    Jul 3, 2020

The rocker insists the new material won’t be released until the pandemic is over, but it’s almost “ready” for fans.
“We did some recording last year that got us some really great starting points and complete songs (and now) there’s an album ready to go,” he tells Rolling Stone. “We’re just not really sure when we want to press that button.”
“When I say ready to go, I mean ready to be completed. Let’s put it that way… It’s very, very fresh. We’ve cut everything quite quickly. We’re coming to things in a shorthand way. The feedback we get from that is pretty good. We want to be quick, down and dirty with the next one (album).”

  • Vanilla Ice Calls Off Fourth of July Performance Following Backlash

    WENN

The ‘Ice Ice Baby’ star is no longer scheduled to perform at the upcoming Independence Day concert in Austin, Texas after he came under fire amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
    Jul 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Rapper Vanilla Ice has backed out of plans to perform at an Independence Day party after confessing he “didn’t know” how bad the coronavirus spike was in Austin, Texas.
The “Ice Ice Baby” star came under fire this week after he promoted his appearance at The Independence Day Throwback Beach Party on Friday (03Jul20) when 2,500 people were expected to pack the outdoor Emerald Point Bar & Grill to celebrate the American holiday.
The show had only been allowed to go on due to a legal loophole as the venue is technically classified as a restaurant – not a bar, enabling bosses to keep the place open at 50 per cent capacity after Texas Governor Gregg Abbott recently ordered the closure of all drinking establishments as a result of a surge in COVID-19 cases.
Local officials at the Travis County Health Department even warned people not to attend the show for their own safety, but at the time, Vanilla Ice remained defiant and refused to cancel.
“I take the coronavirus serious (sic). But we can’t live in a bubble,” he posted on Twitter early on Thursday.
“I think at this point we all understand the severity of it. practice social distancing and wear a mask. This is an outside venue, Fourth of July on the lake with fireworks. Plenty of room for distancing.”
However, less than four hours later, Vanilla Ice announced he had changed his mind and would postpone his show due to mounting safety concerns.
In a video posted to social media, the MC said, “Basically, I’m not going. I listened to my fans, I hear all you people out there.”
“I didn’t know the numbers were so crazy in Austin, but we were hoping it would be a lot better by Fourth of July, ’cause we booked this concert a long time ago.”
“Basically, we just wanna stay safe,” he continued. “We do take it serious (sic) and we wanna make sure that everybody’s safe…”
“We were just hoping for a good time… but it turned into a big focal point on me, and it’s not about that, so anyway, Happy Fourth July, and hopefully, by New Year’s, this corona c**p will have a cure…! All the best everybody.”
More than 8,000 new cases were reported in the state on Wednesday, two months after Texas authorities began allowing some businesses and services to reopen following the initial coronavirus shutdown.

AceShowbiz – Virgil Abloh has explained his widely-criticized art for Pop Smoke’s posthumous album cover. After the reveal of the artwork was met with backlash from fans who accused the Louis Vuitton designer of being “lazy,” he revealed his thought process behind the art.
“the last conversation i had with @realpopsmoke was about what we were gonna do in the future. this album cover was one of like 5 things we talked about,” he wrote in a now-deleted post along with the album cover. “he mentioned his story felt like the metaphor of a rose and thorns growing from concrete of of his hood in Canarsie, Brooklyn.”
“in your memory I just finished it yesterday,” the CEO of the Milan-based label Off-White went on sharing. “as evident of the whole idea, the t-shirt insinuates it’s mandatory we put an and to this cycle of violence that plagues us, we need to shoot for the moon & aim for the stars. as heavy is it is we are celebrating your life the whole way thru. rest in peace young one.”

