AceShowbiz – During this pandemic era, people are advised to avoid large crowds and stay at home. It appears singer Vanilla Ice, who is known for his hit “Ice Ice Baby”, is missing the message as he announces his plan on holding a Fourth of July concert at Emerald Point Bar & Grill in Austin, Texas this weekend.
Speaking of his upcoming show, Vanilla Ice said along with footage of his past concert, “I can’t wait to get back to this. The 90s were the best. We didn’t have coronavirus, or cell phones, or computers. we had 5.0’s, blockbuster, Beavis and Butthead, Wayne’s world, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.”
He continued, “And Mortal Kombat is still better than fortnight but we got out of the house, We danced, we invented house parties in the 90s. The last of the great decades.”
People, naturally, didn’t take this announcement well and went on to attack Vanilla Ice on social media. “imagine you live but you have to admit you put your body in severe disrepair to the point of being intubated and contracting like 5 new chronic diseases because you had to go to the vanilla ice concert,” one said. “Getting the coronavirus at a Vanilla Ice concert has to be one of the lamest ways to die,” another wrote.
Someone was so in disbelief, “Dear Jesus help me understand the cultural collision where someone will die to see Vanilla Ice,” while another person reacted, “What is wrong with them? It’s a pandemic for God’s sakes. I think it’s a possibility we’re going to get up to a million people dead at this point. Republicans are the most selfish, moronic people. What’s happening is that they are killing frontline workers & healthcare workers.”
Despite the criticism, Vanilla Ice still shows no sign of canceling his concert.
Coronavirus cases have continued to arise in Texas. On Wednesday, July 1, the Texas Department of State Health Service reported 8,076 new cases, marking the first time Texas crossed the 8,000 threshold for new cases in a single day.
