The 79-year-old folk rock icon’s latest release, “Rough and Rowdy Ways”, has been met with huge critical acclaim since its release, and it tops Friday’s June 26, 2020 Official Charts Company rundown with 34,000 chart sales.

  • Usher Reveals How His 'Tough' Upbringing Inspires New Song 'I Cry'

    WENN

Encouraging men to embrace their emotions through the song, the ‘U Got It Bad’ hitmaker says that the ‘universal feeling of hopelessness’ amid the Black Lives Matter protests motivated him to release the tune.
    Jun 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Usher has encouraged men not to be afraid to show their emotions in his powerful new song “I Cry”.
The 41-year-old singer is father to Usher Raymond V, 12, and Naviyd, 11, with ex-wife Tameka Foster, and admitted he wants to set an example to his boys that there’s no shame in a man crying.
“This song was inspired by wanting to teach my sons that it is ok for a man to feel emotions deeply and to cry. Like many men, I was raised to believe that we have to be ‘tough’ and not show our vulnerability, which I don’t want to teach them,” he wrote in a statement on Twitter.
Usher added that the death of George Floyd at the hands of police officers and the subsequent Black Lives Matter protests around the world also motivated him to drop the inspirational tune.

“While I was shut in during the pandemic and watching the death of George Floyd, the ongoing slaughter of Black men and women, the protests and the events that unfolded, I became very connected to the wider universal feeling of hopelessness,” he explained.

“Like many, I grew increasingly frustrated by how slow things have been to change. I became very depressed thinking about all (the) sons who have lost their fathers to police brutality, social injustice and violence; the daughters and mothers too. So I returned to this song and realised it was intended for this time, so I finished it and here it is.”

  • JoJo Siwa Claps Back at 'Irresponsible' Blackface Allegations Over Her 'Nonstop' Music Video

The former ‘Dance Moms’ star denies that a dancer in her music video is wearing blackface, claiming that it’s part of her animal costume to match the circus theme of the clip.
    Jun 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Amid mounting criticisms over celebrities’ racist behaviors, some people tried to drag JoJo Siwa into it as one of the alleged offenders. But they have apparently addressed their allegations to the wrong target as the singer/dancer has denied any wrongdoings.
The allegations stemmed from the 17-year-old’s music video for “Nonstop”, which she released on June 19. People claimed that a young dancer in the clip, which has circus theme, was wearing blackface, while in fact she was dressing up as a circus animal.
Setting the record straight, JoJo posted a lengthy statement on her Instagram page on Friday, June 26 to slam “irresponsible” comments and posts about her as she thinks that “everyone seems to rush to conclusions without having all of the facts.”
“I would like to address the music video that we shot for ‘NONSTOP’ in February. We’re talking about kids dressing up as circus animals! No one in my video is wearing blackface,” she wrote. “It’s awful that anyone’s mind would even go there. Kids dressing in animal costumes, having their faces painted to look like animals, acting the part. There were zebras, tigers, dogs, clowns, mermaids, everything.”
Stressing her stance in the Black Lives Matter movement, the former “Dance Moms” star claimed, “I’ve addressed Black Lives Matter issues previously on my social media, I will say it again for the ones in the back, Black Lives Matter, today, tomorrow, yesterday and forever. I’m on the right side of history here. Stop trying to make this about something it isn’t.”
She went on addressing her previous post, in which she declared that she blocked some people on social media. “My instagram post yesterday had absolutely nothing to do with the criticism I received on my music video ‘NONSTOP.’ I blocked certain people online and stopped following others because I was tired of seeing the personal hate on me,” she explained.
“Some people will do anything for attention and that includes being mean,” so the “Boomerang” hitmaker continued. “People were sending me really horrible and disgusting messages about my appearance, my sexuality, my content, and overall just being hateful.”
She concluded her statement with a message to her “real fans,” writing, “I love my real fans and am so grateful for their love and support. Instead of trying to drag everyone down, let’s be positive and come back like a boomerang.”

One day before, on Thursday, JoJo announced that she blocked certain people who “are bossing me around, telling me who to follow, what to post, what to like, what to say, what to do, everything.” She declared, “This is my instagram and anyone who is going to be mean is NOT going to be allowed on here.”

“It’s not about what you do on social media it’s about what you do in real life,” she added. “I said it best when I was 12 ‘Hide behind the screen cause their just so mean. but we don’t play it like that, we don’t even fight back’….. and now this is for everyone who is being kind right now…. thank you! I really do see your posts, I really do read your captions, and I really do appreciate them. More than you know.”

