  • Ellie Goulding 'Treated as a Sex Object' by Music Producers When She's Teen

    WENN

The ‘Lights’ singer recounts her ‘uncomfortable’ experiences with producers at the beginning of her music career when she was a teenager trying to make it in the industry.
    Jul 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ellie Goulding was “treated as a sexual object” by producers when trying to make it as a teenager in the music industry.
The “Army” hitmaker started out in music in her late teens, eventually dropping out of university when she began to find success and releasing her debut album when she was 22.
Starting out, the now 33-year-old says some producers tried to prey upon her vulnerability in order to get her to have sex with them.
“The first producer I met wanted to sleep with me,” she tells The Guardian. “And I was like, why? I didn’t see myself as an object of desire. I wouldn’t be able to get home because I couldn’t afford it, and they would say: ‘You can stay.’ But there would always be the suggestion of something. I’d have to laugh it off – I constantly had to laugh things off.”
The star reveals that she was often offered alcohol and had to deal with advances that made her feel “uncomfortable.”
“Other sessions would have alcohol and it would get to a point where the man would say something suggestive and I’d feel uncomfortable,” Ellie adds. ” My whole career started off with instantly being made to feel like a sexual object, and being made to feel vulnerable in those sessions. And there are so many female singers that will hear me saying that and say: ‘Yeah, I can relate.’ ”
These experiences left the star feeling that sexualising herself “was what one of my strengths had to be,” adding, “I really was programmed into thinking that that was part of how to succeed.”
The singer releases her latest album, “Brightest Blue”, on 17 July.

  • T.I. on Why He Challenges 50 Cent to a Song Battle: We're 'Similarly Stacked'

    Instagram/WENN

Meanwhile, when asked what would happen if Fif rejects his challenge, the Atlanta rapper responds, ‘”I understand if he don’t wanna get down in the mud, ’cause he’s so accomplished now.’
    Jul 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – T.I. gave more insight into his attempt to get rival 50 Cent on a “Verzuz” song battle with him. During his appearance on “Ebro in the Morning” on Thursday, July 9, the Atlanta rapper revealed why he targeted Fiddy, telling Ebro Darden and Peter Rosenberg that he and Fif were “similarly stacked.”
“I just think [50 has] got an ego big enough to withstand my bravado,” T.I. said at around the 15:30 mark. “I don’t think he’d be intimidated by how I pop my s**t … You got to get a gorilla for a gorilla. And regardless of how you see me, inside me there’s a 900 pound gorilla … We really are similarly stacked. I don’t have a diamond album (like 50), but he don’t have five classic albums,” he went on to say.
He then listed his five classic records, including “I’m Serious”, “Urban Legend”, “Trap Muzik”, “King” and “Paper Trail”. Ebro then replied, “I mean, there’s three in there, for sure.” However, Tip thought Ebro was biased because he’s from New York City, just like Fofty.
Saying that New York rapper had an advantage over everyone else, T.I. explained, “New York is the birthplace of hip-hop; they have some of the most successful, most talented lyricists known to man … But even though they have those lyricists … If they were from somewhere else, they wouldn’t have had the same success. If 50 Cent were from the Midwest, he’d be Nelly. Nelly got two diamond albums.”
When asked what would happen if Fif rejected his challenge, Tip responded, “I understand if he don’t wanna get down in the mud, ’cause he’s so accomplished now. He’s got so many TV shows, he got so many dope TV shows, and so many prosperous television deals that he just doesn’t time to get down in the weeds and defend his catalog against the king, I understand … But as an artist, as a businessman, [50’s] extremely accomplished. But my catalog is doper than his.”

“I don’t want Jay-Z or Nas … they can tap into a sense of nostalgia that I can’t tap into,” he said. “I wanna see someone who was coming up at the same time as me … They [also] have to be a ‘multimedia global mogul’ … If there’s a great white in the fish tank, where the f**k do the goldfish go?”

“The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady” marks the first time for Kid Cudi to work with the Detroit rapper. Prior to this, Eminem released his studio album “Music to Be Murdered By”, which arrived at the top of 2020.

  • Kanye West Shares Freestyles Based on His Run for President – Listen!

