “I think there was a lot of damage to my brand for me speaking out. I don’t think I deserved that,” Amira claimed before Taylor’s rep released the statement.