  • Adele Forced to Scrap Planned September Release for New Album

    WENN

Jonathan Dickins, a manager to the ‘Hello’ hitmaker, blames the COVID-19 pandemic for the delay of her first record since 2015, adding that it will only come out when it is ready.
    Jun 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – Adele’s first album since 2015 is no longer set to debut in September.
The singer’s manager, Jonathan Dickins, has revealed the COVID-19 pandemic has halted the star’s plans to put a new album out this year.
“It isn’t coming in September, it’ll be ready when it’s ready,” he tells Newsweek. “We’re all in the same boat; you’re doing stuff and then all of a sudden, the world stops. It’ll come when it’s ready. I can’t put a date on that yet. We have music, but we’re still working (on it).”
Adele’s last album was the bestselling “25”.
Several musicians have had to delay or scrap the release dates of much-anticipated albums during the global health crisis, including Lady GaGa, Sam Smith, and Alanis Morissette.
Adele accidentally let slip that her latest record was set to debut in September during a wedding reception for her pal Laura Dockrill in March. In a clip that made the rounds online, the “Hello” hitmaker could be heard telling the crowd, “Expect my album in September”, before performing at the event.

  • Megan Thee Stallion Lets Out 'Girls in the Hood' Amid Feud Between Eazy-E's Daughters

After ReeMarkable expressed her frustration over the ‘Hot Girl Summer’ rapper’s ability to sample her late father’s work, her half-sister Ebie Wright slams her for speaking on behalf of the family.
    Jun 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – Megan Thee Stallion has unleashed a brand new song on the heels of her “Savage” success. At midnight on Friday, June 26, the “Hot Girl Summer” raptress released “Girls in the Hood”, which sampled N.W.A’s classic 1987 single, “Boyz-n-the-Hood” that was performed by Eazy-E.
Putting a spin to Eazy-E’s original lyrics, the 25-year-old spits, ” ‘Cause the girls in the hood are always hard/ Ever since sixteen, I been havin’ a job/ Knowin’ nothin’ in life, but I gotta get rich/ You could check the throwback pics, I been that b***h.” In the chorus, she rhymes, “I’m a hot girl, I do hot s**/ Spend his income on my outfit/ I don’t text quick ’cause I ain’t thirsty/ These b***hes mad, mad, they wanna hurt me.”
    [embedded content]
“Girls in the Hood” is the latest single Megan released in 2020. She has previously come out with Normani Kordei collaboration titled “Diamonds” and Tyga duet called “Freak” in addition to “B.I.T.C.H” and “Captain Hook”. In April, she also dropped a remix of “Savage” featuring Beyonce Knowles that peaked at Number One on Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Songs Chart in May.
Hours before dropping the single, Megan got dragged in a feud between Eazy-E’s daughters. On Thursday night, June 25, Henree Wright, who is also known as ReeMarkable, turned to her Instagram account to fume over the clearance given to other artists in sampling her late father’s work while denying hers.
“So tired of the bulls**t games we gotta keep playing , I’m done being [quiet] ! We want involvement when it come to our daddy , tired of my sister crying about the unfairness,” she wrote alongside a video statement. “I’m fed the f**k up … WE EAT OFF NOTHING MY DADDY LEFT BEHIND. What ever y’all see Us have we hustled to get . S**t too lame we get papers thrown at us but others don’t . We just wanna be apart of the legacy too …”

ReeMarkable’s half-sister Ebie Wright responded with an Instagram post of her own, voicing her support for Megan. “I don’t know her, my father didn’t know,” she said in a video as referring to ReeMarkable. “And it’s really strange to me that every single time something that has to do with my dad comes up, she’s the first running to the internet to speak up, as if she’s the spokesperson for my father or family. It’s really, really fucking weird.”

Reacting to Ebie’s post, ReeMarkable came out with another Instagram video. “The past 10 years this girl has been delusional. ebie you gotta grow up . We got bigger things to handle . Stop with the jealous s**t,” she wrote in the caption. “I’m sparing you. I’m being kind cause I was raised right . And I don’t beef on the internet.”

“NO BODY GIVES AF ABOUT WHAT YOU TRYIN TO DO!!!! They laughing at you . love you though imma pray for you . I promise I wasn’t going to go hard on you . And I’m not going back and forth on ig. Bang my line . Been saying that since day one BIG SIS,” she continued. “OH AND I F**KIN LOVE @theestallion …. don’t misconstrue my words.”