An online petition was also launched demanding a change on the album’s artwork, with the petition creator writing, “Virgil deada** was wild lazy with Pop Smokes Album cover and he needs to fix it.” One person who signed the petition shared, “I’m signing because this n***a Virgil is an artistic terrorist.” Another chimed in, “Never let this n***a touch a computer ever again.”
50 Cent also weighed in on the cover art, suggesting that he had seen it before it was unveiled and never approved it. “Hey Virgil we need new album art, they ain’t going for this bulls**t. Love ya work let’s get to it,” he posted on his Instagram page on Tuesday, June 30. “Steven i told you this s**t was eww let get it right!” He has since shared numerous alternative versions for the album cover.

  • Normani's Team Accused of Sabotaging Her Career

    Instagram

It’s rumored that big names like The Chainsmokers and Anne-Marie have reached out to the Fifth Harmony member for collaborations, but her team rejected the offers.
    Jul 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – Normani Kordei has been going solo for some time now, but something is still bothering her fans’ mind as she barely releases any new music or does any promotion. This leads these devotees to blame her team for their poor management and even go as far as accuse them of sabotaging her career considering the new allegations that recently surfaced on the Internet.
According to a source, her team often turns down opportunities because they want to push her to do more R&B music to cater to the urban market. For instance, it has been rumored that several big names in the industry, such as The Chainsmokers and Anne-Marie, reached out to her for collaboration. However, her team rejected the offers.
Her manager, Tunji, allegedly admitted to purposely using her successful collaborations to promote her solo song because he doesn’t want to spend money to promote her own solo music. It was also reported that Tunji turned Song Association’s offer many times because he thinks she’s “too big” for that.
Following these accusations, many of her fans have been urging Normani to get out of her contract and find a new team that can manage her better. Neither Normani nor her team have yet to respond to these rumors.
Normani went solo after Fifth Harmony announced that they’d go on an indefinite hiatus. Since then, she has released several collaborations with other musicians, including her successful duet with Sam Smith, “Dancing with a Stranger”, that peaked at No. 7 in the United States. She also became the fastest solo artist without an album to surpass one billion combined streams on Spotify.
Her first solo single, “Motivation”, was released in August 2019. It was nominated for Best Dance Performance at the Soul Train Music Awards.

  • Singer Vanilla Ice Under Fire for Planning Fourth of July Concert Amid Pandemic

    Instagram

The musician, who is known for his hit ‘Ice Ice Baby’, announces that he will be holding a show at Emerald Point Bar and Grill in Austin, Texas this weekend.
    Jul 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – During this pandemic era, people are advised to avoid large crowds and stay at home. It appears singer Vanilla Ice, who is known for his hit “Ice Ice Baby”, is missing the message as he announces his plan on holding a Fourth of July concert at Emerald Point Bar & Grill in Austin, Texas this weekend.
Speaking of his upcoming show, Vanilla Ice said along with footage of his past concert, “I can’t wait to get back to this. The 90s were the best. We didn’t have coronavirus, or cell phones, or computers. we had 5.0’s, blockbuster, Beavis and Butthead, Wayne’s world, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.”
He continued, “And Mortal Kombat is still better than fortnight but we got out of the house, We danced, we invented house parties in the 90s. The last of the great decades.”

People, naturally, didn’t take this announcement well and went on to attack Vanilla Ice on social media. “imagine you live but you have to admit you put your body in severe disrepair to the point of being intubated and contracting like 5 new chronic diseases because you had to go to the vanilla ice concert,” one said. “Getting the coronavirus at a Vanilla Ice concert has to be one of the lamest ways to die,” another wrote.
Someone was so in disbelief, “Dear Jesus help me understand the cultural collision where someone will die to see Vanilla Ice,” while another person reacted, “What is wrong with them? It’s a pandemic for God’s sakes. I think it’s a possibility we’re going to get up to a million people dead at this point. Republicans are the most selfish, moronic people. What’s happening is that they are killing frontline workers & healthcare workers.”
Despite the criticism, Vanilla Ice still shows no sign of canceling his concert.
Coronavirus cases have continued to arise in Texas. On Wednesday, July 1, the Texas Department of State Health Service reported 8,076 new cases, marking the first time Texas crossed the 8,000 threshold for new cases in a single day.
