  • Selena Gomez Defended as BLACKPINK Fans Voice Disappointment Over Possible Collab

    WENN/Instagram

Some people are convinced that the ‘Who Says’ singer will ruin the upcoming collab, while some others are disappointed that the girl group’s collaborator isn’t Ariana Grande.
    Jul 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – BLACKPINK has a collaboration with another Hollywood star in the way. It’s been reported that the K-Pop sensation will release a joint song with Selena Gomez next month, but fans of the girl group are less than happy to hear the news and are very vocal about their disappointment.
Not a few even decided to mock the way Selena’s sing, pointing out that the former Disney darling is not a good singer. “We don’t even want that collab no more selena’s ‘singing’ will ruin the song,” a BLACKPINK fan said, as one other simply said that they “can keep it.” On the other hand, someone was convinced that the song would “collapse” if it sounds like Selena’s hit “Fetish”.
“Why does she have to ruin everything..,” another expressed his/her disappointment, as some others lamented the fact that Ariana Grande would not be the one collaborating BLACKPINK like what previous rumor suggested. “We don’t want to see Blackpink doing charity, we want Aripink,” an individual commented.
Fortunately for Selena, she has a very supportive fanbase who will defend her anytime. “I’m officially done with Selena’s power being denied, I’ve sat back and watched for too long. B***hes are getting checked from now on,” one said. “BLACKPINK ADVOCATES WOMEN EMPOWERMENT JUST LIKE SELENA GOMEZ. So ya’ll shut up and sit down if you stan one of them but you drag the other. Stop being pathetic!” another blasted the haters.
Someone else commented, “Selena gomez does not have 184M followers and a $75M net worth for toxic antis to belittle her you hear me? this is why some western fans dislike kpop stans. y’all deranged. belittling a successful woman for just having a collab with a kpop group u dislike?” Meanwhile, one other wrote, “Ppl are so against Selena but despite the hate, Selena spreads positivity and support women. So I’ll b happy if this collab is confirmed. Oh and song ‘Who says’ was my anthem. I b singing that s**t 25/8.”

  • The Chainsmokers Slammed Over Packed 'Drive-In' Concert Amid Pandemic

    WENN

Even though organizers of the event say that the concert follows ‘all social distancing guidelines,’ footage that has been going around social media shows otherwise.
    Jul 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – The Chainsmokers is currently facing backlash for holding a concert amid this pandemic era. Even though the DJ duo promoted their “drive-in” concert in the Hamptons as a “very safe” event, social media footage showed otherwise and thus, they were subjected to heavy criticism.
In contrast to the event page that stated the concert would “follow all social distancing guidelines,” footage that had been going around online showed a massive crowd of people gathering in front of the stage within six feet of one another. This, naturally, angered a lot of people. “This irresponsibility of the chainsmokers having any sort of event in the current climate is absolutely appalling,” one said. “I am not ok with you risking everyone’s lives just so they can watch you press a space bar all night.”
“Fitting that The Chainsmokers are causing permanent lung damage,” another quipped. Even the State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker blasted the event in a letter sent to Southampton’s Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman. “I am greatly disturbed by reports concerning the ‘drive-in’ concert held in your town this past weekend, which apparently involved thousands of people in close proximity, out of their vehicles, a VIP area where there was no pretense of a vehicle, and generally not adhering to social distancing guidance,” he said.
He continued, “I am at a loss as to how the Town of Southampton could have issued a permit for such an event, how they believed it was legal and not an obvious public health threat. What town officials were at the concert and why was it allowed to continue when it became clear violations were rampant? Please be advised that all responses to these questions are a submission to a state department conducting an investigation, and any submission will be deemed to be a sworn statement.”
Organizers of the event themselves have insisted that the concert was very safe and followed the CDC guidelines. “The Safe & Sound drive-in concert fundraiser followed the guidelines created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and made best efforts to ensure New York’s social distancing guidelines were properly maintained throughout the event,” they said in a statement.

    WENN/Instagram

Rumors of the ‘Love the Way You Lie’ collaborators’ reunion make their way around the Internet after Em’s marketing firm posts an alleged teaser on its Instagram Stories.
    Jul 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Rihanna’s new album may still have a long way to come, but it doesn’t mean she’s not working hard in the studio. Words are the Barbadian songstress has been re-teaming up with Eminem to cook up a new song.
Words of the “Love the Way You Lie” collaborators’ reunion started to make their way around the Internet after Burn It Down Group, the company who reportedly handles marketing for Shady Records, appeared to tease the two stars’ new joint project. According to Pop Crave, on Saturday, July 25, the firm posted an image of Eminem’s trademark backward “E” logo woven into Rihanna’s “R” logo that was used on her “Rated R” album cover. The picture is accompanied by two sets of staring eyes.

