The Oasis star scores a No. 1 album in the United Kingdom with his live set recorded during his acoustic performances at Hull City Hall in the summer of 2019.
    Jun 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Liam Gallagher’s “MTV Unplugged” live record is the U.K.’s new number one album.
The MTV Unplugged performance, which was recorded live at Hull City Hall in England last August 2019, tops Friday’s Official Charts Company rundown to become the first live record to do so since George Michael’s “Symphonica” in March 2014.
Celebrating the news, Liam tells OfficialCharts.com, “Nobody told me there’d be days like these, strange days indeed. Most peculiar mama. 3 number 1 albums in 3 years… not bad for an unsophisticated parka monkey. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.”

At two is Lady GaGa’s “Chromatica”, with Lewis Capaldi’s “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent” rising one place to three. In fourth spot is Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia”, and Harry Styles’ “Fine Line” completes the top five.
In the singles chart, DaBaby and Roddy Ricch’s “Rockstar” makes it five non-consecutive weeks at number one, once again beating Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain On Me” into second place.
At three is S1mba and DTG’s “Rover”, with German DJ Topic and Swedish singer A7S’ “Breaking Me” in fourth spot. Completing the top five is AJ Tracey and Mostack’s “Dinner Guest”.

  • Cliff Richard Hopes Vera Lynn Duet of 'We'll Meet Again' Will Get a Release

    WENN

The ‘Devil Woman’ hitmaker makes the revelation over their unreleased collaboration when paying tribute to the ‘Forces’ Sweetheart’, who recently passed away at the age of 103.
    Jun 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Sir Cliff Richard is hoping his version of wartime anthem “We’ll Meet Again” with Dame Vera Lynn will finally get a release following the beloved singer’s death this week.
Dame Vera, who became known as the “Forces’ Sweetheart” after recording the song in the 1930s, died on Thursday, June 18, aged 103, and while paying tribute to the icon on the radio on Friday, Richard revealed he had the pleasure of recording the track with Lynn.
“I did record ‘We’ll Meet Again’ with her but it’s still in the banks, the troughs, somewhere hidden away. We didn’t get to use it yet,” Sir Cliff said, adding that Dame Vera was “a wonderful, wonderful person and a great individual to look up to.”
“I don’t know whether I can speak for everybody in Britain but I think most countries need something, something that they can look towards and aim at, and certainly she’s one of those icons that you can look and aim at. Sometimes I feel that we throw around things like the word ‘legend’ and icon almost too freely. Every now and then, with the passing of Vera Lynn, you’re suddenly reminded, ‘Oh my goodness, you know. I was one of the lucky ones.’ ”
“I was never really close to her but I’ve been close to her physically and we actually did work together and I could see, these people that were the remnants of the folks that survived the World War Two were reaching out to her. As a pop singer, you get used to being reached out at, but they weren’t reaching out for a pop singer, they were reaching for someone that they truly seemed to love.”
