    Katy Perry Says 'Tomorrowland' Will Be Her Last Show Before Maternity Leave

    The soon-to-be-mom is set to perform this coming weekend at a virtual concert which will be her last one for some time before she prepares for baby delivery.

    AceShowbiz – Katy Perry is getting so close to becoming a mother she thinks her weekend performance at the Tomorrowland Around the World virtual concert will be her last for some time.
    The “Roar” singer staged an online press conference on Thursday (23Jul20), ahead of the big show, and confessed she’s getting ready to play mum.
    Asked if the show would be her last for the foreseeable future, Katy said, “I think it’s possible, yeah – other than, like, in my own shower.”
    “I’m happy and I know my body feels good and so that means I can give a great performance.”
    Perry will headline the event, featuring performances from DJs Steve Aoki and David Guetta, among others.
    “Even though I’m like an extra 40 pounds, no one cares, but I’m still dancing around and still bringing that kind of sparkle in life, and fun, and joy,” she added, insisting her swan song gig could be one of her best.
    “The performances are not on Zoom, and not from our couches, and they are a high level,” she explained. “They’re gonna be different than anything that you’ve tuned into during this time over quarantine. I think it’s gonna be worth a ticket for sure.”
    Meanwhile, Perry’s new album, “Smile”, will be released on 14 August (20).

    AceShowbiz – Chart-topping rapper Lil baby is baffled by Kanye West’s claims he blocked a collaboration, insisting no one told him the “Stronger” hitmaker was trying to track him down.
    During a Twitter rant on Tuesday (21Jul20), Kanye confessed to being a big fan of the Georgia-based newcomer and alleged he had tried to arrange a studio hook-up.
    West wrote, “Lil Baby my favorite rapper but won’t do a song wit me (sic),” during what many feel was Kanye’s latest bipolar episode – he also attacked his wife Kim Kardashian and mother-in-law Kris Jenner on Twitter.
    But Lil Baby insists he knew nothing of West’s efforts to reach out to him until he read his tweet.
    “Nobody told me ye was trying to get me on a song that’s f**ked up,” the young rapper tweeted on Thursday.
    He also sent a message to West directly, adding: “@kanyewest no disrespect nobody told me.”

    The ‘New Rules’ hitmaker is nominated for her latest studio album ‘Future Nostalgia’ while Charli receives recognition for her record ‘How I’m Feeling Now’.

    AceShowbiz – Dua Lipa and Charli XCX lead a record breaking number of female nominees for the 2020 Hyundai Mercury Music Prize.
    The shortlist for this year’s award was announced on Thursday (23Jul20), with 12 artists in the running for the prestigious accolade celebrating albums made by British and Irish acts.
    The “New Rules” hitmaker is nominated for her latest collection, “Future Nostalgia”, while Charli gets a nod for her recent lockdown-inspired project, “How I’m Feeling Now”.
    On being nominated, Dua told the BBC, “I never really thought this would ever happen to me.” Said Lipa, “Maybe I just didn’t think I was cool enough.”
    The two pop artists are among seven women or female-fronted groups up for the award, beating the previous record of five.
    “This album was like therapy to me,” Charli told BBC 6 Music. “It was a real emotional release. I decided once quarantine began that I could not really sit still, and I had to create something for my own piece of mind. I feel honoured to have my little corner of experimental pop music be recognised.”
    Stormzy also gets a nod for his latest record, “Heavy Is the Head”, as does fellow grime act Kano who is shortlisted for the critically acclaimed collection “Hoodies All Summer”.
    Indie bands shortlisted include up-and-comers Sports Team, who are nominated for their acclaimed debut “Deep Down Happy”, and Brighton rockers Porridge Radio for “Every Bad”.
    The other acts with albums nominated are Anna Meredith for “FIBS”, Georgia’s “Seeking Thrills”, Lanterns on the Lake’s “Spook the Herd”, Laura Marling for “Song for Our Daughter”, as well as Michael Kiwanuka and Moses Boyd for their records “KIWANUKA” and “Dark Matter”.
    The winner will be chosen by a panel that includes Jorja Smith, ex-Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes, jazz crooner Jamie Cullum, Anna Calvi, and industry professionals including DJ Annie Mac. The triumphant act will be announced on 24 September.
    Rapper Dave’s album “Psychodrama” emerged victorious last year, taking home $33,000 (£25,000) in prize money.

    AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift is to release a “surprise” album of brand new music she created during lockdown on Friday (24Jul20).
    The pop superstar, who dropped her last record “Lover” last year, announced the shock release of a new collection, “Folklore”, on Thursday with a message to fans on Twitter.
    “Surprise (hugging face emoji),” she wrote alongside a picture of its forest scene cover art, a statement, and link to her store. “Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my 8th studio album, folklore; an entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into.”
    In her statement, the singer revealed she has used the need to stay at home during the Covid-19 pandemic to work on new material and has collaborated with The National rocker Aaron Dessner, who has co-written 11 of the 16 songs, Bon Iver, William Bowery, and Jack Antonoff.
    “Most of the things I had planned for this year didn’t happen, but there is something I had planned that DID happen,” she told fans in her announcement.
    Describing why she is releasing new music now, the “Bad Blood” hitmaker added, “Before this year I would’ve probably overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed.”
    “My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the kind of uncertainty that I can get on board with.”

