Demi Lovato Fights Herself in 'I Love Me' Music Video

    [embedded content]

The ‘Anyone’ songstress explores the theme of self-acceptance in the clip, which features references to her past, including her ‘Camp Rock’ days and her 2018 overdose.
    Mar 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Demi Lovato is giving her inner demon’s a kick in the back. Days after announcing the release of her newest single, the “Anyone” songstress drops a music video for “I Love Me” that saw her having a fierce spar with one of her two alter egos.
The promo released on Friday, March 6 begins with the 27-year-old spending some down time in an apartment before two different versions of herself popped up. It does not take long before she fights one while her other self watches from the side. When she is finally declared a winner of the match, she steps out to the streets in full confidence.
” ‘Cause I’m a black belt when I’m beating up on myself/ But I’m an expert at giving love to somebody else/ I, me, myself and I, don’t see eye to eye,” she sings. “Oh, why do I compare myself to everyone/ And I always got my finger on the self-destruct/ I wonder when ‘I love me’ is enough? … I’m my own worst critic/ I talk a whole lot of s**t, but I’m a 10 out of 10, even when I forget it.”
Delivering a message of self-love, the music video also sees the “Skyscraper” hitmaker making reference to her past. She bumps into a trio who are likely to be a reference to her “Camp Rock” co-stars, the Jonas Brothers, and comes across a woman on a stretcher who is being rushed into an ambulance, which is most likely a tribute to her near-fatal overdose in 2018.
Near the end of the video, a bride and a groom make a dash away from the “Give Your Heart a Break” singer. It seems to be a reference to her ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama’s engagement to Amanda Pacheco after eight months of dating. She and the former “That ’70s Show” had dated for six years in the past.
After “I Love Me” video made its way out, Demi shares on Instagram what the song is really about. “I can’t put into words just yet what this past year for me has been… but this song focuses on a lot of what’s been going on in my head,” she explains. “We have good days, and we have bad days. The best we can do is be the best version of ourselves and celebrate that with those closest to us. Wanted to also give a special shoutout to all of my lovatics for always being there for me. 2020 is OUR year!”

Megan Thee Stallion's Label Boss Fails to Block Her Album

    Instagram

A judge throws out the emergency motion filed by the 1501 Certified Entertainment chief Carl Crawford to prevent Hot Girl Meg from releasing her new music.
    Mar 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Rap newcomer Megan Thee Stallion is still on course to drop new music on Friday, March 6, 2020 after a Texas judge shut down her label bosses’ emergency motion to halt its release.
The “Hot Girl Summer” star has been locked in a legal battle with 1501 Certified Entertainment chiefs over the past week, accusing them of trying to block the launch of any new material because she wants to renegotiate an unfair contract she signed five years ago.
Megan was granted a restraining order against 1501 executives on Monday, giving her the green light to move forward with her planned music release, but label head Carl Crawford filed a request for an emergency hearing on Wednesday, arguing the MC has no right to take them to court.
He insisted the terms of their record deal – the same one Megan, now 25, is seeking to have reworked – are clear in stipulating that any dispute is to be addressed in arbitration.
However, Crawford’s motion to dissolve the temporary protection order was dismissed, according to TMZ, paving the way for Megan to share her latest work, a nine-track project called “Suga”, on Friday.
Meanwhile, Rap-a-Lot Records founder and producer J. Prince, who is in business with 1501 officials, has taken aim at Megan for namechecking him in her lawsuit against Crawford’s company and accusing him of employing bullying and intimidation tactics to get his own way in the entertainment industry.
In a lengthy response posted on Twitter, Prince disputes the “slanderous lies” laid out in the court filing, and claims Megan, who is signed to the management division of Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label, has allowed their lawyers to “brainwash” her into pursuing the legal action.
He maintains Megan’s record contract, which grants her a “40 per cent profit share,” is a “great deal,” particularly for a rising artist without an album, but insists he is open to renegotiating because he doesn’t want to go to war with Jay-Z, who Prince believes is unaware of the full extent of the dispute.
Jay-Z and his Roc Nation representatives have yet to comment on the remarks.