    WENN/Instar

In one of the songs, which is titled ‘This Is What Covid’s Made’, the rapper calls out Donald Trump by rapping, ‘How about we stop hiding in the bunkers and be a real man?’
    Jul 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – It looks like Kanye West is more than ready to run for president, to the point that he’s created three presidential campaign freestyles. The rapper shared the songs with Forbes during his infamous interview, and now the publication has released it to the public for your listening pleasure.
In the first song, which is titled “This Is What Covid’s Made”, Kanye obviously put the focus on the pandemic and called out President Donald Trump at one point by rapping, “How about we stop hiding in the bunkers and be a real man?”
The second song, which is named “Thou Shalt No Kill”, was partially inspired by the infamous O.J. Simpson case and found him spitting bars about his opposition to the death penalty. He also spitted out the lyrics of his Travis Scott (II) collaboration, “Wash Us in the Blood”. He rapped, “Wash us in the blood/ Rain down on us/ Wash us in the blood of Jesus.”

Meanwhile, in the final song “This Is Earth”, Kanye conceptualized the negative connotation with the word “dirt” and rapped about how his religious transformation helped him find solace. At the end of the audio, the interviewer said that this last song could be his campaign song, to which he said that he actually has more in store.

Kanye announced his presidential bid on Fourth of July, writing on Twitter, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States!”
Not a few are against the idea, though there are also some who support his decision. Elon Musk used to be among those who supported Kanye, though it appears he is now re-considering his decision. After a follower let him know about Kanye’s views on abortion, the Tesla founder said, “We may have more differences of opinion than I anticipated.”

  • YG Vows Not to Work With Nicki Minaj Again Because of Her 6ix9ine Collab: I'm Hurt

    Instagram

During a radio interview, the ‘Go Loko’ rapper is asked whether or not he will release another collaboration with the ‘Bang Bang’ rapper, to which he answers, ‘I’m cool.’
    Jul 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – YG and Nicki Minaj have worked on several projects together in the past, including his hit “Big Bank”. However, their fans are most likely not getting any future collaborations ever since the female rapper decided to work with his nemesis 6ix9ine on “TROLLZ”, prompting YG to swear off collaborating with her again.
He revealed his decision during a recent radio interview, in which the host told him about her joint song with the rainbow-haired rapper. In response to that, YG simply shook his head before saying, “My feeling’s hurt. I’m a real street, n***a.” When asked whether there will be no more Nicki’s features in the future, the “Go Loko” spitter said, “Yeah, I’m cool.”
It’s worth noting that YG and 6ix9ine have been feuding for a long time, with the two firing shots at each other whenever they have the chance. For instance, when YG was asked about his feud with 6ix9ine during an interview on “The Breakfast Club”, he said, “I ain’t come to the ‘The Breakfast Club’ to talk about this n***a. It is in ‘Su Whoop’ and yeah, that’s how I feel — so what? The little n***a was playing with too much of the real s**t and I had to say something. It is what it is. n***s know what’s up, but I don’t like all that s**t.”
Once 6ix9ine got wind of YG’s words, the “FEFE” rapper wasted no time to hit back. “YG, suck my f**kin’ d**k, stupid. Your last single before your album came out had four major artists on there. You had 2 Chainz, you had Nicki Minaj and you had Big Sean,” he said. “How’s my record doing better than your s**t? You a whole bum out here. Stop going on radio stations tryna promote your album mentioning my name.”

  • 50 Cent Slams Pop Smoke's Team Over His Posthumous Album Release

    Instagram

The rapper takes to Instagram to make public his displeasure about how the slain rapper’s team dealt with his posthumous album ‘Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon’.
    Jul 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – 50 Cent has always been known as an opinionated individual. Recently, the rapper took to his Instagram account to make public his displeasure about how Pop Smoke’s team dealt with his posthumous album “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon” following the controversy surrounding the botched album cover designed by Virgil Abloh.
On Thursday, July 9, the “In Da Club” spitter, who serves as a co-executive producer of the set, shared a picture featuring his quote about his involvement in the slain rapper’s album. “Not everything that I do is based on finances and money. I’m not taking anything from the proceeds from anything that has anything to do with the project. It is completely about how I felt about the kid when we were talking,” said 50 on executive producing the album.
Fofty then wrote in the caption, “I’m really not feeling the way the guys involved with Pop’s project are handling things, I got it to this point it’s gonna be the #1 album. That’s good enough right, i’m gonna be unavailable moving forward peace.”

Some fans praised him for the post. “Your vision for the album was indeed needed. Thank you for the great music. RIP Pop Smoke,” one of them said in the comment section. “You a real G for this my guy. If pop was here he would still be on his phone writing down what you were saying. Wooooo,” another chimed in.
His post arrives after it was revealed that five men were arrested in connection to Pop’s murder. In response to the news, Fiddy wrote on his Instagram account, “Oh s**t, what the f**k was the police waiting for his album to drop too.”

