    AceShowbiz – Orlando Bloom gushed he’s “one proud partner” after Katy Perry’s “Celebrating America” performance.
    The actor cried “a tear of joy” when his wife-to-be belted out her mega-hit “Firework” during the TV special in honour of President Joe Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday (20Jan21).
    And Orlando can’t wait for the couple’s four-month-old daughter, Daisy, to be old enough to see her mother “play (her) part in a moment in history.”
    Alongside a clip of his fiancee’s powerful performance of her 2010 hit, Orlando wrote, “One day our little girl will grow up and see her mother play her part in a moment in history that we hope will heal, we hope will unite, we hope, we love.”
    “One proud partner here with a tear of joy.”

    Katy belted out “Firework” at the National Mall as the night sky was lit up behind her with an incredible firework display, with the performance quickly leading to her trending on Twitter.
    She later shared a clip of the performance on her Instagram page, writing alongside it, “Firework – Celebrating America.”

    Katy’s “Firework” performance closed out the TV special which kicked off with Bruce Springsteen’s powerful rendition of “Land of Hope & Dreams.” The Boss said, “I’m proud to be here in cold Washington, D.C.”
    It also featured Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, John Legend, and the Foo Fighters.
    Tom Hanks served as a host, “Tonight, we ponder the United States of America, the practice of democracy, the foundations of a republic, the integrity of our Constitution, the hopes and dreams we all share for a more perfect union.”

    AceShowbiz – Bruce Springsteen opened the “Celebrating America” TV special that ended the presidential inauguration on Wednesday (20Jan21) with a powerful rendition of “Land of Hope & Dreams”.
    Standing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., The Boss introduced the song he performed in 2017 as Barack Obama stepped down as President, by stating he was proud to be part of the two-hour event staged to celebrate the inauguration of Obama’s Vice-President, Joe Biden, as America’s 46th leader.
    “I’m proud to be here in cold Washington, D.C.,” the rocker said.

    The special, hosted by Tom Hanks at the National Mall in the capital, also featured performances from Jon Bon Jovi, who sang a cover of the Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun” from Miami, Florida, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, John Legend, the Foo Fighters, and Katy Perry, who closed the show with a powerful rendition of her hit “Firework” as the night sky behind her was lit up.
    Opening his hosting duties, Hanks told viewers, “Tonight, we ponder the United States of America, the practice of democracy, the foundations of a republic, the integrity of our Constitution, the hopes and dreams we all share for a more perfect union.”
    The TV special also featured famous inauguration speeches from American citizens and dignitaries and messages from members of the Armed Forces from across the globe.
    There was also a special moment when the new President addressed the nation before the Lincoln Memorial.

    The British music festival which takes place annually at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England has been cancelled by organizers amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

    AceShowbiz – Organisers of the U.K.’s Glastonbury Festival has cancelled its 2021 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic for the second year running.
    The iconic music event, held annually at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England, will not go ahead, organisers Michael and Emily Eavis announced on the festival’s Twitter account.
    “With great regret, we must announce that this year’s Glastonbury festival will not take place, and that this will be another enforced fallow year for us,” they said. “In spite of our efforts to move heaven and earth, it has become clear that we simply will not be able to make the festival happen this year. We are so sorry to let you all down.”
    They confirmed that as with last year, anyone with a ticket has now been offered the opportunity to roll their deposit over to next year, when the festival will hopefully resume.

    Last year’s 50th-anniversary event was meant to be headlined by Sir Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, and Kendrick Lamar, but it was cancelled during the initial U.K. lockdown in March 2020.
    In December 2020, the former member of The Beatles admitted he was reluctant to headline the music festival due to coronavirus concerns. The 78-year-old musician said, “Glastonbury, where you’ve got over 100,000 people packed into a field? That’s a super-spreader.”
    Despite the organizers’ confidence, the “Hey Jude” hitmaker didn’t expect next year’s festival to take place either.

    AceShowbiz – Drake’s fans looking forward to his new album may be disappointed to hear new update from the star. On Wednesday, January 20, the rapper announced on Instagram that his upcoming album “Certified Lover Boy” won’t be arriving this month as planned before.
    The “Hotline Bling” hitmaker brought the news of the album release delay on his Instagram Story, explaining that the plan was derailed due to his recent surgery. “I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” so the 34-year-old wrote.
    Hinting that his recovery process is going well so far, he added, “I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January.” The OVO Sound co-founder, however, assured fans that he’s working on completing the album within this year. “I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021,” he shared.

    Not much is known about Drake’s condition, but the Canadian star posted in October 2020 a picture of his bandaged knee while he’s resting in bed. “I actually want to use this post to send love and motivation to anybody else that 2020 let loose on,” so he told his online devotees. “Start writing the best bounce back story now.”
    His rep later confirmed that Drizzy did undergo a knee surgery, though failed to offer up any other information as to how he got injured. Just days prior, he was still able to celebrate his 34th birthday on October 24 with a big party.
    Prior to the album release delay, Drake had teased “Certified Lover Boy” with a promo video showing a young boy looking up into a spotlight shining down on him as a hazy instrumental plays. The promo spot also referred to his previous albums and mixtapes like “So Far Gone” (2009), “Take Care” (2011), “Nothing Was the Same” (2013) and “Dark Lane Demo Tapes” (2020).
    To serve as the sixth studio album of Drake, the album has boasted a single titled “Laugh Now Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk, which was released in August.

    The former “All That” star announced that she was engaged to her fiance Paul on Valentines Day 2020. Amanda, however, has since deleted pictures featuring her man on Instagram. Right after the September 2020 post, it jumped to a 2018 post in which she wrote to her fans, “My dearest fans, thank you for all the support throughout the year and every year.. I know I’ve been so quiet lately, i just felt that i needed my personal space and that it’d be better for me but it never was.. just know that you’re my happiness! :).”