    Mar 5, 2020

The 35-year-old singer announced the happy news that she and fiance Orlando Bloom are expecting a baby together in her “Never Worn White” music video, which she dropped on Wednesday night (March 04).
At the end of the video, the camera panned away and showed Katy cradling her growing bump.
In an Instagram Live after the video’s release, Katy told fans that the tot is due this summer.
“There’s a lot that will be happening this summer,” she grinned. “Not only will I be giving birth, literally, but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for. So let’s just call it a double whammy. It’s a two-for.”

“I am excited. We’re excited and happy and it’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. And I like to tell you guys everything but I knew I would tell you in the best way, which is through a piece of music because that’s… I guess that’s how I speak to you. That’s how we speak together to each other.”
Katy added that she’s been struggling with pregnancy cravings, and carries a bottle of hot sauce around with her wherever she goes. She also admitted she’s been eating “the same burrito for weeks on end.”

After announcing her pregnancy, Katy took to Twitter to tell her fans she was “so glad” she didn’t have to “suck in” her bump any more, adding, “or carry around a big purse lol.”

While the baby will be the first for Katy, Orlando, 43, is already father to nine-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
The couple’s pregnancy news comes after they celebrated the one-year anniversary of their engagement on Valentine’s Day last month.

Robbie Williams Never Regrets Turning Down Offer to Front Queen

    WENN/Graham Finney

During a radio interview, the former Take That member jokes he didn’t like the idea of taking a pay cut when revealing that he was once asked to join the rock band.
    Mar 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Robbie Williams turned down the chance to front Queen because he didn’t like the idea of trying to replace Freddie Mercury and taking a pay cut.
The former Take That star revamped the band’s “We Are the Champions” with Brian May and Roger Taylor for the “A Knight’s Tale” soundtrack and the rockers were so impressed they asked him to consider joining them in Queen.
Williams admits he was flattered but he didn’t feel he could come close to replacing Mercury – and he didn’t fancy splitting stadium concert cash with his potential bandmates.
“I was doing stadiums myself at the time,” he tells SiriusXM. “I didn’t want to have to split it three ways, but that’s another story… and I just thought I’d save them the audacity of me even trying to step on a stage and be the same echelon as Freddie Mercury. He, to me, is angelic. He’s godlike. It was just too scary.”
Robbie doesn’t regret passing up the opportunity to front Queen, insisting they eventually found the right man for the job in Adam Lambert. “If he wasn’t such a lovely person, which he is, I would just be terrified of him, because of his pure talent,” Williams adds. “His voice is absolutely incredible. And he’s an incredible performer, and a lovely person to boot.”

“I’m really pleased when I meet people that I’m just overawed by their talent… and they’re nice. It’s much better than meeting people that give you a talent hard-on and they’re a**holes. You’re just like, ‘Oh, I hate everything you’ve done now.’ ”

Young Rapper Zaza Eyes North West Collaboration Post-Paris Fashion Week Performance

    Instagram/WENN/Instar

After Kanye West’s daughter delivered a remix of her ‘What I Do’ song, the five-year-old MC explains her issue with the performance, but adds they could ‘rap and go to Disneyland’ together.
    Mar 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – North West has a new fan in five-year-old rapper ZaZa, after she performed her own remix of one of the star’s tracks at her dad Kanye West’s Yeezy fashion show at Paris Fashion Week.
The daughter of Kanye and Kim Kardashian performed a remix of ZaZa’s song “What I Do” in the French capital on Monday (March 02), and the hitmaker told TMZ she was so impressed with North’s musical abilities she wants to hit the studio with her.
“It was really good, I really liked it. It felt like… it was so good, it was so dope!” she gushed.
When asked whether the pair are going to connect in person soon, ZaZa responded, “We’re going to rap and go to Disneyland and stuff like that,” and teased the pair could go into a studio and lay down vocals together too.
Following the show, ZaZa’s parents responded on her Instagram page, writing, “We not mad BUT… PLS SHOW LOVE AND SUPPORT TO THE ORIGINAL FIRST!!!”
“We admire Kanye west, and adore his journey. However, we don’t wanna feel like our daughter’s journey in the world of entertainment is being STIFLED.”
Kim later responded, insisting she “didn’t mean to not give credit where credit was due,” and adding “Would love for the girls to meet soon.”
Explaining why she took issue with North’s performance, the young star said, “I feel like her just took it away and I was like, ‘Why did you just took it away from me?’ (because) it’s my beat. (sic)”