    AceShowbiz – Broadway star Nick Cordero will be honoured by the release of a live album to mark what would have been his 42nd birthday.
    The singer and actor lost his battle with COVID-19 at the beginning of the month (Jul20) and now his widow, Amanda Kloots, has revealed a show her husband recorded last year (19) is being issued as a new album.
    “Exciting news! Thanks to our friend @michaeljmoritz – Nick’s one man show he created last April @54below is being released by @bwayrecords with presale starting today,” Amanda announced on Wednesday (22Jul20).
    “Nick would be absolutely thrilled to hear this news. I’ve never seen my husband work so hard on something and be so nervous to perform. I was so proud of him and absolutely loved watching him onstage these two nights. He created this show from scratch, choosing songs to tell a story…his story.”
    “There’s some Broadway tunes with fun guest stars, some pop, standards, a little Latin and of course the encore is (song) Live Your Life. The album release date will be on Nicks (sic) 42nd birthday, September 17, 2020.”

    AceShowbiz – Is what One Direction fans have been hoping for all this time is going to come true? Ahead of the British group’s tenth anniversary, the group made a return to Instagram with a post that seemingly hinted at a possible reunion.
    Even though the post simply consisted of the words, “10 Years of One Direction” written against a black background, it was the caption that got people thinking that the group would make a reunion. “Tomorrow! You and me got a whole lot of history,” so the caption read, along with the hashtag “10 Years of 1D.”
    Fans were unsurprisingly elated over the possibility of a reunion. “DUDE WE’RE GETTIN THE BAND BACK TOGETHER,” an excited fan wrote in all-caps, as someone equally couldn’t contain her/his excitement, “AM I DREAMING RN?! THIS IS ALL HAPPENING RIGHT WHEN IM GONNA TURN 18TH?!” Another one said, “BROOO ITS LIKE JUST HITTING ME THAT ONE DIRECTION MIGHT REUNITE TOMORROW IM CRYING.”
    There was another person who joked that s/he would be very willing to be Zayn Malik’s replacement if they would reunite, while an individual commented, “No but actually. If one direction doesn’t reunite tomorrow or drop a new song I will simply be passing away.”
    Originally composed of Zayn, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan, One Direction was formed in the seventh season of “The X Factor” U.K. Version. Despite finishing third on the competition, the group became a worldwide sensation and won nearly 200 awards throughout their careers. In 2013, they became the second-highest earning celebrities under 30 according to Forbes and was named the world’s best-selling artist of the year.
    Despite their very successful years, the band later announced that they would be going on a hiatus and 2016 as the members started pursuing other projects.

    AceShowbiz – Katy Perry decided her latest album should be called “Smile” after realising she had lost hers during a battle with depression.
    The pop star admits she was in a very dark place when she started work on the project and couldn’t find happiness in dating and shopping – the things she used to turn to when faced with the blues.
    “I’ve always had a playful thing about my music and I lost that… I had really lost my smile,” she told shock jock Howard Stern during an appearance on his radio show on Tuesday, July 21, revealing the criticism she received about her previous album, Witness, really upset her.
    “You create art and you’re excited for it to be received by the world. When it’s not received by the world, when it’s kind of like, ‘No, thank you’, you think, ‘Oh s**t, that doesn’t feel good’.”
    “It was more (depression) than I had ever faced in my life. I’d had bouts of depression before, but I had been able to avoid falling into the really dark depression by making music. It’s like all these things you do to distract – you eat, you work, you get a new boyfriend, you shop.”
    Things go so bad that Katy had to start taking medication.
    “I was so ashamed… because I was like…, ‘I wrote Firework!’ But it was one of those things where I’d sprained my brain a little bit.”
    Pregnant Perry’s new album, “Smile”, will be released next month.

    AceShowbiz – Rapper 42 Dugg blew everyone’s mind on Tuesday, July 21. The hip-hop star hopped into Instagram Live to share a snippet of his new song, on which he made a shocking confession about his life.
    During the Live session, 42 Dugg was bopping his head up and down as he listened to the song in his car. The song itself found him getting candid about how hard his life had been and at one point, Dugg seemingly spitted, “I was out here suckin’ d**k/ I was tryna pay the rent.”
    It’s unclear when the full version will be released to the public, but the snippet alone has already gained a lot of attention to the point where Dugg’s name started trending on social media. Many people were even convinced that Dugg is gay after listening to it. “LMAOOOO N***A SAID HE WAS OUT THERE SUCKING D**K TO PAY THE RENT,” one reacted. “42 dugg gay omfg.”
    “so 42 dugg is gay? or he like some of yall who be sucking d**k sometimes but got a girl?” one other wondered. “That 42 Dugg s**t is not even suprising. All these n***as gay low key,” someone else was not surprised. There was also an individual who commented, “the lgbt community after hearing what 42 dugg said,” alongside a clip of a person saying, “Y’all listen! That’s called motherf***ing boss, n***a!”
    Dugg later debunked the claim and insisted that people heard his verse wrong. “H**S OUT HERE SUCKIN D**K… I WAS TRYNA PAY HER RENT,” so he wrote on his Twitter account. But people were not convinced and accused him of lying. “N***a really finna tell dat lie …,” a follower replied to his post. “That’s not what I heard fam,” another said.