Previous report stated that Los Angeles Police Department officials served multiple search warrants early on Thursday, July 9, and three adults and two juveniles have since been taken into custody. According to TMZ, they are each being interviewed regarding their alleged involvement in Pop’s death back in February when the 20-year-old was fatally shot during a home invasion at his rented Hollywood Hills property.
It remains to be seen what charges the suspects will face. However, Pop’s manager Steven Victor expressed optimism about the police investigation.

  • SZA Says She Never Declares Herself as 'Queen of RnB' After Being Clowned

    Instagram

Speaking for a new interview, the TDE artist gives an update on how her music is perceived, adding that she doesn’t want to be boxed into one genre and that some people call her the ‘Queen of RnB.’
    Jul 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – SZA sparked debate after revealing in a new interview that she didn’t want to be referred as the “Queen of R&B.” As soon as the interview was published, fans were confused as to why the singer thought she had the title.
Speaking to Wonderland Magazine, the TDE artist gave an update on how her music is perceived. The singer added that she didn’t want to be boxed into one genre, saying some people called her the “Queen of R&B” though she wasn’t necessarily happy with the title.
“I spent too much time growing up on just as much Imogen Heap, and listening to Comfort Eagle by Cake and vibing for people to call me a ‘queen of R&B,’ ” said the “All the Stars” singer. “Why can’t I just be a queen, period?”
“Nobody does that to white people at all, ever. No one ever does that to Adele or Justin Bieber when they’re wholeheartedly singing R&B,” she went on saying.

In response to the comments, fans took to social media to question it. “Who called her that,” one fan asked. “SZA the queen of what, now?” another questioned.
“I love me some Sza but I wanna know who these people are that are calling her the queen of r&b,” one Twitter user added. “SZA: people need to stop calling me the queen of R&B! Everyone on twitter:,” a person tweeted alongside a meme of someone asking “Who said that?”
Echoing the sentiment, one other said, “I love SZA but I’ve literally never heard anyone say she’s the queen of r&b.” Thinking that Summer Walker is better than SZA, a fan wrote, “Summer walker album eats her album, I’m confused.”

SZA appeared to laugh off the clownery.
SZA then took to her Twitter account to seemingly respond to the clownery. “Lol,” she simply wrote. The singer also explained her insight into the statement in a comment section of The Shade Room’s Instagram post, writing, “uhhh I was talking about a public Rolling Stone cover click bait title? Never self proclaimed . Lol Jus didn’t like the title…. For this exact reason. God bless tho.”

  • Katy Perry Looks Downcast as Clown on Cover of Her New Album

The ‘Fireworks’ hitmaker wears a red nose and shows no smile at all on the artwork of her upcoming sixth studio installment despite the title being ‘Smile’.
    Jul 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Katy Perry has shared the cover of her new album, “Smile”, with fans.
The “Roar” singer sent the image of herself looking down and fed up, while wearing a red nose, to devotees via her online newsletter, urging them to pre-order the release now.
The album, featuring the hits “Daisies” and “Harleys in Hawaii”, actually drops on 14 August (20), around the time of another major Perry release – the birth of her first child.

Smile comes with a collection of new merchandise, including rainbow socks, T-shirts, a jigsaw and a $20 (£15.80) face mask.
Meanwhile, the singer recently revealed she’s planning to take a long break following the album’s release, so she can focus on motherhood and plan her wedding to fiance Orlando Bloom.
“After my child comes, I’m going to go into my own other version of quarantine and I would like this record that I’ve been working on for two years to come out and be a gift to the public, because I think they’re all gonna be dancing in the street at some point when it’s safe,” Katy told “Good Morning America”.
She also admitted she started work on the new album – her fifth – when she was in a dark place two years ago, and feels the project is a kind of a rebirth.
“It’s a record about resilience and finding kinda the light at the end of the tunnel, because I’ve been writing over the past two years and in the beginning of those two years… I was kinda like clinically depressed and coming out of that and I didn’t know what my life was… and I couldn’t really imagine living, to be completely honest,” she explained.
“And now, I feel like I’ve done the work and I’m still doing the work, emotionally, spiritually, physically, psychologically and now I’ve come to this light at the end of the tunnel… I am gonna live and not only that, I’m gonna bring life into the world.”