But they appear to have resolved the issue, with ZaZa adding, “Daddy speak to them because daddy is gangsta.”

Megan Thee Stallion's Planned Album Release to Be Blocked by Record Label

    Instagram

Days after the ‘Hot Girl Summer’ hitmaker gained a temporary restraining order against 1501 Certified Entertainment, music mogul Carl Crawford demands an emergency hearing on their legal dispute.
    Mar 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Megan Thee Stallion is facing a court fight over plans to release new music this week (March 06) as part of an ongoing legal dispute with her label bosses.
The “Hot Girl Summer” star was granted a restraining order against her 1501 Certified Entertainment chiefs on Monday, March 02, after claiming they were trying to stop her from dropping new material because she wants to renegotiate an unfair contract she signed when she was 20.
On Wednesday, March 04, music mogul and former professional baseball player Carl Crawford filed a motion to dissolve the temporary protection order, insisting the rapper, now 25, should never have been allowed to take the issue to court, because any dispute is supposed to be addressed in arbitration, as per the terms of their record deal – the same one Megan is seeking to have reworked.
In the documents, filed in court in Texas and obtained by TMZ, Crawford demands an emergency hearing on the matter, in a bid to block Megan’s hopes of sharing her latest project on Friday.
He argues he is simply exercising his contractual right to control distribution of her music, as the hip-hop beauty is still technically under contract, while he also calls into question the “disappointment of her fans” as a legal basis for Megan’s protective order request.
A decision on the emergency hearing had yet to be made as WENN went to press, but Megan appears to be pressing ahead with the launch of her new tunes regardless – in a post on Instagram, she announced a nine-track project called “Suga” will hit streaming services on Friday.

Journey's Drummer Steve Smith and Bassist Ross Valory Fired From the Band

    WENN/Judy Eddy

Neal Schon and Jon Cain have decided to fire the band’s drummer and bassist for allegedly attempting a ‘corporate coup d’etat’ to control the group’s business entity.
    Mar 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Journey’s Neal Schon and Jon Cain have fired drummer Steve Smith and bassist Ross Valory.
Schon, the only original member now in the band following Valory’s dismissal, and Cain, accused their old bandmates of attempting a “corporate coup d’etat” to control the group’s business entity Nightmare Productions in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.
In a press release, the guitarist and keyboard player’s lawyers allege Smith and Valory were “sowing discord” by “engaging in self-dealing and selfishly putting their interests ahead of the band’s.”
The pair are seeking damages of $10 million and accuse their ex-colleagues of trying to bring an end to the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Famers after more than four decades.
In their complaint they accuse the drummer and bassist of using Nightmare Productions, “as a tool to destroy the fabric of the band, undermining the very reason for Nightmare Productions’ existence.”
The rockers lead counsel, Per Miller, says, “This is not an action that Neal and Jon wanted to bring against two men that they once considered their brothers, but the devious and truculent behavior of Steve and Ross left them reluctantly with no choice but to act decisively.”
The “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” hitmakers’ lawyers also state in their release that their clients have “provided notice” to their former pals and are unwilling to perform with them again. Their filing also states that Valory and Smith can no longer use the Journey name.
Schon and Cain also announced that their tour of North America will get underway in May as planned with regular vocalist Arnel Pineda and a new rhythm section.
Smith and Valory are yet to publicly respond to the lawsuit.