Hosted by Tom Hanks, the show featured performances from the likes of Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake and Demi Lovato among others in remote places.
    As the final performer of the night, Katy oozed pride as she sang her hit “Firework” from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial while pyrotechnics bursting behind the Washington Memorial illuminated the sky. She was wearing a Thom Browne all-white cashmere coat, satin corset and floor-length skirt.
    While the “Teenage Dream” hitmaker belted out the song, there’s footage of President Joe Biden with First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris with second gentleman Doug Emhoff standing on balconies overlooking the firework display over Washington, D.C.

    Justin, meanwhile, teamed up with Ant Clemons for an uplifting performance of their collaboration “Better Days”. Singing from inside the iconic Stax Records in Memphis, the duo took it to the streets mid-song while being backed by a socially distanced band in an empty Memphis intersection.

    Demi also brought a sense of optimism with her powerful rendition of “Lovely Day” from Los Angeles. Wearing a beige power suit, she performed in a studio with screens displaying the faces of famous people like Lin-Manuel Miranda and many health and essential workers being seen in the background.
    In between the “Commander-in-Chief” songstress’ performance, the camera cut to show Biden holding his grandson Beau in his arms, as he, wife Jill and his family watched the televised special from what looks like a room in the White House.

While some praised her for her beautiful rendition of “This Land Is Your Land” and “America the Beautiful”, she raised eyebrows with an unexpected reference to her song “Let’s Get Loud” at the Wednesday, January 20 event.
    Near the end of her medley of the patriotic songs at Joe Biden’s inauguration, the Grammy Award-nominated artist recited the final words of the Pledge of Allegiance, “One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” in Spanish. She then belted out, “let’s get loud,” which was a clear reference to her 2000 hit.
    People quickly took to Twitter to share their reactions to J.Lo’s performance. While some found it amusing, others dragged the singer/actress for the move as they dubbed it “cringe” or “self-serving.”
    “Miss JLO………..Let’s Get Loud? At the Inauguration?” a shocked viewer tweeted. Another shared similar reaction, “I am absolutely losing my mind at J.Lo adding ‘Let’s Get Loud’ into her performance ….”
    “I’m sorry, I just busted out laughing at Jenny’s ‘Let’s get loud’ remix,” an amused user commented, while another accused J.Lo of “rewriting This Land Is Your Land as a Jlo greatest hits medley.”

    Some others were not that nice, with one blasting the “Hustlers” star’s performance, “Jlo’s performance was so cringe why did she have to throw in her let’s get loud lyric.” Another echoed the sentiment, “Did anyone else cringe when J.Lo said ‘let’s get loud’ towards the end of the song? Ma’am this is not the time to plug your personal brand.”
    “Whoever hired her to perform should be fired,” another remarked, while someone else hilariously asked, “If JLo could sneak ‘Let’s get loud’ into her inaugural performance I’m just really confused as to why we didn’t get ‘I wanna take a ride on your disco stick’ in Gaga’s National Anthem??”
    Replying to the question, another user explained, “@JLo spoke Spanish saying, ‘One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty & justice for all’ & also ‘Let’s get loud’ which is a call to Latinx communities to not be quiet but fight to be heard, similar to what she did during the Super Bowl half-time show.”

    Another also defended the star, “She is just telling Latinos to get loud and use our voice to make changes. She has done that for a while now.” Someone else added, “You don’t seem to understand….let’s get loud is for minorities like Hispanics to voice out their grievances ‘out loud’ , specially Puerto Ricans who are forced to be Americans.”
    J.Lo herself has not responded to the backlash.

    Gaga helped to kick off the events on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. by belting out the American national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner”, accompanied by the Marine band.
    She accessorised her navy Schiaparelli fitted jacket and red silk ballgown with a large, gold peace dove pin, a nod to the America United theme of the ceremony, and later shared a close-up of the piece online, explaining, “A dove carrying an olive branch. May we all make peace with each other.”

    J.Lo, dressed in white Chanel, delivered a touching rendition of folk classics “This Land Is Your Land” and “America the Beautiful”, adding the titular line from her “Let’s Get Loud” hit in between as she addressed viewers in Spanish, reciting part of the Pledge of Allegiance, saying, “One nation, with liberty and justice for all.”

    Country superstar Brooks was the final musical performer of the inauguration, singing an a capella “Amazing Grace” as he asked attendees and viewers at home to join him in singing the final verse “as one, united.”

    Reflecting on the powerful moment online, actress Sophia Bush wrote, “That moment. Inviting everyone in America to sing ‘Amazing Grace’ together … it was hard to get the words out through tears. But it felt beautiful to do that with folks all across the country.”
    “Amazing Grace, indeed,” remarked Kim Cattrall.
    Meanwhile, Bette Midler hailed Gaga for her “sensational version” of the national anthem and applauded J.Lo for “another great new version of two American standards.”
    Monty Python star Eric Idle was moved to tears by Gaga’s delivery as “The Hangover” star Ed Helms declared, “I AM GAGA FOR GAGA!!! So amazing!!!”

    “We have a Black, South Asian American Madam Vice President of the United F**king States!!!!!” exclaimed Olivia Munn as Mindy Kaling shared a photo of her daughter Katherine watching Harris’ swearing-in on TV and captioned the Instagram shot, “I was at work, but she said, ‘Is that mommy? It looks like mommy.’ Best compliment I ever got! It matters. Happy Inauguration everyone.”
    “My heart is full right now. Hope restored. A time for renewal indeed!” wrote Zoe Saldana as Oprah Winfrey celebrated Harris by adding, “In tears watching this extraordinary moment for women in the U.S. and the world. Vice President @kamalaharris”.