Marketing firm posted a teaser of Rihanna and Eminem’s alleged new collaboration.
While the news has not been confirmed, fans can’t help feeling excited over the possibility of getting a new Rihanna song. “Ofc its with her that ‘R’ stands for rihanna omg the collaps thats about to be served I can’t wait,” one reacted to the news. Another wrote, “Love the way you lie pt 3 is coming we won.” A third user added, “omg b***h we get more rihanna.”
Some others, however, were not convinced that the image hinted at Rihanna and Eminem’s new music collaboration. Referring to her recently announced makeup line, one jokingly speculated, “it’s probably a make up line for MEN.”
There were also others who think that Rih would be doing “charity” in favor of Em with their rumored collaboration, considering that his latest album “Music to Be Murdered By” flopped.
Rihanna and Eminem first teamed up for 2010’s “Love the Way You Lie” that became a worldwide success, reaching number one in more than twenty countries globally. They later reunited for its follow-up “Love the Way You Lie (Part II)”, 2012’s “Numb” and 2013’s “The Monster”.

  • Lil Baby 'Offended' If Someone Pays Him Less Than $100K for a Verse

    Instagram

‘The Bigger Picture’ rapper has taken to Twitter to make public his opinion when someone approaches for a feature but fails to offer a certain amount of money that he has set.
    Jul 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lil Baby is among the hot rappers whose albums often lead the chart as soon as they are released. With that record, it is only natural for him to set his own standard when it comes to how much he wants to be paid for a feature and he will not accept anything less.
On Sunday, July 26, “The Bigger Picture” rapper took to Twitter to make public his opinion when someone approached for a verse but failed to offer a certain amount of money that he has set. “Ima feel offended if you want a verse from me but don’t got no 100k…. ‘respect my hustle,’ ” the Atlanta star wrote.
In a separate post, he went on to say that $100k isn’t really that expensive. “An 100k cheap by the way do your streaming research,” he shared.

In response to the tweets, most fans thought the amount of money he wanted for a verse was ridiculous. “He hot right now but damm humble yourself acting like a 10 year veteran,” one urged Baby in an Instagram comment. Someone else insinuated that the only people who could charge $100K for a verse are Nicki Minaj and Beyonce Knowles.
Meanwhile, someone clowned the rapper by saying that he needed more coins because he knew his career wouldn’t last long. “Cuz he Know he won’t be around in 10yrs. So he might as well get them coins now!!” the person commented.
However, someone defended Baby, thinking that it was pretty rational for Baby to set the price that high. “he’s right tho. he had the number one album for 4 weeks and constantly breaks streaming records. he has the right to demand whatever price he wants,” one fan said. Echoing the statement, another user added, “That man is in his prime. Y’all better pay that money !!”
Last month, the chart-topping rapper announced he was upping his feature price to $100,000. “At this point it’s safe to say I want 100k for a feature,” he wrote on Twitter at the time. Pierre “P” Thomas, the CEO of his label Quality Control Music, then quickly told him to increase the amount to 200K in his reply.
Baby is indeed one of the rising stars over the past year or so. His newest album, “My Turn”, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in addition to spending a total of 20 weeks in the Top 10.

  • Artist of the Week: Trevor Daniel

The ‘Falling’ singer gains mainstream success with his breakup anthem, making waves on social media and soaring high on music charts stateside and across the pond.
    Jul 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Trevor Daniel has become a chartbreaker following the release of his single “Falling”. Powered with catchy hook and angsty lyrics, the song becomes a breakup anthem as it gained popularity with young music fans and racked up millions of views on TikTok.
While his rise-to-fame might be preceived as easy, it’s actually not. Before the internet “started going ham” with his song, he was just like many other artists struggling to break into the mainstream culture. He tirelessly reached out to online communities in an effort to promote his music.
“Basically, there’s this editing community on Instagram,” he revealed. “I would always watch those videos all the time. It’d usually be new songs I haven’t heard before with old cartoons I used to watch growing up, like Teen Titans. We reached out. I was like, ‘Yo it’d be sick if you made some edits with my songs if you want.’ ”
The 25-year-old singer also owed his success to his hard work during his teen years. He began to cultivate his sound in his bedroom, struggling with limited resources as he was learning to produce his own songs from the internet by watching YouTube tutorials.
Released in 2018, “Falling” has since surpassed 1 billion combined music streams. It topped Billboard’s Pop Songs radio airplay, spent months at the top 10 on Spotify’s global chart, and reached top 20 on Hot 100 and US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
Inspired by Trevor’s own heartbreaks, the single has been certified double platinum in the United States and Gold across the pond. It’s taken off his 2018 debut mini album “Homesick” before being included in his first full-length studio set “Nicotine”.
While soaring on multiple music charts, Trevor Daniels caught the attention of Selena Gomez. She jumped on the remix of his follow-up single “Past Life”. They spread positivity about letting go of the past and vowing to be a better person while climbing Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40.
